The evidence for a cognate origin for the majority of all kimberlitic olivines
Andy Moore is currently an honorary research associate of the Geology Department of Rhodes University, Grahamstown.
Andy was founder Director of Kalahari Key Mineral Exploration (Pty.) Ltd., a private Botswana-registered mineral exploration company in 2016. Between 2009 and 1026, he was Vice President (Exploration) (Diamonds) of African Queen Mines Ltd., with responsibility for the design and management of the company’s diamond exploration programmes in Botswana and Namibia and technical support for the company’s gold projects in Kenya and Ghana.
Prior to joining African Queen Mines, he was with Pan African Mining Corporation, with responsibility for the design and management of diamond exploration programmes in Madagascar, Botswana and Namibia.
He has also acted as an independent geological consultant working for, amongst others, De Beers, Rio Tinto and the Trans Hex Group, focused primarily on the interpretation of kimberlitic indicator (pathfinder) mineral anomalies in the Kalahari environment.
Andy has been key in forming Somabula Explorations (Pvt) Ltd.) a privately held, diamond exploration Company working in Zimbabwe, and AMPAL (Pty.) Ltd., a Botswana-registered diamond exploration company.
