In this video, I conduct a full review of the Begode Mten Mini. I was extremely surprised at how great this EUC is - it wasn't what I was expecting at all. I was expecting an EUC for kids and beginners, but that wasn't the case. What I found was very different from that I thought it was going to be - and so much fun.

The FAA allows you to bring a battery up to 160 watts only if it is removable, otherwise if it is integrated, it cannot exceed 100 watts.

Having a lot of fun with this wheel as well! Tons of fun in the house, and despite it not being easy to mount, my 8yo daughter is loving it for how maneuverable it is. We even did some mild trail riding with it and I noticed it handled the bumps much better with her on it than it did with me. I noticed the tire was inflated to over 60psi from factory. I dropped it to 30psi and that seemed to help a bit with the bumps on dirt as well. The light on it is really impressive as well. My daughter and I will ride at dusk sometimes and it's an impressive little beam:). Hill climbing was a surprise as well. I really worried it wouldn't work with me on it basically at all on inclines (190lbs), but I easily tackled a 20% grade on grass with no beeps. Not powerful compared to large wheels, of course, but super impressive it can do that!

I'm sorry but I love mine so much that I feel that I have to chime in on almost every video here, just a fun solid little wheel. I padded mine where it meets the shin, it helps mounting and doesn't hurt like it did before, I will however try your "hop on" method. Great review!!

Very good that pendulum and backwards riding. Now as you already know how to do it, see you repeating the performance on a Master Pro... 😜

@@WheelGoodTime I have no issue to stop and go backwards on M-Pro, but when I want to stop going backwards and go forward again, I have to step down. I guess I can not (read: I am afraid to) lean forward more into it. But I can pendulum very well if I keep one of my hands on a wall or pole 😝

Thank you for making a first impressions video and a follow up review about this wheel. No one else has. You have saved me from wasting $500 on this. I will wait for someone to make a small wheel that understands what people want from the mini format.

There is an updated version of the IPS I5 that is coming later this year. Much narrower (backpackable), ultra lightweight, and likely a little bit more power than this - maybe that fits the bill a little bit better for you? 😊
@Mr.N0.0ne
@Mr.N0.0ne 4 месяца назад
I know the thread you got that notion from. Jason said the i5 format is being revived and that's all we know. It's not related to the Luffy though. I don't think we should say that it will be more powerful and ultra light weight when nothing is known yet.

Will the pads work on MTEN4? It seems really better than Mten4 stock pad. thanks
@WheelGoodTime
@WheelGoodTime 4 месяца назад
I don't believe so - not without effort, anyway. The mini is a little bit smaller than the mten4, and the pads have a cutout on one side for the motor cable that I think will not be compatible with the mten4 just due to the slight size difference.

I think I'm going to make a (pretty short) dedicated video on how to do that pretty soon - I have to refer to google every time I pull out a new Begode EUC from the box... and then forget the procedure about 5 seconds later 😂 I'm working on editing a Kingsong S16 Pro review at the moment, but definitely on my near-term radar.

Being an owner of both the mten3 & mten4, the mini isnt for me. But ya, totally agree its 10x better than the KS basketball aka s9. Totally function with its limits even for adult. & Best of all, its cute as heck. & ya no mten wheel is really a good beginner wheel. A2 is much x10 for that purpose or even as a all weather short dist commuter

EDIT: Something something we should stop using the Voltage as a measurement for power as it's not that simple. Better use the Power (W) rating from the manufacturer, since that is a summary of the Voltage, Current, and Resistance of the device, although there is still some unpredictable variation to it. Disregard the things I said about using the battery specs to calculate power. Although the battery specs are important, as long as it doesn't bottleneck the motor, it's all good. Original post: Nice review! 9:14 Hate to sound like a besserwisser, but the EUC community should start smashing the lie that "more Volt = more power, less Volt = less power". You can have four 42V batteries plugged into the same BMS to quadruple the power output, but it would still be a 42V system. A better measurement of power is the Watt output which you get from (Voltage) x (amount of battery packs) x (Amp/current output of each cell), so for Mten Mini 42V x 1 x 25A = 1050W, with peak output around 50% higher at 1500W. But since the Mten Mini motor is rated at 500W (maybe 1000W peak??), that will be the limiting factor, not the battery.

