Really wish Amazon would work with the spacedock channel again so we can get a detailed breakdown of all the ships we saw this season. Sometimes I feel like the only one that loves the ships of these sci fi shows and want more details on them.

Skyscrappers with cannons, missles and rockets in different sizes. Those ships do feel the same most of the time.

@@Audifaram that’s like saying every ship Star Trek has phasers, shields, torpedoes and warp drive. And while true there’s a huge difference between a Galaxy class ship like the Enterprise D and a constitution class ship like TOS Enterprise. Same with the Expanse ships, a corvette class like the Roci is completely different from Ashfords Belter ship Tynin, yet they all have the same things for the most part.

Wow, I didn't know that the ship passing through the ring at the end of S5E10 was destroyed. I thought it was something similar to Holden's vision when he went through; it showed the malevolent force of the destroyers, but didn't actually damage anything yet. So is it confirmed that the ship was destroyed?

Well as they were passing through you could actually see through the people and then their parts were spread all over by the forces so they're more than likely not coming back from that.

This was, perhaps, the best season recap if any show I have ever seen. It told the major story arcs of all characters and the over arching plots in a concise and endearing way. It did it all without funny voices or making jokes.

Wow this might be the best season recap of a show I've ever seen. Sets me up great to watch S6. Most recaps are just important scenes stitched together but you miss a lot of context that way, I probably remember season 5 better now than when I first watched it.

Would it make sense to jump into the books at the equivalent point to TV season 5, or is the book series too different? Reading right from the book 1 after seeing 5 seasons would be a bit tedious, covering so much known ground. Or would it?

Good review, from an Aussie of course...I liked S5 overall, although it did drag a bit at times, eps 8 and 9 were a bit slow, but wow did ep 10 make up for it. Season 6 is going to be mental with the protomolecule back in play. I hope Mars (the planet) can reclaim it’s honour and joking up with Earth to hunt down Marco and the rebel Martians. I haven’t read the books (no spoilers please), so I don’t know if that happens, but I hope so, it’s their mess to clean up.

Read a few comments here. Slow, ponderous, too much drama. But that all depends on expectations. Personally I loved it, but this was the first time I’ve watched the Expanse with weekly episodes rather than a binge watch (I only arrived after S3). So I’ll watch S5 as a binge watch to see if it improves as an entire narrative as opposed to the drip feed of a weekly series. I’m thinking it might

This is probably the best recap for the Expanse that I've seen. No shouty "RU-vid personality" style vocals, etc. But, a small critique: in a fairly sober and mature styled recap you used the slang "yeet". Sure, it's common slang right now... But in 5 years its going to seem dated and silly. I'll go away to my "old man corner" of the Internet now.

you wanted blasters to go pew pew but got a mature story about people and character growth, maybe star trek discovery is more your speed, raunchy humor, insults and tons of pew pewing, when you grow up a bit , come on back, imo this season was incredible

If your expectations from a space sci-fi show is just action and space battles and people running around like flailing scarecrows and mumbling/shouting vaguely coherent pieces of dialogue with some kinda cockamamie space jargon in it, and the plot is barely there to get to the next action scene, then might I suggest _Star Trek Discovery_ or the *_new_* _Star Wars Trilogy_ . This series is not for you.
