The term fingerstyle guitar covers a whole lot of musical genres. Although you often see guitarists who call themselves fingerstyle players performing popular/contemporary music, classical, bossa nova, Travis picking, flamenco, and latin jazz guitarists are also playing "fingerstyle". But regardless of the style of music you like to play, this right hand arpeggio exercise (from the classical guitar world!) is a MUST for all guitarists who play with their fingers! It's a weird and seemingly complex pattern, but even beginners can get this pattern down and memorize it to jump start their right hand dexterity, control, and speed.
