Some of this music is amazing. Would have btw been interesting if you showed some different ports since for example Asterix and Asterix & Obelix had hugely different game ports on the GameBoy.
Weird thought but I feel like Asterix and Obelix would make for a good musou style game. A good portion of the comics and games were them beating hordes of enemies anyway, just get some good writing in their and cartoon physics and I’d imagine it would be quite nice
Caesar's Challenge on CDi and PC is not a beat 'em all but rather a sort of virtual tabletop game. Otherwise, great video and glad to see my favorite Gaulish warrior being talked about outside from France or Europe!
A shame most of these games never came to the US, only a few made it to the US. I just got into the series myself, although I’ve only seen some of the animated movies based on the series.
Asterix & Obelix XXL is getting a remake and is coming out on PS4, XBox One, Nintendo switch and on Steam for PC this month. XXL 2 has already gotten a remake on the mentioned platforms as shown in the video, but XXL 1 is my personal favorite. I think it's called Kick Buttix in the US?
I still think the best Asterix PC/PlayStation game is "Asterix Mega Madness" from 2001. Unfortunately, no other Asterix game ever came close to this Asterix title. This game is depends on his age still a blast to play, especially in multi-player mode. Too bad there isn't a remastered version of it. Asterix Maximum Gaudium would be perfect on Steam with an online function and high definition graphics.

at around 4:00 when you show "Asterix - Caesar's Challenge".... I think you messed up and repeated the footage from the arcade game instead. What I've read about Caesar's Challenge is its a board game thing which looks nothing like what you show.

XXL 2 and XXL 1 are superior to 3 in every way and those are also on the switch as remasters they are 3D platformers, but i don't know if they have RPG elements in them, but XXL 3 is totaly top down, so no free movable 3D camera and thus visually an overall lesser experience
