I don't like it. The physics are worse, tire wear is too much on front, not enough for donuts. Eiger is disappointing, no short, not much of a jump, no rally.
@@CRL_Panda my uncle bust out the ps3 for me to play an older gran turismo when he figured out i picked up GT7, absolutely loved the feel and was so amazed at the quality on such older hardware compared to now. it was great.
I think a track maker would be better than anything cause then we could recreate the ones we don’t have yet no need to wait for them to make it perfect. Also recreate the local tracks to practice for track day man
If you grew up in a small town, the feeling of seeing the new Eiger Nordwand (and other original GT tracks) is like seeing your hometown change after you've left for many years. All these modern change is nice, but then it seems all what you've remember of that place has disapeared. I've spent about 100's of hours playing GTHD doing time trials and drifting, eagerly waiting for GT5, so seeing this track again really hits me.
I personally think the track has kept the majority of it’s character from a drivers perspective which is nice. I know people miss the jump and the tunnel, but for me it’s not a major change, the surrounding area still looks great too! But you are absolutely right, bringing back old tracks with a modern twist does eat into the Nostalgia a little…. Nothing to say there won’t be ‘original’ versions of original tracks making a return in future GT titles 😉 Based on Grand Valley, they are clearly not concerned about breaking any sort of realistic locational timeline/narrative!
Really pleased to have this track back. Many an hour was spent drifting round this track. I do miss the tunnel and the ridiculous original pit lane but overall it still has the feel and flow it always had. One thing when driving it though is it seems smaller somehow than i remember. Not by loads just minimal as if the length of all the straights are like 95% of what they were. Im sure its just my memory playing tricks though. I am getting on these days 😂
Even tho I didn't race much at Eiger in GT5 and 6, it made me smile to see the track return and mostly intact. My only downside is no more tunnel driving, but at least the pit stop is shorter XD. I'm happy with this track.
Brilliant video!! Glad they brought it back, also the Sub Imp. Hoping to get GT7 and head back into the old games. Any PC Rally sims you’d recommend? Love the videos!
I remember playing the Eiger Nordwand in GT PS3 console and was just mesmerized more by the scenery than the race. It felt like racing in the clouds since everywhere it was blue sky and the view was just awesome! I didn't even know it was added on GT7 but good to know you can race on it again...gonna check this one out later..
Eiger Nordwand being referred to as Classic just makes me feel old. I remember playing this in GT5 Prologue. It felt so fresh, lovely track. That was 16 years ago, feels like yesterday.
Superb video, loved the segment referencing the history and previous versions. Dare I say it, I might just dust down the old ps4 pro and give this another go.
I remember seeing the Australian launch price of the PS3 being at $999. I was saving up for the cut priced version at $649 when suddenly I saw the price drop to $444, which was the first of the slims. I bought that literally within an hour of seeing that price
I'll be honest, I quite prefer the one from PS3 era. The track feels so authentic, feels like a rally stages or something, instead of professional level, and even the dirt stages, it feels quite proper
Great video! Love how you went through the history of the track, half of which I wasn’t aware of! Kudos for posting vids in 4K which most other Gt7 youtube loaders don’t seem to do. Liked and subbed, thanks! ❤
Really appreciated, thanks 😄 We always aim for 4K whenever possible, adds a few roadblocks at times (especially when capturing PS5!), but is worth it in the end. Welcome to the Traxion paddock, hope you enjoy our videos going forward as much as you enjoyed this one 😊🙌🏼
I was hoping a mention of the uncovered lost media featuring an unseen premium car in GT HD which is the Impreza Rally Car that the update makes reference to, with a beta version of Eiger that was closer to the hiking trail and more reminiscent of a tarmac rally stage. I'm not sure if the rally stages would return, but knowing how close in proximity it is to Grindelwald, I want to see that GT2 track from PS1 recreated as it's as good as Eiger was.
Fun fact, the 22B rally car was a cut premium car from GT HD, you can find some old footage of it. It's sweet that it has returned with the track it was originally paired with. Strange it never returned till now since Polyphony went through the effort of creating the model already. Though I guess for modern GT using existing assets is easier than something new lol.
I am a GT vetran. PD messed up with this track. The jump and tunnel were what gave the track its vibe ! PD should just give us new tracks rather than ruining what was great !
GT5 was the greatest game ever. It did not not require so much internet for multiplayer, and that is not including the chat being in the room. GT5 had track maker. There were so many tracks and Pikes Peak. I miss GT5. Graphics and sounds are better now, but the gameplay was so awesome.
