Honestly this movie and the sequel are so underrated. I’m happy you guys reacted to it! Some of the writing in this movie is pretty clever and the action is great too. There is just something about a badass character that truly and genuinely cares for others and helps them like Robert in this movie.I also hope you guys watch the sequel and enjoy it too! As a kid, The Equalizer was one of my favourite tv shows (played by Edward Woodward) and I was a little uneasy about how they'd treat the character in a film but this was superb. Denzel just nails every role he plays. Honey has healing properties but I have to agree I wanted someone to be getting that in the face. What's wrong with us? lol

When it comes to this movie, Denzel, Washington nailed every single part of the movie, which is absolutely phenomenal from him to do that 👏

Denzel's character was so hard in this show, just cold blooded and efficient.

This was a fantastic movie and I loved y"alls reaction.This is a reminder of a lesson that my dad gave me years ago. You never know who you're dealing with.They had no idea they were dealing with the original bad ass.

What Keanu lacked in acting he made up with flashy action. Denzel on the other hand delivers his lines with the same amount of impact of his action scenes

The scene with the honey seems to confuse a lot of people, but it's a natural antiseptic that we've been using on wounds for literally thousands of years.

Robert is really a great character. Part 2 is just as great if not better. A third one is coming out soon, I will definitely see it at the theater.

One of my favorite TV shows in the 80s... Each week Robert would get someone answering his newspaper ad, asking for help... So, the situations, antagonists, and protagonists were free to be completely different each week. Theme music was by Stewart Copeland (The Police). English actor Edward Woodward played the lead character, and was quite vocal in how much he hated the show (and American TV for that matter) - so the writing was on the wall for the show. It is probably one of those shows that you remember so fondly, and then you watch it with older eyes and think - why did I like that? A quick search says that a reboot TV series was made with Queen Latifah playing Robert... Um... ok... i guess. I can't really imagine her replacing Denzel's excellent performance. maybe it was good... she's not a bad actress - but this role? i have no idea.

Denzel is one of the greatest actors of our life-time!! Equalizer 2 is also fantastic!

Denzel is by far one of my favorite actors. He is so dedicated to his craft. Everything he takes on he takes on fully for the training this film he worked relentlessly at. If you ever have a chance listen to a lot of his social media statements. So profound. Equalizer 2 is amazing and he has a third coming out very soon. So many films are his I would recommend but a few are for your patreon poles are training Day or John Q. Both phenomenal

Queen Latifah plays the Equalizer on the TV show. She's always great. Also, if you're so inclined, The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021) with Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand and directed by Joel Coen is beautiful, and as if I didn't already think Denzel was amazing, he killed it. I can't recommend it enough. I also recommend using subtitles with Shakespeare. Seeing it as well as hearing it really helps with the flow of understanding the Elizabethan English.

Denzel really did elevate this movie a lot more than it would've been if they got anyone else. His line deliver and acting is masterclass.

Yep and a lot of people so hyped up with John wick and sequels but the real King 👑 spa is Robert the equalizer. And the sequel is out there and the part 3 is coming in September 1st. In the movie theaters The last of the trilogy.

The Equalizer is hands down of my favorite action movie franchise’s (I don’t watch too many of them) also because Denzel is one of the best!

Honey does work in a pinch for cuts - it has antibacterial properties (which is why honey never spoils regardless of how long you keep it on the shelf), and its flexibility when dried makes it work well as a liquid bandage.

this movie and the 2nd one of the movie are both so good, the 3rd one from the looks of the trailer looks really good, but watch the equalizer 2 as that is a good one as well, also another good one of his which is very very underrated and it also stars Ryan Reynolds is safe house, it's kinda got a really good story line and plenty of action

Agreed that a noose made out of freaking BARBED WIRE is one of the most horrifying deaths I can think of. You've got the slow terror of asphyxiation with what must be indescribable pain from all the gashes around your neck digging deeper with every second's pull of gravity. Kudos to whatever writer thought up THAT monstrosity...

Part 2 is not your normal sequel cause it is also damn good, not rushed for the cash cow. I highly recommend part 2!!!!

The stand off on the stairs is an amazing scene between two veterans. Love it.

