I like them both! I def have always preferred the EAH dolls, but prefer the Descendants storyline (is it because of the songs? It’s definitely because of the songs😭). They both took the concept of “children of fairytale characters” and ran in different directions with it.

people forget that ever after high was never in fact a very profitable franchise for Mattel, sales were always far below those of Barbie and Monster High, so yes there could be interference from Disney, but it was the low sales that sealed the fate of ever after high.

Unfortunately, there's no way to fix it. Disney punished Mattel for Ever After High by pulling the Disney Princess line, which was a billion dollar loss for Mattel. There's no way on Earth that Disney will let them revive it. Mattel never should have started a line of Fairy Tale Princess kids without consulting with Disney first. It was an incredibly stupid mistake. I lived EAH, but it's gone, sadly.

@@CharGrogu I'm not defending Disney, I'm just stating what happened. That's what happened. So there's no point in getting defensive with me, thanks. Disney got upset about it and pulled the license because they felt Mattel was trying to piggyback on the success of the Disney princess line. Mattel should have anticipated that, they were stupid not to. I loved EAH, and was very disappointed that it ended.

As someone who was a fan of the EAH shows over the dolls (which ironically was the main point), I was devastated when the doll's failure meant the show wouldn't continue.

Disney annoys me because the stories they used for the princesses aren’t theirs to begin with! These fairytales are all public domain! I hate how they try to have a monopoly on something that was never really theirs to begin with!

Maybe Disney can make a whole reboot of Descendants in partnership with Mattel, using the EAH lore with the Disney characters designs and make a sort of multimedia hybrid project... Like what Mattel did with MH G1 in partnership with Universal so they could use the Universal's classic monsters looks for the dolls. That could be a win win for Mattel and Disney.

Ever After High and Monster High first came out when Mattel still had the Disney license before it went to Hasbro. Disney felt Mattel was focusing more on EAH and MH and that's why the last few Disney Princess Mattel doll qualities were so bad. Also, Disney was coming up with Descendants, which is similar to Ever After High but Mattel does not want to drop EAH. This is why the licensing went to Hasbro. Mattel lost a great deal of their budget for EAH and MH, when they lost Disney so EAH/MH quality became less good until they were cancelled... it was only when Mattel regained the Disney Licensing that they started producing Monster High dolls again, and with great quality thanks to the Disney money.. but the Disney Princess dolls are still trash.. I doubt theyd be able to make Ever After High return, now that they are also making the new Descendants dolls.. they wont want Disney to pull out the licensing again... though I really believe if anything, Jakks Pacific should have the sole licensing for basic and mass produced dolls, as the Encanto dolls were better compared to what Mattel and Hasbro previously had.

If Ever After High had a reboot .My theory PeachY is that Mattel will Recycle or Repurpose maybe Reuse some of the G3 Monster high bodies and used the Barbie Dream Besties heads and Mattel will make similar toy packaging, design, animated series & characters/dolls

I never got into Ever After High growing up, it just wasn’t for me but it’d be cool for them to bring it back. I think there is room for both to coexist, mattel has done such an amazing job with their disney dolls as of recent so I definitely want them to continue their partnership. Especially because the disney dolls hasbro made were just atrocious. I think having EAH collectible dolls could be a start and see where that goes. I was even thinking they could do EAH collectible disney dolls, similar to those of the MH Skullector dolls.

I think the only way that Mattel could make EAH come back is if they make a clear distinction between DP & Mattel own property. They would need permission from diseny to bring it back & Mabey they could do a limited edition DP X EAH collab where a line of special edition dolls are made of the DP girls but in EAH style & design.

I do loved Ever After High Series but I am disappointed that ever after high series was cancelled because there's so much things that need to be resolved before the series will finally end like revealing Cerise Hood's family secret, Who's Apple's destiny Prince, how Darling became the white knight, the Ever After High graduation day and show what they doing in the future now, but unfortunately this is not going to happen so the writers decided to end with the cliff hanger. But who knows maybe in the Series will get reboot or revive in future just like Monster High with new characters dolls designs.

