Just a tip i found. You can shoot your feet with the gun and get max enrage

They actually have a synergy with the new hunter exotic, you will spawn 2 moths with every shot instead of 1, and you can also spawn moths that give you an overshield.

IMO this weapon is extremely fun and has quickly become one of my favorites. Not because of the dps or add clear but just cuz its so goddamn fun to use. Really makes you feel like a boomer knight.

I think two vital points you missed here are 1) not everyone has a chain reaction Forbearance or can raid often enough to find five red borders for crafting, 2) it's fun being a boomer knight

I think the enrage mechanic is just meant to give the gun a little more "oomph" in DPS scenarios. Primarily meant to make it suck at boss melts a bit less, not really to help add clear, (though it could in some situations ig)

As someone else said, if you pair this with the new hunter exotic, you can spawn 2 moths at a time, one that goes to kill, and one that comes to you or an ally and gives you an void overshield. Thats a very cool and unique interaction and gives you some nice survivability thats not always easy to get on arc hunter. Plus, the weapon is a blast to use and makes you a boomer knight. I want to figure out a full set idea for this for sure.

I thi k this gun is really just supposed to be cool, and fit well with the "become hive" vibes of the season, because this the hive knight weapon, and it makes moths. It's really just a super flavorful gun. It almost doesn't even NEED to be good at that point.

It's really not too bad when used with a auto loading/Recon Rocket. It's not blatantly overpowered like something like Forbearance but it's fun to use and has utility.

It’s great to have you back Ehroar! I’ve missed seeing your content on my RU-vid feed. Ex Diris is currently apart of my main Hunter build for the rest of this season combined with the new gauntlets (once I get them to drop…)

In the content you were doing of course you wouldn’t see the real value of the gun because for me playing the new Alter activity and having to take cover to heal those moths came in handy killing groups of enemies for me without me having to do anything and also i get around 10 ammo per brick so ammo is never really a problem for me, and never having to reload makes this gun such a great option to keep the pressure on enemies…. I like it, it’s super unique and while it doesn’t have great damage it’s still a good option for everything else

There’s a pair you missed, if you use the new hunter exotic, the GL creates a additional void moth on kill, healing you or teammates, keepin you into combat while blinding and exploding others

Another idea could be at max enrage spawn moths on direct hits

I think it’s a weapon you can pair really well with your primary… Shoot a group of ads, spawn a moth, change to primary, onto the next group… It’s a really fun weapon above everything else though

I think it’s a fun weapon that does a decent job for those who don’t have goated options. I hear the argument for this vs sunshot, but otherwise it will fill an important role for a lot of players: VERY FUN and pretty powerful.

This gun really has the exaggerated swagger of a hive knight

It should keep the damage but have the grenades be blinding, not the moths. Then the moths do more damage to blinded targets. At least could be used in high end then.

pros: 1. Catalyst gives faster enrage with amplified from arc subclass. And help to stay amplified. 2. Arc fragment for special weapon explosion will help to have more fun. 3. Hunter's new Mothkeeper gauntlet synergy! 4. After cleaning red bars, moth can kill remaining major. Cuz moth is slow. )) 5. Fun Eris-hive visual for weapon! cons: 1. exotic for red mob cleaning and ordinary majors. 2. Moth is slow. 3. bad special ammo economy.

I just wish it's seasonal pass ornament was more than a color alteration.

I finished the catalyst last night while farming for the strike sniper, it’s fun but not super op or anything but yes you CAN get amplified on other subclasses after a kill with this exotic

I think what they should do is rework the perk where it somewhat working like nano-rocket origin trait when you sustain your damage to the enemy with this GL, the moth will spawn and attack the target. Also make the moth fly faster too

Im finding it harder and harder to justify using an exotic special layely just bc of how powerful exotic primaries are with the extra damage to redbars and extra heavy ammo if youre using heavy ammo finder. Also exotic heavies are going to be way better for dps/champ killing than any exotic special except for maybe div or wither, which you only need one of each per fireteam. So yeah they need to start making exotic special like prenerf izanagis burden again to get people to start using them.

Its a really cool weapon and I hope it gets a buff. Maybe match the power of a rapid fire fusion rifle shot? Or they could give it more splash damage if they want it to be add clear. IDK its cool but gonna be infusion fodder most likely. But the fact we finally got a hive knight exotic is super cool. Now just give me the cabal barrier wave cannon thing.

A special GL that has explosions on contact, that for me is an instant win

Personally I think this weapon would be a lot better if it was a Primary ammo weapon like Fighting Lion. This would allow you to take more advantage of the enraged rate of fire without eating all of your ammo.

i feel like enrage should also increase its damage by nothing too crazy but maybe %30 on max enrage and the caty makes the moths do more damage and jolt while amplified. this would make it a beast.

