@philcjcs72 : And my other videwo, using Musicoutfitters, which uses a different version of Billboard Hot 100, shows boom boom pow as the top hit in 2009. The reason I made two videos with the apparent same source was because I found many different hits. Which one is the most accurate representation? I don't know. But watching both should give a good estimate on the top hits

@musicxisxlifexx03 : That depends on your source. If you have the time, check out my other video with the same title but using Musicoutfitters as a source. There, 2005 IS We Belong Together by Mariah Carey, and 2009 IS Boom Boom Pow by BEP. And, additionaly, you may check out my Ultimate video on charts, where the top charts are also completely different (as it uses a combination of all worldwide charts, not just one)

@NikoLiberty1000 I agree, if you check the series i've for every year, you'll see a lot of examples of rap music in the top 20, especially during the late 90s and 00s. However, since this video in particular only covers the tracks that made the 1st position, that would be why many popular bands, artists or genres dont appear to 'exist'.

@Ty Tupac died in 1996 but he still had music being released in 97. Same with Biggie Smalls. Just because they died a certain year doesn't mean they didn't record songs that couldn't be released until later after there death.

This list makes no sense. For example, 1991. You selected Stevie B's "Because I love you". That song was number 1 for four week in December of 1990 (which does count toward the 1991 Billboard Year-End chart) but by calendar 1991 it was out, replaced by Madonna's "Justify My Love". Overall it was ranked number 12 on the Billboard Year-End chart for 1991. Most of these songs make no sense!

This is more like the decline of music evolution. There was a point in time when musicians played their own instruments and wrote their own music. Now it is all Synthesized crap with no musical value..Music today is so boring if you really want to call it music.
