Thanks! Emhyr is very similar to the English version, maybe a bit more voiced "h", at least for me. Very weird that they made it sound like that in Russian, especially that Polish people I'd think translate the games (at least they're a part of the team)

​@@Artreii The translators of the game had to use the names from the Russian translation of the books, since people had already got used to it. Yevgeny Weisbrod, the translator of the books, sadly didn't pick up on many foreign names in the Witcher, therefore there're many examples of the strange translation of said names.

@@Artreii Here's a bit from one of the articles on the topic of Witcher's Russian translation (I was too lazy to translate it properly, so I used DeepL, sorry if the text sounds weird): 'Also, Weisbrot destroyed the atmosphere of Nilfgaard, turning it into the realm of “g” and “s”. In the original, all Nilfgaardian names are Celtic, taken from the Irish or Welsh languages. The same is true for dryads and partly elves. So Кагыр Маур Дыффин аэп Кеаллах is actually Кэр Мавр Даффрин эп Келли (Fortress Great Valley son of the Fighter, if literally), Эмгыр is actually Эмир (Welsh for “ruler”), Груффыд is Гриффит, and Эитне is Энья (yes, as a singer).' Ah yes, the yearly Witcher video haha, and yeah, Ciri is the weirdest, still, and Jaskier sounds better to me than Dandelion, so I'm glad they went with that ^^ I've read two books so far (the collections of stories), loved them, gonna read more soon, and I just finished the first season of the show - pretty boring beginning imo. I was hoping for a better season 2, but yeah, those reviews aren't the best :/ I'll still see it for a long-haired Jaskier ;) So these are my thoughts, would love to hear yours!

​@@Artreii yeah, long-haired Jaskier supremacy! it's not like i'm against the series, i will continue to watch it, but it could've been better ( i still can't get over the fact how they've messed the plot/ especially the Brokilon forest arc and other things...don't want to spoil them for you) also if u don't want to get confused by a few things in the series you'd better finish the books first(And it's great that you're reading them! i noticed u like Regis so i'm sure you would like the way he is in the books!)

I probably won't finish all the books anytime soon, so I'll try watching the second season anyway - I want to see it for myself ;) I've heard some fans even want to showrunner to step off her position, maybe she focused to much on making a hit, not an immersive, "authentic" story... Well, idk right now, but I can't wait for the game remaster though haha
