Here's a quick peek at how to enable the console on the will new game - THE EVIL WITHIN!
No talking just sampling what the commands do.
I used the elgato to capture this footage and it was odd to note that I could not get shadow play to record the footage using the geforce experience app..
Certain commands disable the 30 FPS lock - and enable a fuller screen.
Note that the full screen ultimately is more of a zoom feature and will cut off the sides of the in game image which explains Bethesdas recommendation to stick to 1.8 to 2.0 if you want a fuller screen experience.
Read below:
To unlock the debug console, right click on The Evil Within in Steam, hit properties, then go to 'set launch options'. Enter +com_allowconsole 1 to activate the console in-game using the Insert key. Here's the full list of commands
R_swapinterval NUMBER
Sets the FPS lock. Note that the numbers below are negative.
-2: This is the default, set to 30 FPS. This is the officially supported frame rate
-1: This sets the FPS limit to 60. Fully playable, although there may be quirks (we’re going to fix these).
0: This fully unlocks the FPS. We do not recommend playing above 60. We will not fix any issues above 60.
God
God mode. You are effectively invincible, and certain enemy kill moves will not be used against you (Laura, for example, will not jump on you)
Noclip
Allows you to walk through walls
G_infiniteammo
Unlimited ammo (provided you have at least 1 bullet when you enable this)
G_stoptime 1
Stops time. Note there is a bug right now where using this command causes a UI element to appear on screen. We’re looking to fix that in the near future.
Re enable time with g_stoptime 0
Toggledebugcamera
Separates the camera from Sebastian so you can freely move around the
R_forceaspectratio NUMBER
Sets the aspect ratio. Default is 2.5, which is our official aspect ratio.
0 is full screen, but not ideal. 1.8 or 2 is probably most comfortable for those who don’t want bars.
Com_showFPS
Turns on id’s native FPS counter
Startslowmotion2
Slows down time
Stopslowmotion
Disables slow motion

Just another tidbit, there's a command entry which metions "MULTIPLAYER" = 0 so that may hint on a future feature of the game....

amigo espero puedas ver mi mensaje pero necesito tu ayuda xfavor el video es muy buen arregla mucho ese detalle de tener taaan pegada la camara a la cara pero yo hace 6 años que conocí este juego logre usar un comando que alejaba la camara hasta poder ver las piernas de sebastian no recuerdo esos comandos pero si era algo relacionado con tus comando diria q no recuerdo los valores y ya intenet poner algunos pero se ensancha feo la imagen a en peor caso me vota

I feel when you are removing the black bars you are getting too close the character. Other than that, wish they could had made the game better with the 60 FPS.

Initial play testing shows that with my current specs the 60FPS unlock dips no lower than 40FPS. I've been using the Aspect ratio between 2.1 and 2.2 (you can go into the hundredths and even more decimal places). It should be noted that some of the messages are overlays meant to only work at the 2.5 AR meaning that these do not scale with the AR setting and will look a bit off when displayed. The game handles real well with a KB&M and the camera automatically compensates for what side of cover you are on. It plays somewhere in between the RE4-6/Revelations series and Alan Wake as far as character "handling". Also very "atmospheric" as the cliche goes... I think many deaths await me.

I got the fix add R_swapinterval but add a 0 not -1 this will unlock your fps to the Max and on msi afterburner lock to 58 fps there will be no dips

hey guys if anyone is getting the issue with using full screen ; where the portion of the screen visible is basically the top right portion, i did a search found a thread on a fix , simply right click shortcut, and go to "properties" then hit "compatibility" then check the box that says " disable display scaling on DPI" then enter game and go settings now try fullscreen :) I found this info somewhere, it might help someone. After two hours trying to sort this out, this is what fixed it for me.

Question is, how do you SAVE the console commands so you don't have to redo 'em everytime you open up the game?

without digging further it should be noted that when you run the FPS display command the game saves settings, so there probably is a file that specifies the launch parameters Ohhh - But it also saves your last commands (like a linux console) so you can hit the up key to access your last command even if you close and relaunch the game.

***** Okay now i feel dumb..just add whatever codes you want to the properties space after space. Now it's always there when i boot it up. No more intro vids, 60 fps etc, etc.

Keroro Taichou Just paste this in your properties or "Launch Options", buddy: "+com_allowconsole 1 +r_swapinterval -1 +com_skipIntroVideo 1" And as you can see, a skip intro vids code is in there as well, so that's nice. Also i HIGHLY recommend downloading Flawless Widescreen. It has a load of fixes added to the plugin you install for The Evil Within. Aspect ratio fix to make the game look a little more crisp, the letterbox fix of course, bloom fix, AND most importantly a FOV fine tuner FOR the letterbox fix so the game won't look zoomed in whenever you have it fullscreen, or when you're aiming down your sights, etc. I recommend 13.25 FOV for fullscreen, and the default 0.00 FOV adjustment fix for letterbox. Tested it out on cutscenes, gameplay, it's just looks the best EXACTLY at that value, at least for me, my monitor. Though fullscreen does still have the sniper scope & blood splatter effect bugged & by now I'm used to the 2.5 ratio, maybe partially 'cause of RE4. And though the PC gamer doesn't want to admit it, it doesn't look bad, and with the slight film grain i have on it, it does remind me of horror movies. But I'd rather NOT have 5 & 1/2 inches cut off my screen & have it as a choice in the menus. I also don't know what exactly the "HUD Fix" does, but the "HUD Blackscreen Fix" actually 'causes a bug during black screens for me, so I'd probably keep that off. Anyway, enjoy.
