For all denominations, false conversions are a huge part of the problem, and no one seems to notice. I was “saved” as a young child but I obviously wasn’t truly saved. Thankfully God saw fit to save a wretched sinner like me in my late twenties. Pray hard for the so-called prodigals. Most of us were never really saved. Some truly were converted at a young age but many of us just believed what we were taught but never had a relationship with Jesus.

When I was 7, my dad told me the gospel and led me through the sinner's prayer and I got baptized, but despite that, by my teen years I ended up turning into the most wicked hellish immoral satanic person I ever met. 2 more times afterward went through the cycle of praying the same prayer hundreds of times trying to "repent" only to spiral back into the hell I came from after 2 years. You are right about the magic words. It’s in a relationship with God. Jesus died on the cross to open a direct path to Him, not having to go through a priest or set of rituals. Very often the difficulty is in the ability to forgive someone, God, or even yourself . If you sit and talk directly to God, asking Him for the answer, and wait, going step by step, even though it may take hours (I went through this), He will come through. If it’s a forgiveness issue, ask Him for the ability to forgive, or even the desire to forgive. Step by step, He is merciful and He is love, He loves you and He is waiting for you. God bless you.

They don't. The "saving" and baptism of children is ridiculous. Baptism is the public declaration of the dedication of your life to God and a child cannot make that decision until they are much older. Very occasionally some are able to do it around the age of 10 or so but the majority can't really do it until much later. Jesus wasn't baptised until he was 30 years of age. As for being "born again", I have said this before and I'll repeat it here. Not a single person alive on this planet right now has been born again. Many think they are but they really don't understand what it means to be born again.

We have “exvangelicals” because they were never born again, never spiritually regenerated and redeemed to begin with. We have a bunch of people in the “church” who deny the power of the ßIood of Christ to “save to the uttermost”, holding to the unbiblical belief that one can “lose” their sáIvation, because they are not able to spiritually discern the difference between someone who is spiritually REBORN and regenerated, indwelled AND SEALED by the Holy Spirit, and someone who isn’t, who is just a false convert. Just because a person says they’re a Christian doesn’t make it so, and I get that from scripture, as Jesus says that we will know who is truly born again from above by the fruits they bear. If a person is not indwelled and sealed by the Holy Spirit, they will NOT persevere in the faith, because the Holy Spirit tells us that through the apostle John who said of a particular group of the early Church, which turns out to be a reference to the Gnòstics who denied the deity of Christ, and that He had come in the flesh, saying “they went out from among us because they were never of us”. So, they departed from the faith because they were never Christ’s to begin with, as Romans 8 says anyone who is not born again is none of Christ’s. A person who is born again will not go off into apostasy, nor will they denounce their faith in Christ and the written Word of God, because they have the Holy Spirit guiding them. Can a born again person backslide into sìn? Of course they can, but they won’t remain in it for long, because the Holy Spirit is going to give them no peace, because they are grieving Him. Scripture tells us not to grieve the Holy Spirit, and if we are walking outside of God’s will, we will grieve Him. It’s vital for us believers in Christ to know God’s Word, to read it ourselves, to know what we should be upholding as truth. Jesus says if the scriptures aren’t our foundation, we’re built on shifting sand, and we’ll be blown to and fro by every wind of false doctrine. We have to have God’s Word as a firm foundation to have unshakable faith. How does a 2 year old understand the concept of sìn in order to be moved by the gospel, and brought to repentance and faith in Christ? They CAN’T. They can’t even read God’s Word to understand what the Law is, and that sìn is breaking the Law. And I notice she read Christian books, but how about the scriptures? Considering she doesn’t know that one must have a knowledge of sìn to be convicted to repentance and drawn to Christ by the preaching of the gospel suggests that she doesn’t know the scriptures. How can you know God without knowing His Word, since He reveals Himself to us in His Word? Do you know 70% of evangelicals deny the deity of Christ? They’re lost. What you do to Christ, you have done to the Father. I read a comment from a “believer” recently that said Jesus Christ is anti SEM !tic. Jesus, a J E W from the tribe of Judah. The King of the J E W S. How many other so called believers don’t know Jesus Christ is a J E W according to His human nature? With what’s going on in the Middle East, I’ve seen a disturbing trend of biblically uneducated “Christians” who actually believe that lshmaeI was the son of the promise given to Abraham, and that the covenant blessings of YHVH are for the lshmaeIites, the A R A ß S, not the J E W S, even though scripture identifies the lshmaeIites, known by the 🌙 symbol of their dèmon “god”, as the enemŷ of YHVH and lsraeI. This is why we need to know the scriptures.