The only way Ever After High would ever make a comeback is if Disney somehow gets a slice of the profits. Like, maybe they go the G3 route where they have an animated show on Disney Channel, or even move the old webisodes from Netflix to Disney+

The issue isn’t between Ever After High and Disney Princesses, the issue is between Ever After High and Decedents. Because they’re the exact same concept, the sons and daughters of fairytale characters going to high school and having adventures of their own. Plus the fact that Ever After High is better quality and has more of an interesting and entertaining story line than Decedents.

that had to irk them, that the first releases of EAH dolls were INSANELY intricate. the detailing, this was well before printed fabrics on everything. i own all of the original DD dolls, even from the jump the quality was BUCKETS below EAH's launch. evie's hair is DISGUSTING. their clothing is printed paper. mattel showed disney up hard, i dont know what disney was thinking letting hasbro showcase their new IP how horribly they did. id LOVE to get rid of all my original DD dolls

Given the current state of Hasbro as a business, I don't think they'd ever try to get back the Disney Princess license the next time it goes up for bid. Jakks Pacific has a better chance at bidding for it since their working relationship with Disney is already two decades strong... but they first have to WANT to bid, which is the problem.

You’re Right, it’s such an annoying situation cuz I want Disney to be able to make great dolls cuz they’ll clearly sell more. To stay with Matel is good for business, but then cuz the Disney name is so big they’re gonna sell regardless; so they could just sign with anyone, but if you want quality then I’d stay with Matel. As an original Ever After Fan I of course want them to comeback so bad😭😭😭💔💔 It breaks my heart what happens to them and how badly they declined in Show and Dolls💔💔💔💢💢💢 I’d love for them to be revived, and shoot, I’d be happy if Disney would just buy Ever After High so we can get out girls back (Idek if that’s ethical, but I just want them back so bad). The show and the dolls were just so iconic 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️ If I could choose I’d bring Ever After High back with Zero Hesitation, but business wise I understand that Disney can do so much more than Ever After High. Cuz honestly, part of the reason that Ever After High probably faded into the dust was because of how new they were. Every After High was on the Rise, but Disney is Historical; so business wise I think Matel should continue with Disney, but bias wise I’d choose Ever After High. Ever After High was new, fresh, cute, and had such an interesting concept. So I actually was upset with Disney for making Descendants (at first) cuz we already had that concept either Ever After High and Once Upon a Time.

I wish Disney would stop bullying other companies. EAH was different enough. If the dolls were selling better than Disney, maybe it was because the Princesses at the time looked so cheap with molded on clothes. Kids/Collectors prefer something with quality and creativity. I never liked the Disney Princess dolls because it's just the same thing over and over. Maybe Mattel could partner with HotTopic or something to make stuff targeted at teens and adults, so there won't be brand confusion for younger kids.

I feel like if Mattel somehow lost the rights again, they wouldn't bring back Ever After High. They didn't have the license for years, yet didn't revive the series in any shape or form. I feel like there may be a deeper legal issue here that prevents EAH's return as a whole.

I believe the only reason Disney doesn’t want Mattel to revive EAH is because like you were saying on the video, EAH would probably do better in sales and quality verses the Disney Princess dolls, which have seemed to go down in quality if you ask me. I would luv for EAH to come back because they are another loved brand that Disney knows is high in demand. Let’s be honest nobody is really asking for Disney Princess dolls unless they improve the quality. I fear that Mattel won’t bring back EAH like they did with MH, even though I’m sure they know that fans are dying for it to make some kind of comeback. All we can do is hope that they eventually decide to bring it back, and hope that Disney doesn’t interfere with the comeback.

