The Esteban Herrera Trio 

Esteban Herrera is a pianist, composer, arranger, producer and music director originally from Mexico City, living in Canada. Born in 1979, he began his musical journey at just 11 years old. Esteban’s music features his own original approach to contemporary world jazz with Latin heritage, exploring odd meters and complex rhythms, all whilst letting the improvisation lead the way on each live session and recording. In addition to arranging, playing piano and writing his own music and lyrics, Esteban is an artist at every level. He also produces and directs his albums on top of leading the design on all of the artwork for his projects.
This special performance from the Esteban Herrera Trio was recorded live on location in Calgary and features Luis “El Pana” Tovar on drums / percussion and Daniel Nava on bass. This performance is part of the 2021 TD JazzYYC International Jazz Days Festival.