It’s fun. Only thing is the damage per shot feels a bit lower than your usual lightweight frame.

This might have synergy with something down the line that makes it better, but at base it feels subpar. It feels like it has very low blast radius for a gl to the point that if i dont directly hit the target they likely wont feel it and even when i hit the target it feels like its not doing any damage ( the moth does more and has a bigger aoe). Its a shame cause thematicly the gun is awsome, like finally i can get revenge on all the full auto boomer knights but alas it falls short.

This is one of the exotics ive been waiting for always loved the boomer knights GL but this exotic seems like a toned down version of mountaintop and the moth is good for getting information in PvP so a un-sunset nerfed mountaintop that is made exotic because Moth and boosted reconstruction. (lack of reload animation)

very funny that they finally give us the hive boomer as an exotic after we've been asking since 2014 and when they finally do pve enemy weapons have been powercrept so hard that even with a whole extra perk on top we have literal primary weapons that completely overshadow it lol

Well if you’re only using it in trash content with adds that fold when you breathe in their direction yeah it’s gonna be underwhelming. The moth does a ton of damage and blinds, and with the new hunter gauntlets it spawns 2 moths, 1 being a friendly overshield moth, and the potential for this shines a lot more in content where adds don’t all fold instantly

How do i do the calibrate weapon part of the catylyst quest. In rhe quest description it says kill with the weapon but im at 700 kills and only 15 out of 200

I think the moths need to be buffed to be more frequent (and have some more range) but other than that this thing is great

They literally just throwing weapons in the game with fun perks so you can forget that its not actually useful. They do this so you have fun rather than care about beating the game as fast and efficient as possible. Also the catalyst will probably do one of the following things you mentioned to actually be useful probably the moth proc-ing to summon continuously. It might be op you never know.

I actually love it. It's fun to use and not every gun needs to be the best dps all the time.

I think they should keep it exactly how it is now but just make it use primary ammo. It's not like the gun does a lot of damage like you said. And shooting endlessly will really make you feel like a boomer knight.

My biggest problem is I just straight up can't hit shit with it. Maybe I am just bad, but don't have that problem with other weapons.

i think they should buff the damage %20 and moths should have one or two second cooldown. also dealing damage should ramp up more. you can damage your self and get full stacks but why would i :)

Can’t believe no ones really talking about this being the hive boomers the knights and acolytes use. I’ve been wanting it as a weapon since d1 and they finally did it. Unfortunate it’s not that good but I’m gonna make it work lol

It would be better if: 1. The GL was capable of more AoE damage. Like a mini Chain Reaction every final blow. Perhaps this could be the catalyst perk and requires the user to be Amplified. 2. The moth methanic worked like Forerunner, where you hold reload after a kill and it gives you a special grenade that releases moths when you throw it. That way you can control exactly when and where you can summon moths. OR Kills with the GL spawns a moth nest. If you shoot the nest it blows up and releases loads of moths, which track aggressively to targets.

Performance is a b+ and tbh lets be honest wave frames kinda need a nerf having a special that can kill like 30 enemies in one single shot and heal you 100 hp for doing so (forberance) is kinda op. For a gl its pretty good its just how op the wave frames are that get in the way and gl's dont have good dps outside of heavies since you deal about 29K per a shot but then have to reload while most specials are 35K+. As for bow fun it is? Super fun. Also reminder in d1 most reviews also included how fun they are d2 reviewers basically forget this and ignore how fun a gun is. I tried it in some legend activities and it worked pretty good so dont worry about usefulness too much at least till master (Havent tested it yet)

Another gorgeous looking exotic weapon, yet totally trash.

It would be sick if they tie Croats to the season and have him be a hive guardian and get a res.

Some people, myself included, don't raid at all, so we don't have a forbearance, which means this weapon becomes the replacement

How is it "bad design"? Not every gun needs to be top tier meta. Obviously if I'm doing raids / GMs I'd rather use Forbearance than this, but I'm all for fun weapons that allow different synergies which this gun and last season's Centrifuse do. It's also very good with the new Hunter moth gauntlets because it spawns an extra void moth on kill. I don't like watching your videos because you're so laser focused on endgame content without realizing that there's a place for guns like this in other activities. Guns like this are great for people who just want to do mid tier content and blast shit without being a tryhard.

you heard it here folks, if it ain't meta, it ain't fun to use, and should not be used under any circumstance when you have your godroll roomclearing wave frame forbearance. not everything needs to be game defining to be fun to use, forbearance and the double special meta has rotted the brains of the people who use it to the point that they think having a job is fun.
