Elvis Presley was one of the most talented and prolific musicians of all time. But all the good fortune that may come with that, also brings evil. Elvis was loving and caring to the people around him, which lead to loyalty...but other times manipulation.

Yes. Elvis had his faults like every single person on this planet. He wasn't perfect because he was human like everybody else. People need to realise that Elvis tried to be the best person he could be, and he did a dam good job of it. If the colonel hadn't gotten his hands on Elvis. Ep would probably still be alive today. Everyone needs to leave him alone and let him rest in peace like you said.

Elvis Presley had more girlfriends than boyfriends because he was highly sensitive. Sheila Caan said that Elvis knew what she felt before she realised it herself. Why did so many people, who lived on Elvis' pockets and profited from his fame and fans, ended up betraying Elvis and exposing all his secrets? Was it envy, anger about the end of their gravy train or a combination of two?

46 years after his death, people are still calling Elvis the King of Rock'n'Roll, but he didn't like that title, he believed that the only King was God and he actually told this to his fans several times, he said: I believe that God is the only true king. I think that Elvis is and only the king of Rock'n roll, he is the king of music because he can sing very well in any genre, but what do you think, is he good enough to be called a music king? Elvis was really in my mind, the King of GOSPEL and other music, no one does it better then him, he is best known for making Rockn roll famous, so he was called The King of Rockn roll, but he never liked that people called him that. He repeatedly stopped fans who said that he was the king of rock'n roll, telling them: I'm just an entertainer and singer, God is the only true King (sometimes he added and that it Christ)!! Elvis was born in the poor parts of Tupelo Mississippi and it was mainly African-american living there, at the place where Elvis family lived there only lived 3 more white family's, the rest was colored people, his family was dirt-poor until he became an artist after singing in a mainly colored peoples church during his childhood. Did you know that he had several friends that where Afroamericans, one of his friends where James Brown, yes THAT James Brown (The King of Soul), another artist was B.B King, yes that B.B King... He also was a good friend with Mohamed Ali, yes the GREATEST boxer of all time, he even had a Robe made for him, but it was to much bling on it so Ali wouldn't where it more then one time to a fight. He really admired Martin Luther King very much, Elvis felt that all people are equal, unfortually he never got to meet him, that would have created to much problems for both of them at that time. He had several medical problems, Glaucoma, (Insomnia) sleeping problems, irritable bowel syndrome and that will make you constipated, these are things that affected his real life and made him need medication to function. Yes, he took medicines that today are considered to be called drugs, but at that time doctors prescribed it to him and to ordinary people, they did not know of the problems it could give people (side effects). He never took any so-called street drugs, but unfortunately he did not realize that those medications would be a problem for him, he thought that they where ordinary medicine because his doctor prescribed them to him and to everyone else that needed it. Many of his relativs died at a relatively young age, so even if he wouldn't have the medication, he might have died at about the same age. He could never be alone and thus himself, at that time the word superstar did not exist, so nothing could prepare him for that kind of life. Did you know that a big group of white people actually smashed his records and wanted to ban his music, just because they called the music he did so called N... music, that is so painfun to think that some people actually can think like that, skincolor is just color and nothing more, when will people realise that? There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he acctually conducted his musicans and back up choirs all the time ! He is the only person to have 2 records gone to sell Gold and 2 to to sell Platinum since he died. Elvis is also in almost every genre of Music Hall of Fame (5 that I'm sure of Rock 'n' Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly and Rhythm and Blues), if Gospel is a genre in Music Hall of fame, then he should be in there to, but no one else is in more then perhaps 2 genres. Not bad for someone who never took a single singing lesson, yes he sang in church so perhaps he learned a little there, right? Something else that people tend to