I had a 1989 and a 1991 Kawasaki KX 80 it was by far my favorite times riding when I was younger. The bike was so reliable and engine had a nice crisp sound I left them in stock and they ran great.
I had a 91 KX 80 big wheel, best of times, I messed up by smokin the herb and sold my bike to support my habit, I had potential to ride motocross as a career path, I really wasn't the brightest now thinking back what could have been, my dad used to drive me to the motocross track regularly
1985 KX80 started it all for me! An amazing machine that never failed me once ..on the track or trail. I maintained it well & it rewarded me w/ great reliable performance for many yrs till I got a new '94 RM125 my 2nd fave bike of all time! Go team green!
I wanted a 1984 KX80 as a kid so bad but my dad bought be a CR80 1984 instead because it was a little cheaper. The CR was so fun and good to me so no complaints. But I still wanted that green machine more.
Everyone wanted a KX 😂, my first bike was a yz 80 83, then I got a KX 80 87, then lastly a KX 80 big wheel 1991, I loved that bike, the 87 as well, the yz I had to many issues with lol
I had 1, the cleanest bike you'd ever see, never ever had a problem with it, used to start first kick everytime, which is more than I can say about my YZ 80 1983
@@HOODKINGSofficial dont need to tell me lol Even had big headaches with a '97 rm80 but its a sweet looking year with purple seat. my DRZ is bullet proof go figure. but kx 80 back then was the one to beat. they would smoke many 125s haha
My Dad bought me a second hand air cooled KX 80 in about 1985 in the UK, it looked a bit tatty towards the end but man that power band kicking in was a real rush for an 11 year old let me tell you. Happy days indeed.
J'ai eu le KX80 de 1982 pour moi le plus beau avec son moteur à air. 19ch pour un pois plume ça marchait très fort ❤️ et malgré les tambours cela freinait aussi très bien 👍 Que de bons souvenirs...
My first bike was an 84 KX80, delivered a lot of newspapers to buy it, worth every penny as it was a little beast. Sucks that I outgrew it shortly after, but a ton of fun while it lasted.
I had the 1987 one. Bought it in 1988 for $1,200, then swapped it for an Ibanez Universe UV7PWH in 1992 or 1993 I think. Today that guitar is worth $5,000.
When I was 8 I used to have a poster on my wall of a kx60 kx80 kx100 out of a motocross magazine all bikes in one poster lol had a ty 80 at the time ask my dad for 2 years for that kx 60 after staring at it day in day out an one day he told me he put a deposit on one never get that feeling again in life 😂👍💪
I had and raced the 81 model way back in 1981 when I was 13. The YZ was much faster that year however I never lost a race on it. I had trouble with flat back tires my first 5 races for some weird reason ( I suspect somebody was piercing my tire in the pits when I wasn’t around) it stopped all of a sudden. it was a very reliable bike, never had any mechanicals issues, only trouble was the suspension started to sag badly as the season progressed as I beat it up over big jumps a lot back then. Yeah good memories I have on my old Kx-80.
Always loved the KX ever since a little little kid back when I was playing Nintendo excitebike LOL wishing I knew how to ride a dirt bike my cousin had the KX 80 and I would always sit on the front of the seat up by the gas tank and put my legs up on the front fender and this hang on to the handlebars for dear life LOL he had like a little track set up it was so nice but would scare the s*** out of me LOL ever since then I've always loved that green KX 80 LOL Long live the funny thing though is I have a 1990 Yamaha YZ80 LOL I love the bike that I have it actually impressed me when I bought it but in the back of my mind I still want that KX80 and I'm 31 years old LOL still wanting it
The 92 didn’t have to conventional fork they had the upside down fork if you look in the video it looks like a conventional fork but it’s just the rubber sleeve protecter
Is ‘96 the only year with the purple shroud,,,,,,the ninja turtle 🐢 year….my son has a ‘96 kx 80….I wanna restore it for him , it’s a ripper though , big difference from his 2001 xr100r
The 1991 Kawasaki KX 80 = A True Adrenaline Canon, the first MX'er gotten from new in an actual box, Was the tool for getting the first trophy...And after getting Black Troy Lee Designs plastix on it, a daily source of fun annoying the cops in town with...Bye Bye A-Holes ;o)
