there is also a reverse problem the fact that the hyperion is still the best weapon outside of dungeons despite being released years ago

well another problem skyblock faces is that it feels too weakly connected. Like none of the mining gear is helpful anywhere else like in combat or foraging (god forbid) but I think I do have a solution:- 1.) Make it so that instead of each weapon being crafted and/or dropped, you would need to do stuff like put it in the forge and if a new foraging update comes out, do something with that 2.) From now onward, each update should be focused on connected this disconnected mess, like a dungeon's rework where the livid dagger needs to be forged and you can only drop "livid's blade" (also usage for forging the shadow fury), and similarly for other weapons 3.) A slayer rework where the slayers are immune to magic damage and introduce magic weapons for the slayer and immune to any physical damage which is not coming from a slayer weapon and make the slayers as intense as a rev t5 4.) Bring updates to balance outclassed items (like an upgrade to the midas and everything) 5.) Make sure the games stays "connected", every new island makes each skill feel more disconnected from the other

the problem is that items need to be scalable with there difficulty to obtain e.g as new better items release older items become easier to obtain. However because power creep only occurs on old items created without a thought of this it is difficult to just rebalance the items because it doesn't help in the long term.

I think a big point is that everything has a requierement to use. You unlock superior before you unlock SA for example. Thats for this game sort of deals with powercreep

some old or obsolete items are expensive because they have very specific situational usage to end game players which can make prices of things weird

rebalancing old items or making them have some special niche, for example they buffed the aotd by adding the dragonfuse glove which increases the damage output by a significant margin, just do that for all of the older items and they will begin to be used once more

For some situation, Superior Dragon Armor Set could be good for something such as Renowned Reforged Superior dragon armor set with the full set bonus can give alot of Pet Luck and Magic Find for things such as Scatha, Ender Dragon Pet and other pet that are dropped from mobs. For the dungeon item part, it's kinda impossible since the Kuudra is going to be extremely tough without hyperion, or else people will only be able to clear with Midas Staff which isn't very viable for Kuudra since the existence of Blight and some other mobs i don't really remember their name.

I feel like the only disparity in terms of power creep is between the end island onto dungeons and the only reason I feel this way is because of the availability of these items, instead of meeting some kind of performance requirement like most other games, content is primarily locked behind completions, which enables the carry meta we see today it'd be a bit dumb to say that the armors between things like strong drag to shadow assassin/necron are useless tho, the armors have various other niche uses that end up keeping them in people's wardrobes far longer than simply being useful for a particular portion of the game would have them be, so I'm ultimately not bothered, especially because skyblock's content is very self-contained

there are reasons for stuff being more expensive and less like the sa and sup dragon armors are so different because sup is used for petluck and is rarer then sa which is made for damage

ModernSoldier did a damage comparison between ATOD + Dragonfuse Glove and Livid Dagger. ATOD did more dps but like always results may vary between profile to profile.

You making a big fuss for nothing, power creep in this game really isnt that bad. Wither armour and wither blades are now 3+ years old and they still remain some of the best gear in the game. I think your just blinded by nostalgia and hate dungeons.

I totally agree with your opinion, I just think he sees the bigger picture. Now hear me out. When superior was released it was 35m+, for about the same price you can get a either set and Tara helmet. That is just so much better. And honestly, I think that power creep is good, it makes the stuff that are still the exact same, cheaper, because everyone sells it for the better stuff. Meaning it is easier for new players

i feel like power creep is bound to happen with any game. if we were still in sup dragon armor, 90% of players would have finished the game already and be bored to death, without the goal of newer, better items, theres nothing to play for. And about the prices, those are determined more by how easily obtainable the item(s) is/are, not how good they are. Since dungeons is so accessible, dungeons items are cheap. But dragon armor is expensive cos a newer player who needs that armor cant just place summoning eyes for fun. F5 is free to enter, but a dragon costs upwards of 6 millions coins to spawn. Its all about supply/demand.

superior still has a use, aotd is only 1m while livid is 7m, reaper armor is still used in other aspects of the game, melee is still the best for voidglooms since it allows for easier mf swap, midas is the second highest dmg melee weapon with a golden dragon.

Imma be honest, I think dungeons obliterated any kind of power balance skyblock had, like before dungeons, everything had a purpose and it helped you to build up for the next upgrade, it felt rewarding for the time and effort you spent, there was ppl just manually grinding pigs at the farm island to get the pigman sword, people mining diamonds to get perfect armor, dragon parties, splash parties, everything felt somewhat connected, but now, its kind of a mess, about a solution, no idea to be honest, its been such a long time, there might be no solution, the power creep will just increase, dear god imagine if the new mid game in the future is gonna be hyperion and terminator

Simple just play Ironman, plays way better than just grinding coins to get something to only have to grind more coins, at the point where there is no point in acually grinding the context and instead just grind coins to buy the new items, Ironman plays way better if you acually want to have fun

bringing up the armor of the pack as an example of something left in the dust by power creep is fucking hilarious considering nobody used it in 2019 either. while there is obviously some power creep in the game, i really don't think most of the examples in this video are the best ones to showcase. shadow assassin in particular is a hilariously squishy armor set and superior gives more EHP than it and even necron, not to mention superior's use for pet luck and magic find. as an endgame player, owning a superior set is useful and owning a shadow assassin set isn't. that's why it's still more expensive than shadow assassin despite shadow assassin dealing more damage.

As an mmorpg owner, i hate skyblock's progression, it forces all players go with the META, the strongest item, the best item, there is no diversity or interesting builds. look at something like wynncraft, which you can have 10's of unique mythic items which make for so many cool builds.

i disagree so much, wont waste my time commenting though but bottom line is needing loads of weapons that r hyper specific is rlly gud, also slayer weapons are extremely useful, say atomsplit , it outclasses hyperion by a fuckload, i deal 3.5m per hit w atomsplit and 2m with hyp, and with hyp i dont even use crimson so i rlly deal 7x the dmg of hyp w my atomsplit

frozen blaze somehow defies power creep. its only been directly buffee once (twice if you count blaze pet) and it would be just as good as necron if it wasn't pet locked

This is why I enjoy playing Ironman, it feels like it makes progressions natural and you can't just buy items that aren't at your level of progression in the game yet. Ironman feels like the real way to play skyblock!

I just kinda hate it when admins focus on dungeons cuz then i just look in a lobby where a lvl 50 guy is in full necron and barely cata 24 with like 500m purse and like 30 days playtime its so rushed

Midas has actually a very good use for lcm on ironman and also for normal players, because the gilded reforge gives it +400 and the gdrag pet gives it +100 strength making it really good for lcm damage. Now you might be thinking, if you already have a gdrag and a high enough cata level to play lcm, then you should just have a Dark Claymore. But keep in mind that the midas is 50m and the Claymore is 500m, so it's 10 times cheaper and also can be used for ironman players and people who don't have M7 completion yet.