we're getting torque by repelling magnets of magnetic field generated in coils current = voltage / resistance (Power = voltage * current) more current = more torque how to get more current? 1. by lowering resistance (guess that part is already minimised af) 2. more voltage peolpe like you are funny, but somewhat harmful for others)
@Erafune
@Erafune 2 месяца назад
@@sergejbykov30 Do you understand that EUCs has multiple batteries? Which EUC do you think has the most torque: One with a single 100V battery, or one with four 80V batteries and four times the capacity and total Watt output?
@sergejbykov30
@sergejbykov30 2 месяца назад
@@Erafune motor does the action, not batteries) again, we are getting movement from magnetic field, it gets stronger when we are pumping more current into coils read this again, you need to understand that first there are just 2 ways to increasing current (I = U / R): decrease resistance (it is done by motor manufacturers) increase voltage also manufacturer can make magnets and coils wider, closer to the outer radius, arrange magnets in hallbach array etc. etc. but most of those tweaks are already made or difference is too little
@Erafune
@Erafune 2 месяца назад
@@sergejbykov30 I see. Thank you. I think I understand my misconception now. The motor can't pull unlimited amps no matter how many batteries are in parallel. Since both Voltage and Resistance have maximum values limited by the hardware (maybe regulated by hard/software to allow lower power output?), the max Current also has to be a set value. As long as the battery packs can provide the current that the motor wants, the amount or size of battery doesnt matter. I noticed something very surprising. Since the Resistance in a device is constant, if you were to double the Voltage, the Current would also double. But that means quadrupling the Power (P = U * I) as both multipliers in that equation is doubled. To double the Power, you would need only 42% increase in Voltage and Current. So higher Voltage can increase max Power very rapidly. I will rephrase my problem with the fixation on Voltage as a power meter. An EUC with 20% higher Voltage, but 50% higher Resistance due to poor design, will be lower in Power. Only if we assume that all EUCs has the same internal Resistance, would it be as simple as "more Volt = more Power". We dont usually get the Specs on the Resistance (R) or the Current (I) that the EUC motor operates with, but we can calculate it. 9000W peak motor on 134V = 67A peak current. 134V / 67A = 2 ohms. I believe that when we talk about how powerful an EUC is, we are better off using the Power rating that the manufacturer provides, since EUCs on same Voltage can have different Power and Torque figures. But then again, the Inmotion V12 HT and V12 Pro both have 2800W motors, but one is rated 123 Nm torque and the other 160 Nm. So looks like we're damned either way. I'll look through my posts to make sure I'm not spreading misinformation.

I'm 56kg...still thinking hard if I should buy this...really love how it looks but the max speed is just too low. I really want the Mten4 buy so hard to find here in Thailand and the price is way higher than this one...maybe if I can get the Mten4s...that might be the best choice for me. I a beginner though...feel free to suggest me anything

Also the TSA at the airport isn't gonna look up the specs of your EUC. Just pack it in the bag or better yet push it through the airport and tell em it's legal. Oh yeah you gotta figure out how to mount a trolly handle to it as well.
@WheelGoodTime
@WheelGoodTime 4 месяца назад
@@jamesordwayultralightpilot with the mini it's important to manage your expectations. The mten4 has superior specs, no argument there. But it's also quite a bit more expensive for a similar sized package. For the price tag and the build quality/durability, I think it's very good. I also filmed a segment about the trolley handle, but later removed it because it didn't flow well. They do have a trolley handle planned for the mini but I don't think it's really necessary for an EUC this small. It's easy enough to lift and carry wherever needed 😊
