I've always thought that Alistair Armstrong could in fact have been an RAF pilot in real life. His accent and mannerisms fit that trade pretty well.

They’re definitely not maki g fun of the RAF pilots. They’re maki g fun of the youth of recent times and using the brave RAF pilots as a clever way of doing it.
