I'm still mad that Super Hero Squad got a second season while Wolverine & The X-Men got cancelled after one. That show actually had a good story and it ended on a cliffhanger which makes the cancellation even more painful.
I can never have enough of Wolverine. And I like every single version of him. Even the live action one. Heck, even those that is in video games. One of the best characters ever.
@@poodie3887 If official studios don't want to use other characters because they see that one is more interesting than the others, then it is not a problem of a character, it is a problem of the creative decisions of the studio that makes the stuff about those characters. They are to blame, not the character that you think is "overused". My personal favorite characters are Batman, Spider-Man and Superman, but Wolverine is somewhere in the middle between them. But when it comes to X-Men, my favorite characters is not just Wolverine, but also everyone else basically, including Storm, Gambit, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Cable, Beast and many others, including villains. Simply because they look cool and they have great personalities, especially in their classic costumes. So yeah, I know what you mean but again, that it is not a problem of the character but of the companies that do stuff about the character.
@@deathcold_longplaysua4846 ik that obviously 💀 Wolverine the character isn’t to blame the studio is , they see him as a money grab, now if it was Deadpool i wouldn’t complain as much because atleast he makes jokes , jokes can take you very far if you can make ppl laugh
Have you ever watched Highlander? (the first movie). I would more think Wolverine would fit into a line that was said there. When Connor MacLeod is asked where his accent is from. He simply replies "I've been all over", even though Lambert was french but didn't sound it. The line was put in because of how Christopher Lambert sounded. Given Wolverine is so old and well traveled. He would likely not sound Canadian at all and be an odd sounding accent, if not that than at best he'd likely have more of an American accent due to living there for most of whats written.
What’s funnier is that wolverine was actually made as a writing challenge to try and write a character to sound Canadian, and his writer later said thst he thought he failed and that he sounded more Australian than Canadian
I can’t call him the best but he’s definitely the most underrated Wolverine If we could get a Wolverine, with Steve Blum’s voice, the brown suit, no feelings for Jean, and him being normal height we’d have a perfect Wolverine
Yes, he is the GOAT Wolverine! At least to me. Had the best suit and personality. Given that comic wolverine is more of a pervert & Jean-lover type, this variant of him is much better with his non-perverted mentor-like personality. The only complaint I have about the series is that it didn't have enough of him.
The reason Wolverine had a Aussie accent in Pryde was because of the huge popularity of Crocodile Dundee at the time. It was required that every 80's cartoon have an Australian character.
5:20 so that's where the meme came from, I never watched 1993 Xmen but I did enjoy Evolution the best. Hell didn't know there was an anime version of Ironman and Wolverine, gotta check it out.
Cal Dodd will always be Wolverine’s voice in my head. Tiger handheld game commercials, the X-Men animated series, Spider-Man cameo, the Marvel vs Capcom games, X-Men ‘97… that’s Wolverine to me. Plus he has a million quotable lines in the animated series.
Personally I prefer Steve Blum because I grew up watching Hulk vs Wolverine. His snarls are the best, though X-Men '97 has certainly endeared me to Cal Dodd.
Evolution's Wolverine was voiced by Scott McNeil, an absolute voicing legend. He's done the voices of tons of characters recognizable by 90's kids such as Dinobot from Transformers Beast Wars(as well as Rat-Trap and Waspinator), T-Bone from Extreme Dinosaurs, Dr Wily and Protoman from Megaman, Piccolo in the Cannadian(Ocean) dub of Dragonball Z, and Koga from Inuyasha, which are just a few of his most notable among his huge portfolio.
Ngl, i kinda grew up on wolverine and the X-men. Im quite fond of the show. I wish it didnt get canceled. From seeing hugh Jackmans performances, wolverine was so popular. And the dynamic with cyclops and emma frost in an episode hes trying to remember the phoenix incident was so captivating for me.
@@poodie3887 it is quite a good show. The only downside of wolverine and the X-men is the fact it had an unsatisfying ending and was canceled before it could have a 2nd season.
I just left a comment about that too. What's up with that? I have heard he was Australian in Pryde because of Crocodile Dundee but then why is he Australian several years earlier?
10:51 Damn, that delivery of "how do you sleep at night", is probably one of the best line reads Scott McNeil has ever done. Must have channeled all the rage he felt when my brother denied him hotdogs at Anime North.
The “artistic liberties” these artists take with Wolverine are.. um…different. I can dig the agents of SMASH version, and that second anime one tho. I don’t understand why animators think they have to make superheroes look goofy, and stupid to make young kids like them. The 80s version of Thundercats is proof against that.
You know, back when Hugh Jackman just did the voice of Wolverine. He also did it in the episode of Spiderman too. Since he had so much experience with Wolverine, they went ahead and cast him in the live action movie.😂😂
That “Now it’s my turn!” Will never not make me laugh, I always forget about it, ahh they really should have had this variant in the wolverine & Deadpool movie
Yeah but, let's be honest here, That's not even the weirdest thing ever. If Batman really love himself that much, It'll probably make him into a self-loving narcissist. (Kinda like Iron Man sometimes)
I was a kid who had pryde of the x-men on vhs and watched The Animated Series whenever I could. I have loved '97, but are any of the other series something I should watch as an x-men fan
2:38 this is inaccurate. Pryde of the X-Men WAS the pilot for the 90s X-Men TAS. The problem was that, yeah, development hell delayed the official release of the project and the show we got was incidentally an entirely different beast by the time the first season was aired on Fox.
I don’t know if anyone remembers the pro wrestler Chris Benoit. The one who ended up killing himself and his family. That guy would’ve been the perfect real live action Wolverine! The man had the same stature as Wolverine. short and jacked as fuck with no neck😂