Only your own ignorance excuses your argument. Many of the exvangelicals don't have any of the weaknesses that you list. Because you don't actually know these people, you can write screeds like this that say complete falsehoods. Since you are ignorant, you probably aren't a liar. Many, many exvangelicals are very well educated in the scriptures. Many committed their lives to Christ in as sincere a way as anyone could. Many lived lives for decades in obedience to God's word. When they discovered, however, that many of the men that they committed to were unbelievers, and many of the things they were taught were lies, they asked questions, and the evangelical answers convinced them that Evangelicalism is simply not true.

Not every saved Christian knows exactly when the moment of their salvation happened. I am one of those Christians. I do not remember a moment that I did not believe in Jesus and the words written in my Bible. Words I did not understand, but still knew they were true. Being raised in a church that believed you must be Baptized, I have in the past claimed that date as my day of salvation, when pressed to give my age and where I was saved. But I felt a strong conviction when I did that. Because I knew in my heart that was not true. the day and moment of my Baptism was a special and wonderful experience that I cherishes so much so that I refuse to be Baptized again. Some churches require that to join their church. But to me, doing it again feels like my first Baptism wasn’t good enough. The Lord assures me that it was and that is all that matters. Same with my salvation. And in spite of the fact that my testimony of my salvation is so subtle and nondramatic that I do not even know the second it happened, the Lord assures me that I am His. And that is good enough.

Everyone must see that they are sinners. When you grow into maturity, and you have grown up in a Evangelical church, you should know what living a life of sin is about. Unless the church has stopped talking about sin today. Growing up in the 1980s, My Evangelical church talked about sin and taught us about cults, back then. We were warned every Sunday morning and every Wednesday night of sin and taught about repentance. I grew into adulthood and never forgot what I learned at 12. My walk wasn't perfect by any means. I actually backslid more than a few times. But by the time reached my 30s, I was worn out by living in sin. I was broken. That is where you need to be. But God never gives up on those prodigals. He welcomes us back with open arms. But we must obey God and listen. He doesn't want us to return to the life of sin, we left.

I called my mom and told her I wanted to ask Jesus to save me. She called my father, they knelt on either side of me, and I prayed. They didn't lead me in prayer or need to read me any scripture because I knew it by heart already. I just prayed and asked Jesus to save me from my sin and take me to heaven when I died. Anyway, I was very skeptical that he was old enough to truly understand, but it was bedtime and he just kept coming back to me asking what he could do to be sure he was with God forever. So I explained real salvation to him and he was so happy; he said something like, “Yes, yes, that’s what I mean!” So we prayed and he went to bed comforted and was openly excited for weeks. My husband was saved at 5. The Gospel is simple enough for even a child to understand it. I do think there is a cut off for how young you can be though due to cognitive development that needs to take place in order to grasp the basics, a fuller understanding will happen later as the mind matures. My husband struggled with this for a while but after we were in a doctrinally sound church and started being fed meat after years of starving he has become sure in his salvation. I went through a period of questioning too and I got saved at 13. Those wishy washy "churches" start getting you to question things while solid churches help you to stand firm. Seems to me a disproportionate number of these "deconstructing" 20-somethings whose stories I see on RU-vid are kids who were raised in "seeker-sensitive"/"Word of Faith"/"Rock and Roll spectacle" churches. (But, it's not a phenomenon unique to those churches. I grew up in an Anabaptist Church of The Brethren background and still followed a similar path for most of my life until lately, as, in my 20's, I found their emphasis on unyielding pacifism very destructive to my mother and myself, as my father was a narcissist...who deceived and married my mom in large part because he could totally dominate and control her because of her "God wants you to save evil doers by being a door mat for evildoers" pacifistic faith...that she imparted to me, that is a lie and does not work.) They grow up, naturally start questioning and suddenly discover their churches have not been honest with them nor properly prepared them scripturally for the REAL trials of adult life. So, they throw themselves out with the bathwater, leave Christianity altogether, and begin searching elsewhere, OFTEN LEADING THEM INTO THE OCCULT AND OTHER EVEN MORE FALSE FAITHS. I've done it and seen it over and over and over again....and yet most churches are STILL unaware it's been happening within their walls for over 50 years! No wonder the Western world has gone so far astray in such a very short time. Breaks my heart, as I've been there and back. It was hell, literally. Love, rationality, responsibility and SOLA SCRIPTURA needs to once again become the churches' battle cry. But, sadly. many such churches still see no need to return to it, despite their declining attendances.

