Based on 35 years of combined Marine Corps and civilian leadership experience, inquiry and study, Sean Georges has come to the inescapable conclusion that the very essence of authentic leadership is servant leadership. Servant leadership is based on timeless wisdom and human nature. It is not a style or a method. Servant leadership requires a simple and powerful perspective shift that allows each of us to lead authentically through service to others, in ways that align with and result in mission accomplishment. This talk will illustrate the fundamental perspective shift required of a servant leader, using a story surrounding a dramatic event, to enable the audience to understand and embrace this perspective. This talk will challenge you to embrace your personal responsibility to lead, as a servant, in your own life.
Sean Georges has come to the inescapable conclusion - based on timeless wisdom and human nature - that the very essence of authentic leadership is servant leadership. A combined 35 years of Marine Corps and civilian leadership experience has lead Sean to study the simple, yet powerful, perspective shift that enables each of us to lead authentically. In addition to extensive community service, Sean is a frequent speaker on leadership, employment law and human resources issues.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx
