So pretty, fresh and not at all shockingly blue. I too struggle with pigmentation in the same area you mentioned below your eye area. My Dermatologist gave me a prescription for 4% hydroquinone. It’s taken 2-3 months of daily dedication but it’s seriously lightened and has nearly erased the hyperpigmentation around my eyes and on my lower cheek/jawline. I even use it on my décolleté to take away that neckline pigmentation and hands (sunscreen is a MUST lest I erase all of my hard work in one afternoon in the sun). Thank you for your encouragement, inspiration and techniques that give me confidence when I sit down at my dressing table. Rock on sister!!! I use less and less foundation, some days I skip it all together!!!

I'm working out how to do my makeup based on my cool undertones, and soft palette, so I've been experimenting with pastels including blue, but my overall colour scheme has become very blue-grey so this eye look would actually be very useful for me, thank you. I have blue eyes, and it used to be "Don't wear blue on blue.". There is no gold or green or even a fleck.of brown in my eyes. Just gradients of gray blue to blue. I use navy liner and s really dark navy popped on the outside corner, and a peachy tone on the lids and it not only makes my eyes pop but it also makes the whites of my eyes look brighter. Navy, instead of black or brown on my tightline is gorgeous.

Well it looks beautiful on you but would never work on me all of the gray and blue Dark Shadows just make my eyes look more deep-set like little holes in my head rather than pretty eyes. I LOVE blue! Always have. I'm 63 years old & grew up in the 70s🌸. I bought some blue eyeshadow about a month ago and I just love it. I never wore it once it went out of style because of people's opinion and you know what now I don't care... I'm going to wear what I like. Life is too short to not wear blue eyeshadow.

I use to work for Estee Lauder and out uniform was navy tan and gold so I often wore navy on my eyes. On the days I did I would sell so many navy products because women would see how beautiful it looked and easy it was to wear ❤

I'm from the 60's Mary Quant/Twiggy era and vividly remember wearing heavy shiny blue eyeshadow (Moody Blues) false eyelashes with bottom lashes drawn in. 16 going on 26 the best compliment my friends and I received was how 'mature' we looked lol! 50+ yrs later still occasionally enjoy wearing a subtle blue/grey shadow similar to yours Nikol. Loved the stunning finished look.

I absolutely adore what you did with blue. It is so elegant and subtle. I noticed blue eyeshadows on the runway and was terrified, even though I bought a blue pallette. It is sitting untouched in a vanity drawer. After watching your demonstration, you inspired me to experiment today. Thank you for easing my fear and showing me how to rock the color. I think it will also look amazing with a pretty pink or neutral.

I just had to come back and thank you for more of your tips. I had no appointments today, and usually such days, I remain in my pajamas (that will be relevant soon). Immediately after watching your demonstration, I grabbed my blue pallette, my brand-new bottle of Maybelline's new, "Instant Age Rewind Eraser" (your review cinched it) my new jar of Almay Eraser Pads, and your Eye Brightener that I received as a gift very recently. I also made my mind up to do my foundation and concealer last, just like you. I sat at my kitchen island where the light is very unforgiving, and did my eyes, imitating your technique. I also used an Almay pad and a clean brush over the crease and under the brow to, "Crisp it up." I was absolutely amazed in the very best way, with the results. I have never, ever dared to work with blue, (even though I love it) especially because I was always told blue-eyed people should avoid that color. Then, I did my foundation with the Maybelline product you showed us the other day, copying your buffing out technique. I was STUNNED with the results. I am hugely fussy about foundation. La Mer, ReNutriv, and T.F. Shade & Illuminate Soft Radiance Foundations, are what I wear daily. I do not even know what to say about this foundation except, if it wears well for several hours, it is my new daily, "Go to." The color is perfect, and the way it applies, is sublime. I could not believe it is a drugstore brand. But partially figured out why it is such high quality after reading the bottle amount .68 Oz (it's usually 1.0). I believe it was $17.49 for the bottle, that makes it well over $30 per ounce, which I would no longer consider a drugstore price. Maybelline is really stepping up their game, and a very small amount goes a long way. I have been struggling with concealers and was about to give up hope, but then I tried your Eye Brightener. WOW (in the very best way). I cannot believe how much brighter my undereyes are. What an amazing product...it hides a multitude of sins and does not settle into wrinkles. After finishing up, I just stared at myself for several minutes looking for flaws, because I could not believe what I was seeing. Then I took my mirror outside to check in the harshly bright light of the sun, while still in my pajamas. My husband pulled into the driveway and began laughing at the spectacle I was making of myself. He told me I "looked at least 20 years younger, and too pretty to be at home in my P.J.s...to get dressed because we are going out to dinner." He is showering now. It is a little too early for dinner, so I have time to sincerely thank you for all that you teach us in so many important aspects...not just makeup. You are an inspiring role model for me even though I am in my 60s...a lot older than you. What you do is so important to many of us. I had pretty much given up on ever feeling this happy about my appearance ever again, and it would not have been possible without you. As much as aging is a privilege, it can also be a little traumatic too. There are times I feel like my body is failing me no matter how hard I try. Once upon a time, I used to be a head turner. Currently, there are times when I feel more irrelevant by the day. Sorry for being so verbose...I usually do not comment. I am excited and need for you to know what a tremendously positive impact you have on me, and how important your work is. Thank you again.