Why get involved in world politics? For 6,000 years man has shown he is not capable of running the world for the benefit of humanity. Things haven't got any better over the millennia, they've only got worse. The greed, corruption and oppression amongst the world's authorities has become rampant. My youngest son was saved at 6. I hope he is really saved. He had been asking questions for a long time and one night at church he looked at me and said, “I feel like I want to get saved.” So we went up front and the pastor prayed with him. Not that that’s the most important thing. It’s the change in your heart. But then my son questioned me and asked why the pastor didn’t show him in the Bible like he did everyone else. I have no idea except maybe he thought he couldn’t read that well yet. It took a couple of years to get him baptized as he was afraid of being dunked. But his sister who is 2 years younger than he is wanted to be baptized also. I didn’t have any time when I knew she went to the altar but she said she was saved one day when the preacher talked about it and she was sitting up front with his wife. So we went with that. We can’t question the heart of a sincere child. I think they understand and hope they are both saved. I was saved at 9. But I tend to question my salvation as I haven’t always lived like I should. However, I have always felt convicted. And I remember the day I was saved. I have never felt such joy bubbling out of me. My mom (rip) used to tell the story of being a little girl and some other little girl who shouted all over the church. She and her friend wanted to be like that little girl and would go to the altar and try to cry and pray. But I think Mama said she didn’t really get saved until she was 9. I also remember my great aunt telling me (she didn’t attend church due to something that happened when she was young and that’s a different story) when I went to revival with my uncle that if anyone tried to get me to go up front to not go. She knew that I would be a false conversion as I wasn’t old enough to understand yet. She always talked to me about the Bible and the end times and I appreciate that. She knew the Bible well and was a Christian. In her latter years she did find a church she could attend. Sorry for the long comment

if you want to know how and if you truly are born again, you would have to believe this with all of your heart this is the only way a man or women or child can be saved and have eternal life The real power is in the gospel according to God, it only has the power to set a person free from the bondage of sin and death. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). THE GOSPEL THAT SAVES YOUR SOUL BY BELIEVING, PAUL SPEAKING Moreover, brethren, I declared unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand, by which also you are saved if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). It is not based on human traditions, rituals, or works, but on the finished work of Christ on the cross. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Romans 5:8-10 KJV But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. The Saving Blood Of Christ Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

I was one of those kids (4 yrs) that held my hand up when the Sunday school teacher asked if I wanted to be saved. I accepted Jesus every Sunday not understanding much but that I was drawn to Him. It wasn’t until I turned 7 and caught in a lie that my dad explained to me that Jesus died for my sins. For that lie. That’s when it clicked for me what Jesus did for me and I repented sobbing and my dad led me to the Lord. So children will hear the gospel and not understand but it’s good they hear it frequently. They will hear God calling when they are ready.

I came out of the Lutheran church, and I'll give you an example of the heresy of infant baptism. Our community was mostly Latino, and so couples would visit to have their babies baptized. The church required they attend weeks in class and attend church, otherwise the "pastor" wouldn't perform the ceremony. Can you guess what happened? As soon as their baby was baptized you never saw them again. The reason being, they believed this was some magical ceremony that saved their baby, and made them believe they did their duty before God. An absolute sham! I'm an exvangelical, I joined the "cult" of being Born Again.

What a truly horrific story about someone who thinks she is a believer and is lost and headed to a Christless eternity in Hell. It is for that reason that I truly believe folks who deceive will have a greater judgment. The great news about the Mighty and only True God is that He can still save this lost young lady before it is too late. Let us pray to that end.

