This is the Broncos with a rookie QB and and decent at best defense, and all Fields and the offense could muster was 13 points? ONE touchdown on 21 drives…… but sure, keep making excuses

Because Pickett had a winning record yet was ran out of town because he couldn’t SCORE. Yet just because the QBs name is Fields, we give him a pass. Shady said it perfectly. He isn’t losing you games which is good, but to only have ONE touchdown off 21 drives is bad. It’s not even like Fields is going up again elite defenses. Pittsburgh is on pace to score 9 total touchdowns all season…….. and you’re going to sit here and say that’s fine? The Steelers are winning solely because of their defense. As soon as they face a competent offense or if the defense has an off game, they are in trouble.

Yet one (Fields) is being glorified as this starter who is doing well and the other (Pickett) was ran out of town and was considered one of the worst QBs in the league……. Nothing Shady said was wrong. Fields is playing decent….. not great, but not bad. If we were to dig through and find all the “what if” plays for every QB, then all the stats would be way different and records would be broken. The funny thing is the backup QBs job is literally to “not lose the game” and they aren’t expected to go out and score a ton of points. Fields is literally doing what pretty much every backup is expected to do. Starters are expected to score points. At least more than one touchdown on 21 total drives…… I’m a Steelers fan and want nothing more than to see Fields be great. B it let’s not be delusional and start giving Fields all these what if scenarios when we never gave Pickett that. If fans and analysts thought Pickett was mediocre, then wait until they find out Fields has statistically and analytically been on par with him……. Fields deserves another game, but he is not the undisputed starter like those other guys think.

So I don’t expect Fields to do that. But to have just one touchdown offensively on 21 drives is inexcusable. If that was Pickett, all these fans and analysts would be tearing him apart for that. Doesn’t matter who the QB was, the Steelers had a touchdown to GP, a 50 yard dime that would’ve gotten them inside the 10 and a third down conversion in the second half ALL called off because of flags. That’s the Steelers fault. Sure, some of the holds and the OPI were soft calls. But the refs make that choice. Have to be better. Justin should’ve had over 200 in the air and Steelers should’ve had been 23-30 points. Also, don’t forget the DIME he threw that drew a blatant DPI. They got big yards on that play but he doesn’t get credit for it. But that ball was BEAUTIFUL.
I dont get why we are here, he made three good plays is the reason he should be the starter. What happens when we are in the final four critical games, and we loose, but its ok, cause Fields got some really good plays. I am totally fine with fields being in right now, he is showing improvement. Shady one of my favorites…but he definitely watching the games…because how do you blame JF? It doesn’t matter what QB is back there…if Pat was back there and every crucial pass that he COMPLETES gets called back how is that pats fault? As a person that wasn’t overly excited to get the bears leftovers I’ve been very pleased from JF’s play. If you take away the penalties that were caused by others not doing their job properly then Fields has a fantastic game.
Shady rode the coat tails of all the other offensive star power that surrounded him. You see once Chip came to town he immediately became a nonfactor. And why was this? He only wishes that he could have been half of the player that Justin Fields is.
Fields has done enough to start another week but he hasn’t done enough to keep his job when/if Russ is healthy to return. Because only have 1 touchdown on 22 drives is not good. And there will be times your defense faces a tougher challenge where offenses will challenge them. They’ve played the cold start falcons and the abysmal Broncos. Wait til they play the cowboys, the bengals, chiefs, or ravens. Those offenses will put real points on the board and having 6 field goals and “not turning the ball over” isn’t enough. Yes it’s a great stat to not turn the ball over, but we also gotta make something shake on offense
I’m South African and I’ve only started to follow the NFL like two years ago. I don’t know much but I’m learning at a considerable pace. One thing I’ve learnt is how your commentary is just about hate 80% of the time. And these idiots are loud and lack real substance. I know they wouldn’t make it as head coaches, not bright enough. This Shady takes it to the next level! I’ve never routed for a player as much as I do for Justin just to make this shady look dumb!

He said he hasn’t earned the title of being the STARTER meaning if Wilson is healthy, it wouldn’t matter. If anyone is saying Fields has earned the starting job, then you better not have been upset at Pickett. They are literally doing the EXACT same thing same thing. Safe QB play, no turnovers, very little points scored.
