Ok, this one is odd: you say one screen per game, but you add Maria's Game Over for Rondo of Blood, and then you don't add the alternative Game Overs for Portrait of Ruin (Sisters Mode has a different Game Over picture) and Order of Ecclesia (Dying in Dracula's castle changes the picture, and so does Albus Mode)?
To this day, SOTN Game Over is still so scary. The screen melting, the graveyard, and a creepy voice saying "GAME OVER HA HA" is really spine chilling.
@@rowtow13 Castlevania: The Adventure may be the one title that actually breaks records for the amount of Game Overs people can have if they want to actually finish the game legitimately.
For me Dawn of Sorrow's, Order of Ecclesia's along with Portrait of Ruin's first game over screen aren't scary for me but the second one in PoR really scares me
Symphony of the Night has more deaths than that depending on the attack you took, if you took fire damage he bursts into flames spinning, he can disintegrate into dust if he was petrified before getting hit or bubbles/ice emit from him if it was an ice attack he died to and he turns blue
Then there are situational voice clips. Oh, and there are _two_ English versions, with the more recent DXC version not recycling Death's Japanese voice like the PS1 did (in case you're wondering, the voice clip usually heard is used in the Saturn version).
For how odd the N64 one looks due to it being a 3D castlevania it’s game over is kinda powerful it’s just a simple image of an unfinished music sheet and a violin with haunting winds asking “do you continue this melody or do you let it be forgotten to the nightmares of the night?”
0:13 - Castlevania (1986 NES) : The simplest and best iconic in 8 bits. 1:42 - Super Castlevania IV (1991 SNES) : The one that slow burn. 6:20 - Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (2007 PSP) : The best theatrical version.
3:31 My Brother played This Game, And Sneakily See it When he got the game Over Screen.. THIS GAME OVER SCREEN TRAUMATIZED ME WHEN I WAS VERY YOUNG!, Now Looking it Back I'm Not Brave and Not Scared of it Anymore However this Game over Screen It's Still Haunts me To this day..
Richter dies: Game Over, for serious, so scary, wooooOOOooooo! Maria dies: TOO CUTE, UWU I'm surprised that they didn't use the same kiddie font for when Maria gets spanked in Castlevania: Judgement. And is it just me, or does Judgement have the saddest-sounding instrumental rehash of the OG "Game Over" tune?
I do know that in Lament of Innocence that a few bosses actually give death taunts at the game over screen if they kill you. The succubus I know for sure does.
@@G4System oo is that game rather challenging? Havent played it yet but I just ordered a copy as I just finished aria of sorrow! That's interesting though, I figured the game over screen you are seeing lots would be one of the original/traditional(whatever you wanna call them) castlevainias as you game over much more in those games 🤔
@@Ronnie_aus_Schnaxlreuth yay well I'm looking forward to some challenge then!! (I realise that this comment sounds a bit cocky but I'm not saying I'm the best player ever who finds every thing too easy I just like the challenge :) )
Wow that castlevainia 4 one was something. Simon still didn't actually get knocked back into the hole like usually happens in that spot many times but he still died just from not having enough health 😂 I put a laughing emoji but it's kinda sad laughing because I can feel the pain...😳
No Shanoa grounded death? iirc Order of Ecclesia had 2 death animations for Shanoa, one where she's airborne (shown in the vid) and one where she's on the ground
@@AkaiAzul in that case, why didn't he have the other two game over screens? He only added the one where you die pre-Dracula's Castle and not the one where you die in Dracula's castle or the one where you die as Albus.
@@baalfgames5318 I can't speak for the video maker, but I'm left to think they weren't aware of them or didn't bother playing far enough to showcase the other ones.
I do not see *anyone* mentioning this detail, in Harmoney of Disconance, not only is it using the original gameover theme, Juste's ring flew off his ring as he spilled blood, when I was younger I thought his gem broke from the fall but nah thay's Juste's blood, what a tragic gameover screen with so little done to it.
Order of Ecclesia has two Game Over screens. 1. Dying to Enemies 2. Dying to Dracula himself (he appears on the game over screen himself) A fact about Symphony of the Night - Android/PSP: Richter and Maria talk when Alucard loses in their fights.
I don't know why, but I always liked the later deaths where the characters bleed out. I feel like they were based off the Metroid deaths, but to the extreme. You really feel the impact of your failure as you watch your character literally die.
Love all Those videos, makes me come back to the 80/90’s every time ! As always, good job ! The deaths from the N64 games are unbelievably super bad for SOTN post games, as if all they learned at Konami has been forgotten…
Hombre, estaba seguro de que tenías un video mostrando todas las entradas al castillo de Drácula en los distintos juegos, pero no lo encuentro! Por casualidad lo borraste o algo así? Si me estoy confundiendo ya tenés una idea para otro video jaja
I believe that if you manage to actually die on the first screen in Castlevania you are either a really young child or you should probably never play any Classicvanias again.
@@BitsBeats I know, I know, I am aware of what this video was, it just made me think of the possibility of somebody actually dying there without trying to show it.
I forgot that was even the game over screen for Aria. Spoilers: You'd think it would be something about Soma losing himself to the darkness/becoming Dracula. But maybe there's a different game over screen after you learn the truth, 3/4th of the way through the game.
@@l.n.3372 iirc the Game Over scene of Soma (Dracula) sitting on the throne with Julius then appearing would happen if you lost against the Final boss Chaos. Or I think it also happens inside the realm?
This guy only makes castlevania videos? I remember following a guy that also made videos about metroidvanias in general, but I can't find those videos. Is this that channel? Were they deleted?
I'm going to make new videos of metroidvania games! Not just Castlevania (check the last 10 videos, theres other franchises). Yes... I've to delete some due to copyright claims. It's a shame
Que feo grito el de Haunted Castle xDDDD y quedó col0 arriba xDDDD Te faltó el de Castlevania de 3DS Por lo que veo eres fan de Castlevania o me equivoco?
alucard richter juste etc just slowly vanish when they die and what's creepy all enemies and bosses can do that when they kill the heroes csotn chod etc
Gonna play through the games since I bought both collections on steam. I know it's probably a cardinal sin but since I didn't grow up with the games been using the save feature lol. Even with it, still kicking my ass and I'm only on Castlevania 1 (having fun though)
2d castlevania: die floating in the air castlevania on 64: die in the most realistic way castlevania lament of innocence and curse of darkness: how could they say a word while he is dying? castlevania lord of shadow and lord of shadow second : excepted
