Hello everyone, there is a small error in the video. The D4 was released before the D5. I misspoke. Sorry for any confusion.

There is no "cost" of production...because the Klingons don't use money. They only need the resources and manpower and machinery to produce their ships.

@desmond9945 ok..everyone I'd entitled to their own opinion. I will say that the d7 and k'tinga are of the same design but the k'tinga is far superior In all respects. Cloak for 1 example.

Loved the breakdown of the Klingon ships, as always, well informed and nice to see the different ships compared to each other. Could you do a similar breakdown of the Vulcan ships in the Pre-Federation days? The ones from "Enterprise"? Always loved those ships with the circular warp drive units - very similar in design to the prototype warp drive ship designed by NASA.

Sure, I will add it to the list. Vulcan ships have unique deign compared to other government within the Star trek universe.

Hey for more ships confirmed canon , check out the older Starfleet Command games , not the new mobile one . Few examples . The refit Enterprise 1701 that only needed a few people to run entire ship was the "drone" variant that several ship classes used . For Klingons there was the "Sword of Khaless" dreadnaught design that carried a giant disruptor cannon mounted on it (also found in Klingon Academy) . Personally loved the Bismarck class Federation ship , it was an Excelsior variant with a plasma torpedo launcher for it's main torpedo launchers similar to Gorn or Romulan . Finally those games had the Hydrans , those ships would be amazing on screen.

They got complacent. The bigger the house the more ships they could field. Still the feudal nature of the empire was a weakness

Awesome Ships. My favorite is the B'Rel Class. But you do realize that in reality a race so warlike and violent like the Klingons would never be able to build ships much less be Astronauts. They would be stuck on their planet due to their way of being.

There are no Klingon nerds
@granddukeofmecklenburg
@granddukeofmecklenburg 6 месяцев назад
The TOS klingons were much more "Human" personality wise... Warriors but alot more versatile. More intelligent. Enterprise also showed a more flexible klingon culture with the Klingon Doctor talking about the diminishing of intellectuals and heavier emphasis on the warrior mindset. So it seems the klingons were much more capable at one point, but culturally devolved at some point.
@damianlopez7630
@damianlopez7630 6 месяцев назад
@@granddukeofmecklenburg I see. But still. The way I see it is that the writers created a concept race that would be used to excuse and condone action scripts without too much explaining...much the way dirty rotten zombies satisfy that trigger happy desire for gun toting shoot 'em up action scenes in their shows. There is no moral ethical dilemmas to wrestle with. In reality a race like the "Kilingons" would never leave their planet. Or would blow themselves up on some ship. Like putting a bunch of violent lunatics on the International Space station. Or to pilot a Space Shuttle...not going to make it too far. The fact of the matter is that actual space travel takes science...technology...cooperation...and lots of order and calm discipline. Klingons can't even greet each other without a punch. But thank you for taking the time to offer an explanation...🙏👍💪🤝🙂

Nice video, but in my head, the D4, D5, D6, D7, and the K'Tinga class Battlecraisers may have the same general shape, but they look of the D6 is more like an amalgamation of the D4 & D5 While the D7 design is inspired from the D4 and string lines and integrates the capabilities of the other into one of the Klingon's best designs in both the D7 and later the K'Tinga.

Going by Strange New Wolrds. The D7 and the K'tinga is the same ship. Reconciling the ships seen in Enterprise and Voyager. During the 22nd century the K'tinga was the Klingons latest and most advanced ship. Then the government collapsed. D5 and D7 class ships weren't produced again until L'rell rose to power. The battlecruiser she proposed was a modernized D7 K'tinga. The K'tinga is like the Constitution class. Revamped frame over and over again. The modern Bird of Prey took design cues from the 22nd Klingon Bird of Prey. With the Federation and Romulans having bigger armed ships the Klingons developed the Vorcha to catch up. Then the civil war happened thus Gowron wanting a more powerful ship. Using lessons from the Vorcha the Negh'var was born. This becomes an expensive but popular ship in the late 24th century. As for the variety of ship designs during Discovery with logistics not what they were used to the 24 Houses had to develop their designs.
