Seriously. I feel like a lot of trouble would be avoided just by not running a Discord group. I'm starting to see why an influencer having a direct line of communication to their fanbase 24/7 is a bad idea.
I mean, I never use Discord to join public servers or talk to people I don’t know. I only talk to my friends and their GC (which the people in there, know each other)

Hey, BornWeird here (Tristan) id like to say thank you for coming out on a video about this, I honestly didn’t expect for my document nor the situation to get a full on youtube video dedicated to it. A lot of things in my document weren’t well explained as well as lacked major evidence due to it either being in past servers or group chats that I have long left or have been deleted which I do take accountability for. I also like to apologize for lying about my age 4 years ago, it was a stupid decision I made as a kid that I wish I could turn back time to undo. I'm mutuals with Shawn, but we haven't really talked much for a long time. I've known them since my deviantart days and before they came out as trans. Other than that, I had no idea of the things he has done. Thank you for bringing light to this situation regardless.

Extremely late but same, I went to the same school as them, knew 'em before he transitioned. We were online friends post-school, and seeing his early artwork that I was *here* for and remember is so crazy - I recognized the art. Learning about this right now is so. Disappointing.

I knew Shawncookie, when i was in the eddsworld fan movie project. They were a animator and artist for the project if i could remember. How ever, i was not aware of that they were like this until i see this video. I stopped contacting him after i left the project around 2019 and my experienced with that project was not good at all, but they were pretty friendly with me and actually vent there problems in our DMs. Considering a lot of bad stuff happened in the project after i left ranging from the Marc Lovallo grooming allegations and the cancellation of the project around September of 2020. After i saw Shawn behavior and toxicity, I actually lost a lot of respect to him and sadly this hurts me deeply since we were good acquaintances in the EWFM project.
What the hell is wrong with the RU-vid art/art commentary and grooming? Is that part of the rite of passage to become a popular person in the area? Jesus
This is extremely unfortunate... I have been friends with Shawn on ROBLOX for a while and actually got along with them fairly well as we bonded over art and FNF. I thought I'd wait and see how bad the allegations were, and yeah, they aren't getting out of this one. Just unfriended them. It's really disgusting how common this behavior is these days, especially from people who you thought were cool.
As someone who has interacted with Shawncookie and liked him, it really is a damn shame that he turned out to have been doing all this shit.. Never judge a book by its cover I suppose
I only interacted with Shawn one time. On Deviantart (because no Twitter) and i said “i love your art and i hope you live a good life with your (at the time) boyfriend!” And he replied with “thank you!”. I probably shouldn’t have commented on his Deviantart because, i probably boosted his ego alongside a lot of fans. It really sucks knowing, Shawncookie did all of this drama.
I was in Shawn's server, both old and new since early 2021 that I've discovered one of his videos and decided to join his server. His server had an art ping role whenever his staffs wanna share their art. As being a member in that space for that long, I've watched and enjoyed all of their wonderful art, but as time passed, the staffs that often posted there started to disappear, which left me wondering where they've gone and why they left, while new staffs I've first seen are instead posting there. It's always a delight for me when I get an art ping in the server as someone who shows a huge passion for art and aspire to be like all of the artists in his server including Shawn himself, but again, it was rather worrying how the ones I know (well not personally but I still looked up to them) have disappeared without a trace. It wasn't until now that Shawn was finally exposed, man, look at all the things that happened in the background while I was just there to enjoy what I like. And the time when they had to delete their old server, I was also really confused on what happened. I don't know if it was due to one of the compromised account of a moderator fucking up the server, or personal reasons among his "friends", I can barely remember anything from it cause it was all from a year ago. But anyway, I do wish the best for the victims. As for Shawn, yeah screw him.
I remember i wanted so badly to join Shawn’s discord sever. But i didn’t have Discord. Now looking back, i’m glad i didn’t join his server haha. But. I truly hope the victims are doing well today, because this is so fucked up, i can only wish for the victims to be okay. And i hope all his former friends find this video and now realize they have been supporting the wrong person.
Shawn literally got caught with his hands in the cookie jar, you could say, being fully cognizant of his actions, if a minor comes up to you as an adult and asks for a poly relationship, you block them and instantly end the conversation. 17:45 isn't good; in my state, where the age of consent it 16, it only means that if both are 16 or 16-17, then 16 is fine, if you're 18+, 16 is *NOT* fine/too young. But even with those crimes/allegations aside, his attitude, hypocrisy and ego the size of the Empire State Building are so bad I'm surprised his subscriber count didn't plummet sooner.
I used to be close friends with and idolized Shawn back in Facebook via an Eddsworld group because of their art style and I am just VERY shocked to see this pop in my RU-vid. Shocking, but lord how they have fallen... Thank you nonetheless for shining a light to this.

While it can be argued that you may be fine in the end, it really has no benefit. It doesn't provide you with anything, no topic of conversation or privilege, because no one actually cares. They'll just say "okay" and move on. Also, guess what? If they wanted to be with you so badly, they can very easily lie to you about their age. Accountability? You know how many accounts I have and how easy it is for me to make more? You know how cheap vpns and other things are too when you make way too many accounts or get ip banned? I think the fault they made was not that they dated an adult (foolishness is expected at that age) or that they lied about their age. I believe their fault was that they didn't inform the adult that they are a minor, regardless of your beliefs it is a fact that it's a big legal risk to date a minor. This has nothing to do with maturity, it's just selfish, and because of that it can't be excused. They didn't have to tell them their real age, just be considerate and tell them they are a minor and that it's risky. (Consider not putting yourself in a situation where *you have to* reveal something about yourself, if you don't want anyone to know things about you) If you are a roleplayer btw, I know it's common to get unpleasant dms. You don't have to say you are a minor, simply say you don't do that sort of thing. If you want to make friends that have some relation to some info about you (like location), consider making an alt where you do spread some info about yourself. Add your irl friends and family to this account while you are at it. You are free to do so but you should always consider the risk and be ok with the fact that people who see what you are doing will probably have the ability to know who you are or where you live. It's not really an exorcism since he didn't change, and he's still who he is. But I still love the theme and I like absurd titles in commentary videos

Tbh, I was on Shawn's server, and since the first time I joined, i felt like nobody even noticed or me or talked to me, or anything. Shawn's just an young adult that has problems to make order on some things he cannot control, he just doesn't even gave a duck bout anyone in the server, hes is just like a normal user having calls with moderators that apparently are his friends and not allowing other users to participate or anything, and posting his drawings, which I think it's a great idea. When I asked him personally to start a conversation in the vc, at first, he was reasonable, like anyone, but then, I tried to do the DEPRESSO joke (deppressed), and he answered with: O-ok.... Like u can't just make a joke! That makes you feel like the weird one man....
I will say for the envy about other artists and friends being better than you and wishing you were better can also come from a lack of pride in oneself. I feel like that a lot and it makes me feel awful that I can’t be satisfied in almost all my art.

I am going crazy right now. I used to be a mega ultra eddsworld fan for some reason I would remember peoples art style who are really popular or famous in the community and I knew who they were by looking at their art, so yeah, I know this person because of Eddsworld they were actually one of my favourite artists so I’m just going really crazy right now watching this video. I can’t really watch it at all with reminding myself about that.
His early eddsworld art is pretty calm compared too the ship art. (Separate topic) I hate how people think it’s “sigma” or “cool” when it isn’t and most of the time LGBTQ people didn’t do anything to them so with some freinds we made a safe place in discord (not advert) and yes, I’m apart if the LGBTQ community
