As i said before i think on this channel i do not think But daddy i love him is about 1 person. It is more about the backlash that she gets each time she has a new beau, and where before it were outsiders who were calling her slut now its people who call themselves fans trying to make her dating life almost impossible, in guy terms we call that c**k blocking. They tried and succeeded with Matty and then tried again with Travis. It's why i came looking here not believing what suddenly got written about a football player that i followed and that never seemed to be problematic suddenly got portrayed as being dumb (squirle) possibly abusive (he plays football after all) and a cheat (15 min fame girl from that dating show). The whole TTPD tour was electric ^^ so much production. And with Taylor writing parts of TTPD during the Eras tour don't you think that she wrote some of the songs with touring in mind? This was my first time seeing a "new" show and i am impressed by the excitement and passion of the Swifties.

I was giggling along watching! So fun!

I always took the line "All the wine moms are still holding out but F em, it's over" as a reference to all the people refusing to believe she and Joe were really broken up, begging Joe to come back etc. They were still holding out for her and Joe. She's telling them it's over, she actually is with Matty and she doesn't care what they think. I don't believe the last verse was originally written for Travis. The whole song follows the storyline of Love Story, her parents didn't approve, she wanted to run away with this man, eventually they came around and Romeo told her to go pick out a white dress. I think the last verse is her imagined, hypothetical happy ending to this scenario, which obviously never happened with Matty. Now that the happy ending has come true with Travis, she's leaning into it and retconning a bit. Love it!

Cool to see your reaction on this, this was definitely an exciting time learning what changes had been made to the Eras Tour. The TTPD set is pretty spectacular, I like the Who's Afraid of Little Old Me performance and the skit leading into I Can Do It With A Broken Heart. I was hoping for the Smallest Man bridge and some of her vocals in this set were insane. The only disappointment about the new show is that she cut Long Live. It's really quite bizarre to me that of all things, she cut one of only two Speak Now songs, one which is very beloved by fans. She could easily have cut something like Bad Blood instead 😞
