It's unfortunate but she's a product of common core education. Every module there encourages student to explain things with emotion. One activity was a situation. The kid wants a toy, but the parents won't buy it. The student is required to write a speech on why the parents should by the toy. Try to use emotional words when writing the speech. My sister who was an obama fan, still put her kids through that common core bs. I watched courteous nephews who would do "mano po" (it's a Filipino gesture of respect to any elder) to become belligerent, tattooed, dyed hair liberals in a span of a few years. Juvenile detention to them is some sort of achievement and my sister has had to bail them several times. They still live with her and her life is miserable. I did tell her to homeschool or return to the Philippines and have the kids continue education there. But she wouldn't listen.

I had a couple of hours to wait until my own event started, so I decided to watch some of the other panels. I remember watching a discussion panel on Women's Studies where a very angry young woman stood up, made a statement about rape culture amongst male oriented institutions on campus (not just frats, but other organizations such as STEM oriented clubs that tend to be male dominant) and suggested that the statistical information regarding rape percentages on campus must be skewed because male dominated organizations were actively working in concert with the campus administration to suppress reporting of those rapes. I was struck at the time by the circular logic of her argument, but the panel's speakers incorporated her basic assumption (the majority of campus organizations are male dominated, therefore they are complicit in covering up rapes, thus making the rape statistics used by the campus administration to show progress made in reducing numbers of rapes invalid, thus requiring even more activism to put pressure on the administration to emphasize the need to reduce the, obviously, skyrocketing number of on-campus rapes) into their statements. As the discussion continued, more and more clearly angry and impassioned men and women stood up to add to the discussion, their statements often met with cheers and encouragement from both the audience and the members of the panel. I also observed how the arguments became more and more circular and self-supporting, at least as long as one accepted the initial statement (it wasn't the actual initial statement, the young lady was the first to ask a question after I entered the room, so I assume more conversation on the subject had taken place prior to my entry) by the young woman regarding institutional bias invalidating reporting of on-campus rape. By the time I decided to leave, the questioners had started to share stories of how they'd been raped by fellow students, most of them sharing anecdotes of being cat-called and "being eyed like meat", some of them postulating that they'd been raped after waking up on a strange couch or floor with a hangover after a night out carousing. It was, perhaps, the most logically insane thing I'd ever seen. Statements of presumption were accepted as fact, incorporated into the next speaker's argument as fact, and used as part of the foundation of perspective for following statements and questions. At no point did any of the five panel members question or challenge any of the presented "evidence" or factual postulations. No-one, panel member/speaker or student/questioner stopped to challenge the assumption presented by the first speaker or in any way attempted to undermine the following arguments based upon the foundation of that assumption. I am a structural engineer by trade, and I can tell you that if I tried to assess the stability of a proposed building or bridge using the methods I saw that day, I would happily approve a 50-story building shaped like an inverted cone made of paraffin wax designed to house 10,000 persons. And everyone would congratulate me on my "boldness" or my "courage to embrace progress" even as the thing collapsed behind me. The mindset behind the young lady shown in this video is literally insane.

She was so rehearsed it was ridiculous. So coached and conditioned it was laughable to witness. Go on and watch it again. You can see she pauses...hesitates...takes that deep breath and then blasts. Anyone that was truly angry would just...be angry. And you'd know. Because it's an irrational anger and words are just flowing. With Greta though, she had to get her mannerisms right for the words on the paper, so this is a forced reaction. An act. Because she's an actor. Probably because she was coached into believing that the angrier you sound, the more powerful your words become AND the more people will believe the validity of those words. And they'd be right, if the anger she projected was truly 100% her own and not a scripted response. If you have to work at being angry, then the facade falls away immediately.

@@BigDaddyJinx that's a very interesting analysis, and I quite agree in fact I would even say that all those things you pointed out accurately were just out there in plain sight, but the trickster spirit inside Greta as an actor was able to sway her audience with a contrived anger. The audience present during that time were most likely "hypnotized" so they'd accept anything at face value. It's the same phenom present in those fake evangelical churches preaching healing and prosperity. The crowd cheers the preacher becoz they're hearing something they want to hear, and all others present who are unconvinced have no choice but to run along with the flow, just like what mob syndrome denotes. Emotions, particularly hatred and anger, are very strong tools when weaponized, it makes people defy logic and rationality. I never fell for Greta's contrived presentation not for one minute becoz as you pointed out, it was so "coached", and acted out in a very poor way I must say. Insincere and inauthentic as she is, Greta is just a one trick pony.