overlook: He always conducts his musicans and backup singers, he never gets credit for being able to do that. Imagen you are a singer, you have great musicans, you have great backup singers, no Guest Artists, no Autotune, no Lipsinging and no Fireworks, now all is about your skill, could you handle that pressure? At the time when Elvis started, then Autotune did not exist yet and when it became availible, then he still did not use it, he did not need to, he always sang so that you could hear every word that he sang, the Fans always felt that he sang to just you ! That is what Elvis did in over 1600 concerts (during his 20 years as an artist), despite having problems with his health, like his Glaucoma, the headlights must have hurt his eyes like crazy. He sang over 800 songs, I wonder how he could remember them all, he never vrote a song himself, so he had to remember other peoples lyrics, well that is amazing in it self. By the way he had Glucomea and that must have been difficult being in the headlights all the time, that could be why he sometimes closes his eyes, but also sometimes squinting ! This unfortually made him temporary blind after the shows, that is why they led him of the stage and into his car, that is something that not many people knew about Elvis. Elvis suits was made of 100% Polyester, or 100 cotton (I'm not sure witch one), it was originally a karate suit, it was very light, but it was hot, so it made him sweat a lot, he got some bad press about that, but if you give it all then you will sweat, it should be positive, right? About the deep basevoice JD Sumner (a member of The Stamps Quartet) he is the Basso Profundo, I think it's called that, it is the deepest base singer there is. A video about him helping others, look at this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CrJ1c9tm-C0.html Elvis made a show where all the money went to build the Memorial after Pearl Harbour, he talked to the nations about taking the Poliovaccin, Elvis took the first injection himself, he helped by donating a big amount of money to St Jude hospital, they fight against cancer (especially children with), he also gave away juwelery, gave away cars, he even gave away some houses to total strangers. Elvis started an organization that helps people to get out of Homelessness (Presley Charitable Foundation, Presley Place), this organization helps people even now close to 50 years after he passed away. A thing that you perhaps did not know: Elvis ALMOST NEVER did a show OUTSIDE OF USA, yes he did sing a few in Canada: 4 concerts, 2 in Toronto, 1 in Ottawa and 1 time in Vancouver (during the 50:s). When the Aloha From Hawaii (Live in Honolulu 1973) was showed it had close to 1.5 Billion viewers from around the whole world and 3.7 billion people lived on earth at this time, so it was close to 1/3 of all of the population on earth that viewed the show, it was the first time a single artist was shown LIVE around the globe. Video of Mohammad Ali speech after Elvis died: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PO8Kq_3KTyI.html I have to say that I loved being at Graceland and seeing his home, first we were at the house in Tupelo where he lived in his early years, he was born there ! You don't have a guide taking you on a tour, you can go all over yourself, but stay outside of the ropes and do not attempt to go upstairs, the outside is huge, so is the house, but you don't realise that from the front of the house. I don't regret for a second that I was there, or that I stood at his grave site and said out loud that this is for the humanitarian Elvis/the person/the man and then I gave him a military salute, the others there just looked at me and asked if I didn't like his music. So I told them that he was clearly one of the best singers and artists ever, but I loved his big heart more, he helped so many people without getting credit for it, he didn't want the credit of helping others, he did it out of love and respect and to me that is what true charity is all about. This PLACE (GRACELAND) should be a protected part of music history and also American history forever, I think that people will keep coming for years and years and years to come ! Elvis did lots of things for America to, he helped in a big way to avoid getting Polio (he took the vaccine in a TV show and that made the interest for taking the vaccine to go up from 0,6 % all the way up to 80 % in 6 months), so in 6 months he got 79.4 % more of the American people take the Polio vaccine and shortly after it was eradicated from USA, he also helped in the fight to defeat Cancer by helping to build up St:Judes children cancer treatment clinic by donating a huge amount of money to them, he also helped to build the Memorial over Pearl Harbour and many other things!

