Like all of us, Geoff has lived through good and bad times. He's come through with a good attitude. His music/ lyrics, voice, and overall comportment have always impressed me very much. I was fortunate to meet Geoff, and All the fantastic guys in the band many times in the 90's. They always struck me as serious musicians and very nice, down-to-eath guys. Original QR and Geoff mean a lot to me, and I don't believe there's another singer who can touch Geoff. No one ever has, and no one ever will.
@@AleYanok I know there are a lot of other great singers out there. There's something in his tone, expression, intensity, power, etc that just hits the mark for me!
@@michaelcunis8329 Don't really like Bruce too much... He sounds a bit strained to me and don't like his colour. But ok, I'll admit he's still one of the best.
Geoff Tate was and still is one of rocks best vocalist. He can STILL hit those E5 notes live to an extent. Back then in his heyday geoff was 25 and now he's 63
I have often discussed the best metal and hard rock singers and tried to create a list of the best. Geoff has always been in the top 20. I would spontaneously start the list like this: Geoff Tate, Michael Kiske, King Diamond, Eric Adams, Jon Oliva, Rob Halford, Ralf Scheepers, Hansi Kürsch, David Wayne, Ronnie James Dio, Midnight aka John Patrick Jr. McDonald, Matt Barlow.
THANK YOU for putting together this evolution! Really great to see the passage of time like this. Also, I've never seen a man go through SO MANY hairstyles in my life. He's had more than just the few shown here. And looked good with all of them!
I saw Geoff last year in Austin and I going to see him again this Sunday in Austin as well. Last year he played all of Empire and Rage of Order. This time around its a different mix of songs all together. Set list is really good and Geoff still brings it.
Geoff was simply the best or one of the best of the 80s and 90s... just a wonderful voice and still doing well these days compared to many others whose voices are shot... not mentioning any names like vince... lol
Geniální balada, arange dovedená k dokonalosti, tato hudba dokáže člověka odnést přesně tam kde je mu nejlépe.... dokonale odvedená práce... děkuji navždy 👏👏👏👏👏
If you listen to heart and Boston and Geoff their vocals are very similar in their ways of holding high vocal notes. I've seen queenshryche 3 or 4 times and to say they do not disappoint you. The way they play and Geoff vocals were on queue every time and actually liked hearing them in person more than CD or cassette lol yeah I am old too. For Geoff and Ann and Bruce Dickinson to be able to sing like this at their age is very impressive to me. Yeah they can't hit them all but still sounds good to me.
I think Rage for Order is Prog. Lots of time changes on that albums, and big time experimentation...........I consider QR a hybrid between power metal and prog metal...
@@gibsonlespaul796 How's that power metal for god sake. Kamelot, Powerwolf, Manowar, Avantasia...That's power metal. Which song is "powermetal" on Mindcrime? Absurd. Plus Operation: "Overrated"??? Bruce Dickinson, Axl Rose among others icons said that album is a masterpiece. Axl Rose himself introduced Queensryche when they were touring in 1989 for Mindcrime tour as "the best album of the last 10 years".
I can sum it up quickly. As he aged, he got fat and bald, and for awhile lost much of his vocal range too. He's still fat and bald, but he's worked to regain his range, and although it's not as good as it used to be, it's not bad nowadays
Super creepy that in his later years he's starting to look like a cross between my uncle and brother. And I find him attractive. I'm a sick individual.
For as he always knew, there will never be a true Queensryche without Geoff, as there shall always be the true Queensryche wherever Geoff might be. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Cuando se fue bruce dickinson de iron maiden lo hubieran llamado, iba ser otra la historia capaz, tiene un rango vocal igual que bruce o un poco mas mejor.
Creepy animation. On another note, I watched some of Tate's newer stuff and it didn't come off well either. The mix was pretty awful, with Tate's voice not coming through at all in some parts. His voice also was way off, but I'm hoping he was getting over a cold or something like that. He sounded "gravelly", and not in a good way, and even off key sometimes. I'm not trying to be an idiot throwing stones from the sidelines here. I really like what he's done in the past. Queensryche was great. I hope what I've been hearing isn't an accurate representation of his current stuff.
What a disappointing video. Nothing about the changing of his voice over the years. Instead, his face morphs and boils like the T-1000 in the vat of molten steel.
