Sydney, (may I call you Sydney?).... I don't know if you're aware of this, but a whole bunch of people have commented about your brief part in this and what a great presence you had. I frequent a number of boards where The Expanse is discussed, as well as reading a lot of tweets, reviews, etc., and you really made quite an impression with a lot of people. Too bad this is not one of those Science Fiction shows where people come back from the dead or are revived through Time Travel or something, because I think quite a few people would have welcomed the return of Larson. Really great work - best of luck in your future projects!
Tony Camas of course you can!! Wow, I had no idea! Thank you so much, that really means a lot to me. I'm so thankful to have been welcomed in by this amazing audience. You guys are truly one of a kind 🙏🙏
You did a great job, Sydney. The moment of "I don't even know what we're fighting for" could have been very cliché, as could the moment where Larson realizes she's going to die and shoots the cuffs. But you sold both of them beautifully and made them real human and relatable moments. I look forward to you showing up in more parts on the screen soon!
Just Randomdude yes! In the books Larson was also a man and Cotyar was a very small role so they changed it around to make Cotyar more central. I understand why they did it. Wish I got to play more though!
Such a great scene. For such a short time on camera, you made me feel invested for the character. Great acting. Best "red shirt" crew member I have ever seen :)
I didn't know you before and my first thought while watching: What a great introduction for a new Expanse-Character! And because you played so good, i was damn sure you will stay longer :/ But on the bright side: Now you have an awesome Demo-Scene^^ I hope we see you soon on the screen again!
I think there’s a really good point here that the character is expressed so well and the intro is so solid you think it’s a semi-permanent character introduction. It’s very jarring that Larson went out so quickly.
I was hoping she'd be one of a few to make it and really hated when I saw the protomoleule exposure. Considering you only encounter her for a few minutes, I would say that's some damn good work. It makes the tragedy of what happened on the Agatha King hit home more IMO.
This scene gave you this feeling you get when show introduces you to the new character who you can tell is not really a background extra and than you see the cut on Larson's leg :D I think you did a great job and definitely had a memorable impact. I was also hoping your character would help out Cotyar to blow up the ship, but i guess showrunners did not want to steal from his heroic act and dilute it :D
Didn't realize you played the role till I read some of the comments. Gotta say that's pretty cool and think you make a very believable sailor and I'll throw in the term solider as well. Hopefully we'll see you in some sci-fi in the future.