I was never an Elvis fan as I was a child during his big fame. As a teen in the late 60s my mom and I were in the car and his song "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" came on the radio. I always liked that song, and when it ended my mom, a little surprised, said he has a really good voice. My mom lived to age 97, and for whatever reason that moment stuck in my mind as a memory of my mom and me together. If for no other reason, that makes Elvis special to me. ❤

There have been and there are many documentaries about Elvis Presley. This one here was very interesting and a very good documentary about the late great and unfortunately very flawed Elvis Presley who was one of the greatest of the all time entertainers but after all is said and done he was just a human being and like most if not all human beings he had his flaws along with his immense talent.
@jannekedevries2360
@jannekedevries2360 11 месяцев назад
Elvis Presley wasn't very flawed as you wrongly state. He was mostly too sensitive, which made him psychologically vulnerable, and too: conscientieus, achievement oriented, emphatic, generous, trusting, kind and protective. True, he was short-tempered, used too many prescription drugs, was afraid of personal confrontations and not always honest to his girlfriends, but those flaws were far supersided by his good characheristics. Elvis Presley took better care of the people around him than he did of himself. That's tragic; especially since his beloved daughter Lisa Marie was treated horribly by her narcissistic mother, a heartless golddigger, who sold the Presley-souls to the cruel Scientology Sect, that accorded Priscilla Beaulieu power in return for Presley-money.

@@carmenl163 Elvis' girlfriends were his own age except two: Priscilla, who targeted Elvis for fame and fortune, and mrs. Winkindale, who never said anything bad about Elvis and always remained friendly with Elvis. Priscilla is in essence a callgirl because at 14 she had sexual intercourse with Elvis' friend Currie Grant in return for an introduction to Elvis Presley. When Priscilla moved to Graceland she was almost 18! Elvis never had sexual intercourse with Priscilla before the wedding. He also didn't have sexual intercourse with Anita, June, Barbara H. and Dixie, his first girlfriends although he was 27 when Anita Wood left him in 1962. His "friends" Red and Sonny West plus Dave Hebler were dismissed because they were violent towards Elvis' fans, who sued Elvis for indemnifications! Red West didn't even wirk fir Elvis aby more when he was fired in 1976 but was still being paid. In 1975 Red West was playing in a movie. Since 1956 Red West has been mooching on Elvis' pockets. This is nothing new.😏 Every time I hear Lamar, I think he’s jealous of Elvis and he’s very very crude! And his comments about Elvis eating habits, Lamar has never been thin🙃 So many stars died of drug abuse but not 1/4 of them are mentioned, and certainly not this much. It’s so heartbreaking that he died alone. He always surrounded himself with people, helped so many people and yet no one was there for him. I wish people stopped talking about his drug abuse and the indignity of how he died. No one needed to know that! Let’s enjoy his music and let him RIP

Elvis had a god-given talent with charisma to top it off. Everyone wanted a part of him with Parker taking too much. He had health problems some of them inherited some self-inflicted. He lived in a bubble and really didn't know the real world. He only made it to 42 years old but he had a big impact on the world.

I have loved Elvis since I was 8,I am 62 now.I will never understand why Elvis did not take care of himself better.Spending money the way he did.The drug's.Not able to stand up to his Manager.Doing the bad movies,etc.Treating women and Priscilla the way he did.It makes me cry so hard watching this video.Elvis had so much to offer.But you could not tell Elvis what to do.Very sad.He ruined his own life.All the thing's that his friend's have done by writing book's about him.I would never do that to my friend.I don't know what Elvis paid his friend's but they could of left Elvis and they didn't.Elvis had alot of problem's.I wish his Mom would of lived maybe he would of been different.We will never know.I wish people would stop writing book's about him and just let it be.He is gone.His voice was so good and he was a good actor.But the fan's would not let him do the good movies they wanted the dumb singing ones.And he could not go out anywhere.I miss him to this day.Love you Elvis I wish he could of been more Happy about life!!!!!!

We all have the rights to our lives. Elvis was a working drug addict. In those days if you had the cash celebrities could buy anything from a doctor. Hearing these guys talk about how worried they had been but, obviously not enough to have him face the issue and throw him into lockdown. To blame fans of having that power makes them feel better. Sad yes , but money is the route of all evil. Hats off to Priscilla for making Elviis Estate larger than it ever was when he passed. Dam, Graceland was in foreclosure. Its how Priscilla came up with ideas to save the house and it lead to still employment in Memphis til this day.

