@@rocketassistedgoat1079 IT does not, thats why at high aoa you dont use stick for rolling, but rudder. F14 can do barrell roll opposite way than steerimg input (at certain conditions)

I wonder if it has something to do with the sweep wings? The MiG-23, also uses spoilers, so maybe their designers came to the same conclusion. I'll add, that elite MiG-23 pilots, can go 1-1 vs MiG -29s in mock dogfights. Mikoyan added his own requirement, which went above and beyond the design brief: he made sure it could turn inside an F-4 Phantom, which he was personally impressed by. Of course, a MiG-23 is a third generation jet, MiG-29 and Tomcat, are forth gen.

the F-105 also uses spoilers when rolling, and that doesn't have swing-wings. It uses both spoilers and ailerons when rolling

@@mr.sunmeadow probably because of a similar reason. When the wings were slicked back there is very little air for an aileron to interact with and the same holds true for the starfighter with it's little stubs.

I am sure that if War thunder would just reskin the f-14 and make it an f-15 everyone would like ''WOW new aircraft, so epic'', while the flight models in War thunder are all the same unrealistic low quality flight models (for newer generation aircrafts mostly, some of their ww2 aircrafts aren't bad at all but there isn't a single jet that is even close to be called semi realistic, yeah doing some 15Gs on max afterburner for the whole game without going out of fuel and not ripping your wings apart) There is just so much overrated hype for a new aircraft that just is a new skin basically in this game, unlike something like DCS where a new aircraft REALLY means new aircraft and not just a skin.

That's not skill. That's just the physics being terrible. Wouldn't surprise me if this was with the instructor on as well.

@@Hydra_6544 yeah, even then it's kinda tricky to recover from a flatspin like it. I play the F14 in DCS and it can actually be kind of cool to to recover from it at the last second. If I was someone who made cinematics for the tomcat I would definitely include a flatspin somewhere

The B model has significantly more thrust and such has better power to weight ratio. The plane actually has a greater than 1 thrust to weight when clean loaded and low-ish fuel state (50 percent or less) which is pretty nuts considering the F14 is the heaviest naval fighter the US navy has ever flown. The F4 may have shown that with enough thrust, even a brick can fly, but the F14B shows that with enough thrust, you can make a brick break Mach 1 straight up.

@@lonelyone69 yes, but claiming that there's no difference between A and B model in game if compressor stalls isn't modeled is incorrect - because the B has a 30 percent better power to weight ratio than A. The extra power would be modeled even if compressor stalls aren't. That *would* be a significant difference in game.

@@SPIRIT-117 The extra thrust did not reflect in better combat performance. It just made them break less and didn't cause stall issues at slow speed. The plane still maneuvered the same just with a 1 second cut off 360 full turn time. The issue with the tomcats was not the engines it was the clunky large airframe that bled speed like an early hurricane. Without the stalling there will be basically no difference between the models. The only way you'll see it is if you're not loaded in which case whats the point in flying it in the first place.

You are telling me that the same airframe, with the same weight and drag characteristics, but with engines that output 30 percent more thrust, isn't going to have advantages in how it handles? You're fucking high lmao. F14B will accelerate quicker, gain airspeed quicker after a turn when at full power, with 30 percent more total power in the engines. Garuntee that when WT gets around to adding the F14B, it's a slightly higher BR than the A since its extra engine power gives it the ability to energy fight better. When they do, it'll mean your original claim of "no difference" is wrong.
