She keeps repeating how “you are the creator of your own destiny” and I really think she takes that to heart. She has completely manufactured her looks, her job, her acquaintances, her past.

I love the reporter's ability to point out the obvious falsehoods and oddities without calling the subject out. She plays along very well in a way that makes her skepticism clear without creating conflict.

She’s an ex Russian spy, exposing herself on social media.. you know she’s fake when she’s still alive after all of this.😂

The star of this entire show is the presenter. Shes the only reason I sat through the 30 mins! Ms Rosa is obviously faker than Piers Morgan's laugh and Sydney still managed to create a good show from an absolutely ridiculous premise.

The reporter did a great job with this. The subtle call outs without being so direct that it turns the interviewie off immediately is spectacular. Also this woman is 100% a lie.

So lemme get this straight, one minute she's a Russian spy 'scared for her life,' but then first thing she does after her 'kidnapping and beating by 10 men' is become AS HIGHLY VISIBLE AS POSSIBLE. Nothing remotely suspicious about her story or anything.

She had a police uniform on that was implemented in Russia after 2010. She is lying about being in the military, that is not her in the photo. She is most likely from central Russia and not even Moscow; she has an accent/dialect.

Mr Patrick literally told on everyone 😂 “If they didn’t have a story the agents would make one up”

Subject matter aside, it’s so nice that this entire story was wrapped up in under 30 minutes. If Netflix produced this it would have been 10 agonizing hours.

I was very happy to see the author of the segment sum it up by saying that she was lying to her face for 3 days. Now multiply that by however many days this woman has been a conscious adult, because she has lied that entire time to literally everyone who gave her the time of day. There is absolutely nothing real about her or her story. Sad, sad, empty space of a person.

I can't say I'm all that convinced by Aliia's story. Her words ring are hollow and rehearsed, she doesn't speak like someone who has experienced something that intense and traumatic. Thanks to Vice, we've seen many stories of people who've witnessed or been subjected to war crimes, abuse, poverty and all sorts of suffering. It's just a ruse.

A narcissist with delusions of grandeur surrounding herself with people that feed her what she wants to hear. Not sad for her, she's forever lost in her own world, but for those people that will see this and envy her.

Tbh she's def not dumb, I don't believe her story, but if it gets her a job as actress, she's literally gotten it out of thin air. That makes me respect her in the sense that she held up everything and got where she wanted to be without actually committing any crimes

The house she claims to live in is a house on Sunset blvd just off the 405 that the owner rents out for filming and photoshoots. I've done photoshoots in that house. Definitely not her house lol

Her making up a fake past isn't the worst part, the worst part is people's fawning obsequious acceptance and love her story. Those people were embarrassing with how impressed they were and acting like it was more than it was. Even if her story were true, by her own admission, she was a spy who blew her first and only mission and sort-of almost barely not-really might have been close to dying. Oooh, wow. 🙄

I love this type of content, where reporters are shown as more human and are allowed to show their personal opinions about the stories.

there is one thing I know for sure, people who have served in the military from whatever country it is, know when they went in and when they finished their service without hesitation. If you were trained in Russia as a "spy", I'm sure every day of that experience would be tattooed in your brain

If I were an attractive former russian spy trying to start a new life in America, adopting the persona of an influencer that poorly pretends to be a former russian spy obviously based on the latest movie with an attractive Russian spy character would be my move. Hiding in plain sight, surrounded by potential witnesses to your assassination..... Brilliant!

to be honest as someone originally from Eastern Europe I have to say that elements from her story even though they seem unrealistic are very probable. late 90s early 2000s were scary times in EE, mafia were prominent, people were getting shot in the streets if they disobeyed etc. I’m not saying that her story is real but the situations she is describing are very real.

From the moment I've seen that mansion and the reporter saying: "...but she gave me another address" I couldn't stop thinking "Inventing Anna". The indicators that she doesn't have a past only came out after "Red Sparrow" came out (and then she claimed "it's just like my life"), she basically literally copies everything Anna did and the results are so obviously EVERYTHING Anna did and Red Sparrow was about... She is just big time delusional. Edit: 19:32 that woman has never EVER held a gun in her hand before. NO way. She's either a fraud, or she forgot everything she had learned or she is the MOST SKILLED spy in the world who makes us only believe she doesn't know what she's doing because it's part of her cover that she still doesn't want to blow but then she already blew it herself by coming out which would make her a bad spy which is then again part of her cover because then her cover wouldn't be blown... I know you know what I mean. I don't believe a single word she said. Which would be something a spy would want. But also something a straight up lie would cause.