Classic TV series becoming films or film franchises and actually being successful is a rarity. One is Mission Impossible. The other would be The Equalizer. One individual to even up the odds for the innocent. Bringing the pain to the bad guys that deserve it. I loved the classic tv series (1985-1989) as an kid. To have one of the great accomplished actors/filmmakers of film make something like this is very rare. Denzel as McCall/co-producer and Fuqua directing didn't try to copy the show, beat for beat (except for the last shot). I saw it in the IMAX format and it became Denzel's highest grossing film ever. Part 2 is even more kick-a** and grossed more than the first. It was revamped into a new original series with Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall and one of the producers. Part 3 is out this summer and it's gonna be incredible.

The series on CBS in the 1980s was great! Edward Woodward, English actor, played Robert McCall, and he was so good. Denzel is great in this role, too.

My Wife and I went to a Screening of this back in 2013. Never heard of this movie. Thats when my Wife said it was an old TV Series. Really nothing changed from the screening except the Explosions got Bigger 😂 Love this movie can’t wait for the Third Film. And for you guys to react to the Second Film!

'The Man From Nowhere (2010)' korean film, i think from memory its one of the films that inspired John Wick!

Another favorite denzel film of mine is the Book of Eli. Its a post apocalyptic type but it has a great message and its just a bomb movie. Anyway great video guys!

Came for the crazy intro. Stayed for the Denzel. Vegan mayonnaise is usually just mainly 3 things. Soy milk, oil ,and salt. Really mayonnaise is usually Oil, egg yolk, and vinegar (sometimes lemon juice). Also usually it's olive oil depending on the brand. Also different herbs and/or spices to depending on the brand.

The cinematography in this movie is gorgeous, too. The camera keeps moving, the wet asphalt at night (classic!), shot composition, everything. There are several shots in this movie that could work as desktop backgrounds.

Great reaction, guys. For me, one MAJOR takeaway from the movie is this. If you MUST pick a fight with someone, don't ever do it in a hardware store. The movies are based on a popular TV series from the 1980s. It had a very different actor, but the exact same premise - former super-spy seeking to help people. His pattern was the same in both - a polite approach to the bad guys, usually with some kind of compromise or offer. Sometimes even reasonable and mutually beneficial. Then, when the bad guys inevitably refused, he would start completely dismantling said bad guys by hitting all their weak points.

My parents took me to see the 3rd Equalizer in theaters, and I had to binge-watch this and the second one the night before. Out of all 3 they got better and better, and I enjoyed the 3rd one the most. Overall, the films are great, my main issues were with the villains, though. For me personally, it was odd because depending on the scene it felt like they switched up between actually being intimidating and trying too hard to pretend like they were tough guys. Obviously, to some extent, they were, but it would shift so frequently it gave me whiplash lol My biggest issue of all was their accents shifting. They had such great actors to play the villains, but the accents felt like they needed to be more accurate. They kept saying this gang was supposed to be Russian, this gang was supposed to be Irish, etc. but a majority of them didn't have the accent of the gang they represented. It kept taking me out of this one whenever the villains were on the screen. I love David Harbour in Stranger Things but his accent was one of the ones that killed me the most. He sounded like he was just straight up from Boston, but he was supposed to be a part of the Russian gang? I wish they just left all the nationality stuff out of it and it wouldn't have bugged me so much 😂Like with John Wick they weren't representing specific nationalities, but it felt like they just so happened to speak Russian which was more believable. They learned it, to communicate with one another so others can't tell when they are insulting them or saying something bad.

This is based on "The Equalizer" TV series that ran from 1985 to 1989. As in the end of the movie, the TV hero is an ex-agent who puts out an ad offering to help anyone who can't get help anywhere else. "Equalizer 2" has similar action to this, but expanded to more locations, and he's not just helping people he knows but strangers, some of whom answered his ad. There's another Equalizer TV series running now, with Queen Latifah as McCall. Unlike the movies, in both TV series McCall has associates, experts that they work with to bring down the bad guys.

Other awesome Denzel movies are Crimson Tide, Virtuosity, Devil In A Blue Dress, John Q, American Gangster, Training Day, and Flight. Just watch them all.

Another great Denzel Movie. Several of my other Denzel favorites are Man on Fire, Remember the Titans and John Q, But there are many many more that I love also; such as Out of TIme, Philadelphia, The great Debaters, Crimson Tide, The Hurricane, and The Siege, etc....

Honey is great against infections, so what he does is he cauterize the wound with the honey and it kills the infection in the infected tissue.