It's so easy to feel invisible after a certain age, but these tips and tricks are so helpful and help reinforce that confidence to face the ageist world we live in.. I am a cosmetologist and do hair, makeup and spray tans, and It's so great when women can pick up a product here and there, practice with it, and own their space in the world - at the age tbey are. I am 56, and have no intention of "trying to cling to looking younger." I just work on looking my best at my age, and that builds the confidence that makes me seem more attractive, I think. I cringe , sometimes when I look in the mirror. It's hard to feel "not as pretty as,I used to be," but forget that. That "glow" comes from a deeper place. No makeup or hair dye can give us that. Keep playing, and embrace your fabulosity!

Love this look! A nice grey/blue - subtle but stunning! I've been looking to change up my shadow from "autumn" tones to something that will brighten up my look without being overdone. At age 73, I lived through all of that shimmery blue eye shadow and Twiggy lashes! Won't be going back there! At last...it was so great seeing you use a gray blue. I have hazel eyes and have always worn gray blues, navy's and gray greens. I have read over the years that using these colors was a no-no and yet when I would try to use the browns and mauves, they looked terrible. With the grays. ....First one here ?! I've not ever worn Navy , other than an eyeliner, which i wore quite a lot in the 90's, as well as in the 70 's ! ( yessss, I'm nearing 70,lol) I am interested in trying this ! Born in the 60’s, grew up in the 70’s and became a teenager in the 80’s. I have always loved blue shadow, but ours was like the blue chalk we used on our pool cue sticks. I love the darker navy color and even though I have blue eyes, I’m using it - don’t care about the opinions of others. They’re my eyes. Thanks for this demo, it looks awesome!

Hello. This is the first time I’ve seen your channel. I’m fifty eight and love makeup. I even love blue eyeshadow. Yes, even that powder, baby blue. The one that they wore back in the sixties and seventies. And one thing that is nice about nowadays. It seems that most things are acceptable when it comes to fashion as well as makeup. You can pretty much wear what you want. And as long as you can stand the off putting looks of others, it’s okay to wear what you want. At least that is my observation on the matter. And I’m so glad it’s like that. I enjoy wearing my blue eyeshadow. I tend to wear all shades. I think most things look alright as long as they are done in moderation. I don’t think someone my age should go around trying to look like they are twenty or thirty something. But I also don’t think you can’t have fun with your makeup. In fact just yesterday I put on false eyelashes! First time! Hated it. So I won’t be doing that again. I looked so silly. With my hooded eyes, it just didn’t give me the right look. But it was fun trying. And now I know. Never really wanted to mess with them when I was younger. And I don’t now! Anyway, I enjoyed your video. I’m sure I’ll be watching more of them. Thank you for choosing blue! :)It's always been my favourite eyeshadow colour and as I have blue eyes it makes them even bluer. (Some claim it competes with blue eyes and wash them out but I disagree). Over the last years, I was a bit hesitantto apply blue as it seemed out of fashion, but I still did it now and then because it really suits me, and I find the natural beige, taupe or brown shades so bland on me. Your tutorial is perfect and the result gorgeous and chic. I think the key is first to choose blue eyeshadow when wearing neutral outfits or something blue (light or navy), and to avoid a very bright blue eyeshadow, unless we're in our twenties and by a swimming-pool in summer :D Secondly, I avoid blue eyeshadow with a red, green, orange, hot pink or yellow shirt.

I love dark blue also. My first by MAC a long time ago was a dark blue. I have in my collection some: Deep Thruth by MAC, Blue Marine by NYX, Bella Navy by Milani and one beautifull in my Backstage Bombshell kit by Victoria's Secret. I have some pencils like jumbo by NYX, one by Clinique and a máscara from Korea brand. Blue, purple, grey and Black are always my faves ! Oh, and I'm 61 😘 Big hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷

I hated/hate those overly thick brows that have overwhelmed so many faces throughout the last decade. Not talking about natural brows!! But those 'painted' on highly artificial brows smothering natural shapes that are unique to ones own face. That's why everyone looks cookie cutter- that K-J face....ugh

It looks great but I still prefer you in classic neutral shades. I would however, like to see you in a green eyeshadow which I think would suit your tone better than the blue.
