Great Video! Loved all your picks! The Dirty Martini Palette is my favorite green palette, too. It's so good. 💚😍 I totally agree with you on the Mikayla palette. It really didn't need all those nudie shades.
Hi Lea! No, I wasn't able to film this look in a full-length video, but tomorrow's "While I Was Out" will feature it and what palette(s) I used to make it. I hope that helps!
The eyeshadow look is so gorgeous! Question about the Tresluce blush formula: is it pigmented or sheer that you can build up? I’ve seen those pop up on the Ipsy sale page.
Hey Kathleen! I'd say the Tresluce blush formula is pigmented AND buildable... I just use such a small amount that it's hardly noticeable. To be fair, I don't have lots of experience with blush, but I dab quite lightly into the pan and get enough color for my tastes. Hope that helps. (Glad you like the eye look too!)
Yay!! I love eyeshadow palette tag vids. 4) Glamlite is worth it at full price if u can afford it, but that palette is normally $35. 😅 I remember I waited what felt like eternity for the Dirty Martini palette to go on sale and they finally had a 30% in the spring following its release (which they seem to do every yr). 6) I cannot buy a palette if it has packaging I hate bc I know I won't use it. Glamlite saves me a ton of money bc I can't buy their awkward food shaped or cartoon IP palettes. 😂 CP does mostly well, but designs like Heavy Petal's were a no. BB's Retro palette - def no. SG XOXO palette - no. 7) For the singles question, I've found that the trick is to mostly buy from brands that do magnetic pans. I find that I still gravitate twds pre-made palettes, but magnetic pans allow me to mix and match, rearrange palettes, and create condensed travel palettes. 😁 So now I prioritize brands w magnetic palettes or single availabilty: Unearthly, CP, Adept, Nomad. This allows me to buy singles only on occasion from singles-heavy brands like Devinah or Sydney Grace. It took some trial and error to build my dream singles palette and I didn't even know I was doing it until I had made it and used it. I had bought the colorful shades being picky about whether they'd go w my undertone. The final piece was finding the perfect transition shades. SG didn't have them, but after some searching, CP did! The palette turned out to be one I can do slightly colorful everyday looks with, but can also go more dramatic with a black and darker mattes. It is a pink, lavender, green, blue palette where all the shades suit my yellow undertone. (I don't need yellows, oranges, or peaches bc I have good standalone palettes for those). 10) I don't get face palettes either. 😅 They're good for ppl who wear the same exact blush, bronzer, and highlighter everyday and if a person actually fits that narrow skintone window of that combo.... But I can't do that. 🙅🏻♀️ I don't wear highlighter and my blush changes almost everyday depending on the eyeshadow.
Oh hi! And thanks for all your answers! Yes yes to your "ugly packaging" comments... it's such an experience to use a palette, isn't it? I don't like food-themed palettes (looking at you, Glamlite), weirdly-shaped palettes (that boot from Wicked Widow??), ND Retro Glam (too '70's)... Your ideal palette sounds really pretty! And I can't believe that Dirty Martini is $35.... I do not remember paying near that when I bought it, but I did go during Black Friday.