There was a point to what Moses was doing. Did Moses tell everybody a burning bush talked to him? I doubt it. Did Moses go year after year spreading a useless message and promising everything that felt good? Nope Did Moses's warnings about punishment come true ? Yes Did Moses preach repentance and obedience and warn them? Yes Were the people fed manna and kept warm at night and shaded in the day? Yes Were the Israelites protected from the plagues? Were they rescued from slavery? Did the sea actually part? Yes, yes, and yes. Moses knew the Lord for real. No comparison to the false prophets of today with their laughing and stories of astral projection and empty promises, false signs and wonders, wild stories, blasphemy, disrespect for the Holy Spirit and begging for money.

Imo the problem is this: People claim to be saved but never really understood the true gospel. One has to accept they are a sinner, that it is Jesus paid the penalty death , burial and resurrection and that HE IS THE ONLY WAY to eternal life and place their faith in Him. So many claim the title Christian but can’t even explain the way of salvation to people , such as this young lady couldn’t do to her Muslim friend. This is why I believe there are so many false converts. If they can’t profess Christ in who He is and what he did then they are likely not born again.

The one "church" baptized ..it was around 20 people or so....many of them were toddlers! We had gone there two or three times and all they did was talk about the military and about this upcoming " baptism".....we had heard NO Gospel message there, yet, in front of us were mere babies acting like they were performing at the Christmas pageant. There were also a number of adults who I believe were clueless as well. It was truly sad. It's ridiculous to say that children are " saved " at 2 or 3 or 10. Children are under the guardianship of their parents whose job it is to guide them to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. There is no mention in the bible of children being baptized, only men and women which are capable of making such decisions. People of different faiths will be judged according to what is in their hearts. God knows your heart.

Me and my wife have talked about children that are super young saying they were saved. And I mean not only like 5 and younger but those that are like 7 or 8 etc. it’s hard to believe that children that young understand the gospel. I know every person matures differently but it’s hard to believe children that young truly understand the cost of following Jesus. We see children at our church being baptized quite often and I just can’t help been think that they truly don’t comprehend what they are doing. I once heard that "hypocrites create atheists." As Romans 2 explains (paraphrasing here) that the name of God is blasphemed because of hypocrisy (saying one thing yet doing another). And Jesus warned of the leaven of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy. For they knew the scriptures, but their heart was in rebellion to the word and authority of God. I don't blame the rebellion of anyone who has been taught about Jesus by hypocrites. Though they have heard lots and lots of biblical information, they simply have not heard the truth spoken by someone in whom Christ dwells. They have never heard the testimony of Jesus, revealed by the Holy Spirit. Once they do hear, then they will have the opportunity to repent and believe, or reject and cling to their sin/unbelief. For most everybody in the world this has yet to happen. For what exists today is really nothing but those who have come in their own name, preaching secondhand information about Jesus yet not walking as He walked.

I think every believer, at some point, in their life goes through a Job experience. That is a person goes through an experience where they cannot tell God from the Devil. Of course, no person, except for Christ ever suffers as bad as Job did. But for a time a Christian may suffer and feels abandoned by God. Some recover and go on for the Lord. Some never get over it.

@@sacredcowtipper1378I remember reading a Rolling Stone magazine on Marine Colonel Ollie North about his role in the Iran Contra affair. North professed to be a Christian. Rolling Stone magazine is hardly a great source of truth. The Iran Contra affair was pretty sleazy and North is anything but a great theologian. But the article said that North believed "whom God loves the most He causes to suffer the most". I know we are supposed to say that God loves everybody equally but God knows whom among His people are serious about serving. CH MacIntosh in his commentaries said that God tested Abraham by telling him to sacrifice his son Isaac. God did not test Lot. He did not need to. Sodom tested Lot and Lot failed. David Wilkerson wrote that there are those God brings great suffering on because He knows that it will produce great fruit in the end.

