A mate and i (Devils Donuts) went and explored an abandoned Tafe. This Uni ceased operation back in 2010 and there are no plans as of yet to sell the site.It was abandoned after operations were phased out due to "environment issues".Sit back and enjoy the video.
I will be uploading new video's every Sunday so keep an eye out for that.
Thanks for watching. #abandonedbrisbane

I was at Yeronga Tafe 1991-94;it was a trade school in the engineering trades electrical, fitter turners, boilermakers also had construction. The ramp you see used to go to the library you could get tuition after college in your subjects. As you go up the ramp the area on your right just below was the canteen and a resource area were it is boarded up.The buildings in front of the ramp were where we had theory and practical classes.

I attended this TAFE when I was Mechanical Fitter/Turner apprentice. Lots of memories and laughter along the way. I remember so many blocks of TAFE.... many of which consisted mainly of Queensland Rail apprentices. Smoko and Lunch breaks must of been very intimidating for any attractive young females that studied at this campus.... (from memory fashion/design type courses) Hundreds of young testosterone charged males checking out any hotties at any opportunity! Was a great college that educated many young men back in the day! Met some real characters along the way. Its a shame this place closed down. Interesting watching these videos.... a place which used to be a hive of activity!

Well done guys, great footage. I attended that T.A.F.E in 1979 and 1980 when I did my trade. The big white building in the middle was called The Resource Material Centre. It opened in1978. It housed the library and administration office. The ground level had a big open space which was the cafeteria. I also went to the high school next door from 1975 to 1978. I would be happy to answer any questions to help with your research. once again, splendid effort. P.S. the college was all male students until women started attending in 1980. It closed I think, because neighbours complained about smells from the forges in the Blacksmith's shop.

i went to the TAFE (Technical And Further Education) in 1989 - 1990 it was mostly an apprentice training college and VTEC which was a 1 year long course and captures students straight after leaving high school and trained them in all constructian trades over a 9 month period to make them more attractive to employers and also reduced 6 months off their 4 year trade apprenticeship ( learned a lot over t he time) it was closed down due to neighbours complaining about "toxic fumes" and also from the adjacent school as well.. it was all based on construction trade training of apprentices more than anything with minor training of office and other courses there was one building just for welding large oxy acet training area with steel benches and piped gas with regs at each work bench mig welding section and tig welding section where we would have projects to make there were plumbing class rooms above the down stairs workshop another building just for timber work and joinery and upstairs had the electrical section for sparkies where we would have large open rooms where we would have to wire up power points, light switches etc as projects and marked on neatness, speed, operation (although it was only ever powered to 32 volts not 240 vots) and theory rooms also another building just for painting and plaster work another building just for brick work, stone laying and cutting we would have to build brick walls 4 ft high and marked on straightness, uniform mortar thickness etc the ramp you see near the high voltage sub station was the main admin building when i went there and at the time very modern with computers, and well furnished, and to the side of the office was the library another building was a foundry where we would have to make molds and then fill them with aluminum and make gears etc .. this was the start of the complaints from neighbours with complaints from dust from the sand castings and the smelting fumes. This building was shut down first and that was the start of the end for the whole facility as there were complaints also from the school adjacent re fumes, then came traffic and students clogging the local residential streets with their cars as there was poor public transport most of the apprentices would go through this TAFE from the inner Brisbane City area after its closure most apprentices then went to Eagle Farm about 30 minutes drive away which is now also being consumed by high rise development there was talk of the TAFE being sold to the adjacent school so it could expand but was scrapped with change of state government which sold the site to developers who have now bull dozed it and now starting to building residential units in the 2011 floods it was mostly above flood level which increased its value and made for a quick sale many great memories there and would have loved the chance to walk through it and seen it as in your video before it being now bull dozed

Attended this college from 1988 to 1989. Sad to see it in this abandoned state. I believe it has since been demolished.

😂 this is not urban exploring it’s just 2 old dudes belching around the edge of the building … and it’s a TAFE not a University 😅
