@@blessedbygaia6862 I'm a bass player also playing guitar. Using a bassist foundation, cool unordinary stuff came out of the guitar, then I noticed myself transferring guitar stuff back to the bass... cross pollenation is cool. I don't use a guitar pick, nor any fingerstyle guit technique. I use Claypool's technique. Try that man.

the natural minor shows up a lot in heavy metal and hard rock, like the song "little sister" by queens of the stone age. I only mention that song because i was learning it earlier today and they utilize this "b6 - 5 - b3" lick as a lead in to the main verse riff. using that minor 6. Love the dorian too, and your tone is amazing. Great video 👍

Rich , I've never come across your channel before, but as a bassist myself, the tone of that Jazz in the opening has totally pulled me in! Subbed for more.😊👍 EDIT: Also wanted to say that your bass part at 7:38 is also very reminiscent of the bassline to Funky Broadway, as played by Tommy Cogbill. Its a choice of notes that is almost pulling a country influence over into funky music. Love it!
