I like how if the one in CD was just one voice, it could be seen as an overdramatic depiction of Eggman laughing.(Like ganon does in Zelda 2, if one wants a comparison.) But there are three voices, especially that random out of place sounding female one when the only female character here is Amy. The implication would be that it's quite literally demons from hell laughing about Sonic's failure, which is...why exactly? This is intentional btw unlike that one secret, which was just meant to be a quirky joke with the JP bosstheme playing, but got twisted really hard by the US bosstheme.

I saw that both Sonic 1 and 2 were the re-released ports by Christian Whitehead, not the original Genesis/Mega Drive versions.
