I wanted to point out that you seem to have edited out a crucial story progression step. After you talk to the conductor saying he over heard the argument and that the kid wants to be an engineer, you have to talk to the kid again before the engineer will give you his autograph.
My order of operations was different for this. Talked to the kid, then the conductor saying her could hear the family, went to the engineer, then talked to Zip where he mentioned an autograph, finally got the autograph.
This game is crazy Mario working for a mob boss and a wrestaling turnament where someone tries to poison mario with a cake honestly im enjoying this game so much
@4:18 I made the mistake of collecting the lower shine sprites first but you actually can land a crazy odd jump towards the camera from the platform behind to ground pound the block after landing on it. The depth is tricky and the timing with the platform is tricky but it can definitely be done before the next chapter if you have a strong enough will to suffer the jump
Hi austin, thanks for the walkthrough as always. I just want to say that even if you do get the lower two shine sprites, you can still get the middle one by jumping from the moving platform to the top of the middle shine sprite. It is a very difficult jump, and it is definitely better to just do it your way, but it is attainable without completing chapter 6.
i tried for about 20 minutes in the original and another 10 minutes in the remake. I wasn't able to spin hammer it from the platform. i tried spin jump in OG, but not this one. a spin jump/ground pound worked?

@@AustinJohnPlays It was a simple running jump from the platform in the direction outwards to your screen to land on the top of the shine sprite. I can't comment regarding the original version since I have never attempted the jump there.
@@AustinJohnPlays I was able to get it by carefully dropping off the moving platform while Bobbery goes off. The explosion should allow you to get the shrine sprite.

30:19 Be sure to get this now, folks! On the Game Cube, you could only get this while going to the Heights, not returning to Rogue Port. This was due to the room being flipped for said return, and the Devs not accounting for it. I do not know if it was fixed in this version.
@@AustinJohnPlays I thought I worded that in such a way as to imply that I already knew about the workaround. Guess not. So that is hard conformation that the missing panel on the return ride is still not fixed? Well that is annoying.
I'm watching the walkthrough after I finish playing through the area myself to not get spoiled, and to see what I missed. I can answer your question about how you would figure out the ghost is in the cabin. If you go into that room you'll hear a noise. When you go to the right into room three, the larger toad will tell you there's a weird noise coming from the room next to him. If you go back in and ask for a hint, Vivian will tell you she suspects something and to use her skill. It felt very organic.
I was missing 1 star peace and I was so nervous because I didn't know from which chapter, I learned that if you check the ert gallery in the menu it won't let you see the art unless you collected all the star peaces from that area, I hope this helps somebody
I added a pinned comment on the video. You'll finish this chapter with 10 recepies because when you're given the Honey Mushroom from Zess T. that is your 9th. Then the Zes Tea we cook with the golden leaf is 10. We only did "cook" 9, but obtaining one marks it as "known" on the screen.
40:48 When I talk to the engineer toad, he doesn't give me the autograph. Any help? Update: I had to talk to the kid for the second hint to get it to trigger
I’m having trouble with this as well. We may have to get better with Super guarding. I had no problems doing it at the start of the game, but now it’s tough for some reason. Update - I did beat him in a couple of turns -Turn 1 used Power Lift to boost attack and defense to level 4. -Appealed with Goombella. -Mush attacked, I failed to Superguard -Turn 2 appealed twice Mush attacked, I got hit once but superguard second attack (don’t give up!) -Did power Bounce and got him down to 36 HP -Goombella used Rally Wink -Power Bounce again ftw. So, you can one turn him using a similar build Austin used. My none Danger Mario loadout: 20HP, 25 FP, 45 BP P-UP, D-Down Jumpman Power Bounce FP Plus Zap Tap Lucky Start Flower Saver 2x Defend Plus 2x Power Plus
Not going to lie the voice you do for the boss daughter sounds similar to Linda from Bob's burger. Also who know that nintendo would literally kill mario and give you a game over for reading that diary. Pretty dark nintendo. Good thing i saved before reading it.
I'm level 17 and got absolutely cooked by Mush cause I've only been guarding and not super gaurding on my playthru thus far, will take some practice before I try that again lol

At 4:40 I saw someone on Twitter getting the 3rd shine sprite by doing a tube roll jump from the moving platform to on top the 3rd shine sprite then a hammer or ground pound
If I had nickel for every mystery themed chapter in this game, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice. Except not really weird because I like that vibe with these chapters.
I feel angry for Eve. She was going to be a star so he abandons her because he can’t be happy for her nor allow her to have more status than him so she fails to see her own worth and value and gives up her dreams to become a mother…. That is a horror story to me. Makes sense she’s in twilight town. Everyone YOU deserve happiness and success. Alone. It’s better if you can share but alone is fine! Please only have children if you truly want them and have mental, emotional and financial means and not because you abandoned your own dreams! Is she really ‘so happy and fulfilled?’ But hey I’m a childfree person so I can’t comprehend being happy and fulfilled with children at all, let alone after loosing my dreams and being betrayed and abandoned by a horrible jealous man! So a little heads up for new players to prevent running back and forth for nothing, ask for Bub’s 2nd hint. 😌 Unless you’re a pro like Austin and can magically get it done with only one. 👀🤣