When you have been through so much you start to question the love of God for yourself while all the while trying to reach others and you feel it makes no sense at times. Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Heb 11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. Heb 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. You should be able to discern a true believer from a false convert, if you’re indwelled by the Holy Spirit. Jesus says we will know them by their fruits. You can do all the good works you want, because even unßelievers do good sometimes, but the primary test of a true believer is are they courageous enough to stand up for the truth of God’s Word regardless of the consequences, and do they testify of Christ before men, and share the gospel with the lost, and most importantly, are they persevering in their faith in Christ regardless of what the world says about them? Or, are they compromising on the truth of the scriptures, and do they believe the world over the scriptures, and are they willing to walk away from Christ because adhering to their faith puts them at enmity with the world? A false convert will not be able to persevere in their faith in Christ when the world comes against them, because they don’t have the Holy Spirit in them giving them the strength to persevere in the face of persecution. John says we identify a false convert because they will depart from the body of believers in Christ, depart from the faith, saying “they went out from among us because THEY WERE NEVER OF US”, because anyone who is not born again is none of Christ’s, Romans 8. You will also know a Spirit filled believer by their love of God’s Word and truth.

Most disturbing testimony I ever heard as a deacon was a man who talked about 10 minutes. Less than a minute was about salvation at a young age and never really was "all that bad." The rest of the time was about how he always wanted a hobby farm and that's how he ended up at this church. I questioned the testimony, and everyone in the room including the other deacons looked at me as if I had just farted at the Thanksgiving table....unreal.

Unfortunately, you didn't want to work hard enough to actually read the author's book, so you proceeded to make a lot of assumptions that simply aren't true. She did not "lack the gumption" to stand by her faith. She spent years studying and memorizing all of the arguments for young-earth creationism and argued for it. When she went to Washington at 17 as a Senate Intern (in order to work for a 'Christian Nation'), she didn't participate in any of the sins of young people who leave home and don't believe. She didn't kiss a boy till she was 21, and then it was a boy who was determined, like her, to practice "courtship", she then married him and stayed, faithfully, married to him for the next 16 years. This is not a weak-minded young person who simply fell into whatever the crowd was following. You claim she never got saved, because she had her first experience with God at 2 years old. You didn't read her book to see the many experiences she had with God throughout her youth. You say that she wasn't truly saved, but by this definition no one is saved. Sincerely believing in Christ, turning her life over to him as Lord and Savior, living the life of a Christian, none of it is enough for you if she dares question any of the doctrines that you proclaim is Christian. Your response, like the response of many of my fellow believers in Christ, is lazy and dishonest. In this, you do not follow Christ, you follow the Prince of Lies. Instead of answer the questions of young people, you insult them, and cast them out. The reason that you don't answer their questions, is because you can't. The church, today, is indefensible. The criticisms in her book are not, mostly, criticisms of Christ or the scriptures, but rather a criticism of how that original faith has been corrupted over the last 50 years to support a political party that is neither Christian nor even moral. Her experience of republicans in Congress in the '90's was not how holy and pure the party was, but rather how the underage girls had to be warned away from Strom Thurmond because he was a well-known pedophile. No "Christians" held him accountable for this, of course, because he was "for a Christian Nation". But the current apostle and high priest of the evangelical profession, Trump, makes Strom Thurmond look like a holy man. If you would bother to actually listen to the exvangelicals, instead of excoriating them, you might find out that they are saying the same thing that Jude said. Certain men have crept in unawares and turned the faith of God into the doctrines of devils, denying even the Lord that bought them. In the '90's I was heavily involved the Christian Conservative movement. I was in a personal conversation with Senator Inhofe when Congressmen Steve Largent walked by and they greeted each other with "Keep Doing The Lord's Work". I knew many of the leaders of the movement and was in small group settings with the others. After a few years it became obvious that the "Christian" leaders in D.C. are nothing of the sort. They are not interested in any of the things that they say in public. They openly talk and laugh about how they fool Christians into giving them money, support, and votes. Lauren Boebert can get high at a Beetlejuice performance and commit public fornication, but she will still get your vote. Donald Trump can promise to seduce your wife and you will continue your idolatry of him. The Evangelical and Fundamentalist men of today are a far cry from the meek, loving, and sincere preachers of my parent's youth. These churches, today, are led by the wolves who prey on the sheep, not by the Good Shepherd. It is no wonder than we are losing the most thoughtful and intelligent young people to unbelief. Satan's greatest throne is not at the DNC, but behind the pulpit at church.