The track maker was a really cool tool, I remember spending hours refining a track until it was fun and challenging, then challenging my friends to lap times
I also think the subaru and the track are the stars of the update BUT if having them it means we can’t ever get rid of the new physics I rather NEVER EVER have a free update anymore 😢
One thing that takes me out of the immersive experience is that cars never get any dirt/snow on them when they are on off road tracks. I understand why there isn’t full damage as they need licensing from manufacturers to show them damaging their cars I believe but not getting visually dirty is something that previous games had so why not bring it back?
Just hoping that if they ever add the dirt layouts in 7 or 8 (most likely), is they improve certain areas. I don’t think it can be denied that 7’s is quite fun to drive, though lacks some of the flair
I think the dirt layouts would be massively welcome, but you are right. They may well want to make changes to make it more realistic in certain sections?
I would love to be able to play GT4 on my PS5. Gran Turismo 7 looks massively expensive for the content. Doesn't look like there's a decent arcade mode.
Where is the rally stage? That was the biggest and best part of the track. The jump and classic pit lane where great but really for the meme, I don't mind that change but I do miss the rally stage quite a bit.
I do love this track, but the gt7 version feels like its had its soul ripped from it The tunnel isnt on the main track and the jump at the start has been nearly levelled and the rally layouts arent even in the game (yet?) I understand that these take a while, but what have they been doing since november?
I really disliked all the original tracks layout changes in GT7. Feels like they are a sht reboot attempt. But visually it's all pretty good looking. Cheers!
Be careful, you missed a version from the GTHD Prereleases the layout is very different from the one that appeared in the playable demo, it is closer to a rally style you can find something on GT Wiki but also on Giovanni Nigro's playlist here on RU-vid
The best tracks or majority of the best tracks are all stuck on GT4!! The Rally stages! And i actually loved the Matterhorn! along with Eiger and also Cape ring!! bring them all back! Also El Capitan! Also K Trail was epic! Matterhorn and Eiger K trail had an EPIC down hill last section if i remember correctly.... or if it was in reverse it was an epic hill climb into the sun!!!! which fell away!! Jesus PD so many great tracks not in GT..... PD are holding them back for GT8 GT9!! Massive tracks PD are obviously working on is Pikes Peak! theyre obviously holding it back or at least modelling these / laser scanning them... They have the license! Cote Dazure / Monaco will be amazing when finished.... Also that tight twisty italian track going through a village that i used to just play over and over in GT4 with a token red Alfa! that track Costa Amalfi!!! GT4 had proper rally and multi surface stages! Im also assuming that PD are working to bring in Isle of Man the ENTIRE island! thats just me speculating! But there was rumours of the PD team scanning the TT track just before GT6 launched! on the GT planet forums some dude from isle of man said they spotted a crew scanning the track or at least taking photos! Isle of Man would be such a statement track for PD to do plus all the shorter variations! Essentially the next Nurburgring type headline track would be Pikes Peak, Isle of Man BOTH epic long tracks for time attacks etc! One for rally and hill climb And both would be ready for when PD introduce bikes! Because they will eventually do that! But obviously inbetween these massive epic tracks will be epic circuits like Silverstone / Monaco and my wish for a track thats an alternative to Monaco would be Macau GP China! then we're missing tons more tracks and city tracks like London and im assuming its variations! As well as Hong Kong! Rome! Paris! Would love to see China's Avatar mountains! And im sure PD are planning on the future of cars and EVs and putting China on the map! Another city track they have to bring back is R246 or whatever... Playstation offices Tokyo IE TOO MANY great tracks to list!! And PD have their hands full! Because they dont just half ass these remastered tracks they properly implement realistic design changes.... surround them in the correct type of trees, orientate them in the real world..... correct starfield alignment and weather patterns etc etc crazy!..... We saw how painstaking PD get when bringing their legacy tracks back with Deep Forest? and that recent California remaster as well as with Eiger
Literally everything was stock! Purchased the car, drove it.😂 Maybe the only think would be moving torque distribution further rearwards using the in-car menu’s? I think mine was 25:75 to ‘encourage’ the rear 😅
The text refers to the subject of the video (Eiger Norwand), not the car that’s featured. That’s just the car I was driving when telling the story. Sorry for the confusion, hope you could enjoy the video anyway!
