There was an event going on at my LGS and Prof was present for it. So I wanted to play that deck against him to try to impress him and, to my surprise, it worked so well we made the video. This hour and 35 minutes for me at least was so heart touching to see into how these two content creators I like talking about and interacting and talking about how it feels to be a content creator. It really goes to show how human both these channels are in the growing economy where channels are forced to be more and more of a content machine. I did not have a lot of judgement for either of you and just enjoyed the content but this video makes me very happy to see the confirmations of the morals and importance you place on aspects of your channels. Thank you for saying my deck is remarkable :). If you decide to build it and try it, have fun with it! One of the reasons I’ve had that deck for so long was I love seeing people having their minds blown from plays that deck does without them ever suspecting it. It’s a huge shot of positive energy.

@@caladbolg777 This is really something and definitely a deck I would love to play. Thank you! :)
@caladbolg777
@caladbolg777 2 года назад
@@jankpilediver3863 Go for it dude. The best way I could offer to go about building something is just think outside the box. The whole reason I built that deck was I figured out that I could abuse Starke’s ability when I saw it, and then researched how indestructible works. I realized that there’s some sneaky shenanigans you can do with the stack from that and the deck was born. That was 1 half of the inspiration. The other half I got the idea from a buddy who had a mono red control deck in Standard back around OG Zendikar. He was using Bazaar Trader to steal the opponents stuff. When I saw that tech, I was like there’s no way I’m not using that. It’s too good and people won’t suspect it. So that kind of stuff was the 2nd half of inspiration. Look for things in mono red that fit into the second half. In other words look for cards that do one thing, but you can use them in a different way and get more benefit out of it, OR, look for cards that do a thing but if you look deeper into the applications of that card you get more benefit.m (Bazaar Trader and Conjurer’s Closet are great examples of this if you can steal their creature for a turn).

So many topics and a lot of how "the sausage is made" as far as both shows get made and the EFFORT of will to get these episodes, skits, games, made and put out to us in nice neat bows. Always enjoy a good conversation between two interesting and passionate people. Happy to see more like this! @ Josh: one thing that really bothers me (because it really isn't necessary)... wotc is a big sponsor, it doesn't matter if they only put their money in this or that aspect of the command zone. Their money is there, and that always has an (indirect) effect on how freely you can move. From the moment a company like wotc 'invests' money in something (or someone), they also buy influence. That doesn't mean you jump when they tell you to. It does mean you will think twice before spewing comments or critique. As long as you are completely transparent about it, there really isn't anything wrong with it. It does feel wrong to me when you try really-really hard to convince people that you're still 100% unbound. Last but not least... I do like the way you guys actually deal with this and the way you found a balance. Focussing on gameplay, once in a while giving positive critique (like your letter to the desing team). Good job, stay focused on you own strengths!

I love this video. I recently got back into Magic a week ago after a 20 year hiatus. It was the content from both the Command Zone and Tolarian Community College that persuaded me to go to my local game store and buy 4 commanded decks, plus accessories, so I could have enough to play around the kitchen table. The game is better than when I was playing in the era of Revised/4th edition. Thanks for the great content.

This was such an amazing episode to watch. I love and value the contributions that CZ and TCC have made to the Commander community and the MTG community in general. It is directly because of TCC that I learned of Spell Table and One More Mana. Bless you Prof! Josh and Jimmy (and Prof) have provided me with hours of instructive entertainment that have improved my game. As a marketing professional who has become obsessed with Content Creation/Creators, I was especially enthralled by this episode. Thus, I hope to reciprocate in some small way if this even gets noticed. Search Marketing is my specialty and I offer this analysis; RU-vid is the second largest Search Engine in the US (behind Google itself) and thus making it one of the largest in the world as well. At some point the Professor made a comment about certain four-year-old videos outperforming his high-production-quality Tefferi skit. This didn't surprise me in the least as TCC's content has had a strong mix of relevant useful information along with pieces that were produced to entertain. Deck techs, mana curves, rules interaction, reviews, diabolical combos...each of these types of content answer a specific need that will be searched up on Google and/or RU-vid. Search Marketing is about intent and need and the TCC, CZ and others have done a great job of answering these needs and they have done a good job with their search engine optimization (SEO) within the script/transcript, metadata, video names, and descriptions to help Magic players both new and old find solutions to their needs. Bravo. As I see the two brands, TCC & CZ, both are infotainment brands but TCC seems to front-load or lead with information whereas (imho) CZ front-loads entertainment and they both work. Thank you! With all that said,I am now going to go watch the Tefferi skit. Keep up the great work gents.

If el profe comes back to game knights or extraturns, we need a Pauper/Artisan Commander special.

I would love the professor and Cameron Lauder for pauper commander because of his ramirez depietro, and he's a very funny lrr member that still needs to get on game knights

I have so much more respect for The Professor after this video. Being the voice of the people, validating the issues at hand, and bringing awareness to these topics is both a difficult and righteous job. I never realized how truly important his role is in the magic community until now. Thank you for all that you do.

To be at a table and discuss with those two sounds like an amazing time and this video is the proof! On of the rare time i watch a video that's not for direct info or entertainment and i am so into it! Get more people in that room and let's get that Brain storm!

I'd love a video where Josh and Jimmy sit down. Talk about their decks, tell stories from games with them. Talk about how the decks evolved and how old they are. Not a decktech but more of a "Deck video diary"

I love how the professor is harsh and outside all of this "we gotta keep it decent" persona of most of the commander channels; you can see Josh barely keeping it together because in all honesty the proffessor takes were sharp and difficult for them to answer. Bit more respect for TCZ for uploading this.
@Fausto_4841
@Fausto_4841 2 года назад
lmao. prof is one of the biggest proliferators of "we gotta keep it decent", at least when he's criticizing someone else. when it's him he can do whatever. he's just ass blasted that folks like The Quartering talked about the uncomfortable truth of child predators traveling in MTG circles. as much as you might hate jeremy, his legacy will always be background checks to protect children, that's way better than any library of content you can make. a million deck techs and game play videos don't mean anything compared that.

Jeremy found and helped expose a real problem, but he used that as a shield to cover his own ass from his own garbage behavior. That doesn't make him a hero.
@Fausto_4841

@@misterdoctor9693 what garbage behavior was that? not trying to defend, i'm just trying to fill in the blanks. do you mean bullying the cosplayers?

Respect to you gentleman and my most genuine thank you for the content... In my eyes and many others you're the big Dawgs and when you look at the numbers it's quite incredible what you're able to accomplish because they're not always that impressive... It's a grind like anything so thank you we appreciate your passion and dedication to this game and it's gathering...

When I first became interested in Magic around 2015, RU-vid is where I came looking for info on how to play. I remember TCC was one of the first channels I got really useful material. Dies To Removal is an amazing show and Ive watched it since it was first created by The Proff and Wedge. After it disappeared and then reappeared with Pleasant Kenobi I was ecstatic! OH ALSO, that 8-Rack deck of the Proff's was my very first Modern deck!!

I really like the quote of "the rising tide lifts all ships"! It's true. Early on in EDH I wanted to try the game but not spend a fortune so it was a lot of commander's quarters. Then I wanted to see what game play is like, so it was here in command zone and then I found TCC orig for deck techs and then got interested in other subjects. No one covers everything, and I always to hear another perspective if possible! Love this episode!