The Ever After High cartoon show may never come back but a reproduction of the eah dolls would be cool. I mean there are so many eah fans that wanna buy the dolls but eah dolls are so hard to find for a good and fair price these days. Maybe a fairy-production dolls lol. Only one can dream. To me, Ever after high is more worth it… sure they have big heads but the outfits look a lot more detailed then these basic Disney princess dolls especially with heels… there are still millions of ever after high fans… and there’s even ever after high dolls that are selling for an expensive amount of money because of how rare it is apparently… and ever after high was based on the brothers grim fairytales… has more characters, plot and everything then Disney princess ever has… don’t get me wrong I love Disney princesses… but EAH eats more.

Why in the world would Mattel do anything with the Live Action Flops. I mean Mulan flopped, as did Aladdin flopped new dolls on these movies will just be shelf space and be clearance bound from the day they release them. It would be a huge mistake for Mattel to make any product on these movies that have the selling prospect of a drink coaster. I think they need to concentrate on doing limited edition Disney items. I mean Disney Store puts a price of 150 on their limited edition dolls, why would Mattel not then do a more toned down version of what Disney Store releases for like a 60 dollar price tag , so those that cannot afford a 150 price tag . I also don't see why EAH and Disney Princess can't exist , EAH looks nothing like the Disney Princess brand . EAH is not the Disney Characters per say , it is their kids, but even then they don't really use the same characters as descendants so there would not be a clash there either. The stories are no where the same , as Disney Princess are the classic stories , and EAH are new stories, they are stories to build off. I mean if Mattel has Monster High and Universal has The Movie Monsters , then there should be no issue as to why Disney Princess and EAH can't exist especially if they just do collectible limited edition EAH dolls like 3 a year or 4 . Then There would be no competition.

Heck they could do a Disney and EAH collab where each year they release a EAH doll themed after a Disney movie, Like right now it would be great if they like released a EAH Wonderland White Rabbits Child doll at a collectors price like 75 dollars, they would get ate up.I think a collab would be a great compromise to the issue.

one thing i think we CAN change about this situation is the way we view it as a community. i like both descendants and eah, they are both great franchises with great artists and fans behind them. the problem here is not descendants killed eah, it’s DISNEY killed eah. we should not be mad at each other, but at mattel and disney for not letting the two franchises coexist.

This sucks so much becuz I would rather have eah. I've only recently gotten into Disney dolls as an adult collector and I think the Disney store dolls could do with a team that can make better than cheap ass play line but not collector level. They rely on their license for that too much. Also now with the success of the jaks ily dolls even if Disney didn't want to pick up the slack jaks can clearly do a good job. I miss eah

Honestly, I'd pick Ever After High - its a unique concept and at their peak they make for more interesting dolls than Disney, since one IPs design focuses on the doll design, while the other makes dolls of an existing design made for animation. Also there's Disney store dolls anyway. How many Disney dolls do I need? I agree tho that the Mattel Disney dolls are objectively better, however I did like that Hasbro TRIED something different with some of the style/celebration lines. I'm just kinda over getting repetitive dolls of the same characters in the same outfit over and over. Lets move on and do something creative again. (Also if Ever After High was back, maybe Disney designers would step up their game too. A little competition isn't bad, especially for us as the customers, since we will be getting better products. Just look at how Mattel suddenly stepped up their game because of MGAE)

I think the only solution would be to Mattel create a side company and host EAH there. Sell the whole rights and everything to this second company and let them handle EAH. That said, I don't want that. Disney is absolutely disgusting. They would yeet from Mattel licensing, Mattel would lost a lot of money that would interfere in many doll brands, Barbie and, most importantly, Monster high. Not to mention that I fear an EAH reboot. EAH should continue from what it was canceled, but from a marketing standpoint it doesn't make sense. Kids dont know the show or characters to just get it following from where it stopped. Side note I dislike disney princess. How many of the same doll with the same gimmick and dresses you can make? Like, it's insane. Collector dolls I understand, bcs adults are buying, but the general princess doll is just insane to me. Maybe it's because they are not a thing where I live, kids don't care about disney all that much, so meh, the whole line to me is stupid

TBH I'm fed up with the same old same old Disney Princess line, EAH were more creative, so I wish to see them in production again in the future, here's hoping, even if it won't be easy I know...🩷😢🎀🌸