Elvis knew he was sick, overweight, depressed and very tired. I truly believe he knew his time was short and it's such a sad thing that the people who claim they loved and cared about him didn't do more to intervene. I know they had a special relationship with him and he was the boss but in reality you put that on hold and try to help. Elvis was loved by many but it goes to show you no matter how much you are loved or how much money or fame you have you can still be lonely. He died alone but I think that's the way he would have wanted it, he was disgusted with the way he looked with the weight he gained. I want to believe that when he passed he wasn't alone but his mom and all the one's that passed before was there to welcome him home. Just as I believe he was there with open arms when Lisa Marie passed.

I didn't grow up with Elvis Presley (I was born 2001), I can't imagine how that must've been like, or even seeing him perform. Or even being kissed on the cheek by him (lucky girls!) After I've watched the movie with Austin Butler I became so fascinated and got an interest in Elvis. For some reason, his story and sadly how he died really gets to me and upsets me, because I really do believe he wasn't a bad person, he was flawed (don't get me wrong, he did mold Priscilla into what he wanted and that's straight up predatory). I do as well have a lot of respect for the people that worked for Elvis, I read the book that Priscilla wrote and he, according to her, had very bad outbursts of anger and would fire people and throw things. At some point, what are you as a bystander/friend going to do? Force him to stop? How??? They're humans too and they've been treated unfairly as well. But still I hope Elvis may rest in peace.

It may have been more helpful if his father tried some intervention as opposed to just being a potted plant while all of this was happening. I really regret that I never saw an Elvis live performance! I was part of the Beatles generation, but, as I got older, especially being a musical entertainer myself, I really should have seen him, say, at Madison Square Gardens, in the early 70s, NYC (Hunka Hunka Burning 🔥 Love lol). There are different reasons for why I admired him at different stages in his career, looking at old documentaries and TV shows. I love the romance of his very early, innocent, dreamy ballads, with that voice which had the perfect sensual quality for those tunes. And of course the fiery, explosive sound his voice created in his fast, hard renditions. Later, the master of stage performers, unbridled charisma and atomic energy to give to his public. I remember the day he died. Ironically, although I’m a native NYer, I was in a Virginian college town, down south, in a 7-11, when I read the front page of the local newspaper. I was a professional musical entertainer and music student at the time, so, of course, I took the news hard, as the people I lived around. R. I. P. , Elvis, my friend, I’m so sorry I never got to see you in real life.

Jerry is one who wanted his own career. He didnt want to live off of Elvis. He wanted to work and make a career. He only went back when Elvis needed him but they were always close friends. Jerry stood by his child, helped raise her and guide her when she needed a job... when she wanted to do music....Jerry drove to the hospital when Lisa was born and was there until the end. She was on his arm, holding her strong right there to support her right until her last public appearance. Speaking at her funeral. Priscilla and him are still best friends. I hate seeing every one talk bad. It was a totally different time back then. Totally different with ages. Girls looked older and most dated an older man at least 4 to 6 years older and he was 10 years older that Cilla. In 1950 the legal age to marry in the uk was 16 so good thing he didn't stay in Germany everyone would be all mad 🤦‍♂️🤣 We have tv shows about TEEN moms. I'm 16 and pregnant. Folks kill me making judgments. Acting like everyone is so chaste at least he didn't go all the way with her and he did marry her but waited until an acceptable age in the 60s of 21... he had a temper. He had depression etc. Wild people love his music and looks. Just crazy for him then they the millennial come in and start judging. Thank you for knowing Elvis and being a true fan. ❤ God bless the Boomers and Gen X 🤣🤣🤣🤣 love from Elvis' 3rd Cousin on his Mama's side ❤

Ca I was. Cloudy gray and humid. Ca is rarely humid. Peculiar. I had bought sonny and red west's book 2 weeks before he died. At TG&Y and felt baffled. It was the first of its kind. S8nce the internet and the wonders of you tube I've heard the Memphis mafia do interviews. I love these men. All of them. This particular one moved me as it's a compilation of several put together. The insight is years of experience with him, the drugs they all took the party life and indulgence. The divorces. The women. But these boys have a conscience. And heart. Only Larry and Jerry remain. I hope they're all in heaven joined together. This one is extremely special. ❤
