With the push of a button, television in Germany became colorful .Until 1967 everything was black and white on German TV. And then came color on the screen, more than 10 years after the USA, and with a number of technical hurdles that also had to be overcome. Even the kickoff was not without faux pas. When former German Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Willy Brandt pressed the red button to turn on color at the International Consumer Electronics Fair in Berlin on August 25, 1967, a new era began. Germany became the first European country to receive color TV.
