When we say God is faithful, we typically think of things He’s done in our lives. However, His faithfulness extends far past our individual worlds. Watch today’s episode to begin getting a picture to the limitless bounds of God’s faithfulness, and why it matters.

I teach in a Bible College in India. In the subject of Christianity and Contemporary Cultures, every year, we read your book, "Culture Shock" as part of our reading requirement. Thank you!

I was falsely arrested in 2017 in Wyoming for crimes that I did not commit. I was a believer and I knew my scripture, but it was the worst experience of my life; facing 10 yrs in prison if found guilty. "I will never leave you nor forsake you" but I never felt God's presence, even once. That experience caused my faith to buckle. Had I done something to offend God? Had I missed some codicil? I came to question everything that I believed re: God, Christ and scripture. I realize that bad things happen to Christians, but what stayed with me was that feeling that I was alone; abandoned. I haven't opened my Bible since then as it tends to trigger the memory of jail, where I read my Bible frequently. I can't pray, as I remember that my prayers in jail were never answered, so I have come to a point where it's like, "What's the point of prayer? Bad things will happen regardless." I guess now I see God from a Deist point of view. I believe there is a Creator but perhaps He doesn't have much interest in me in a personal way. I wonder why God would allow such an experience to happen knowing it would destroy my faith. I don't mean to sound sacrilegious, I'm just being honest.

Your story hurts my heart. I am so sorry that you had to endure this. I'm not going to combat anything, but I want you to know that God has a deep and personal interest in you & not only that, but He WANTS you. You are so loved by our creator and He has never and will never give up on you. I am so sorry for the experience you've gone through. God sees and hears you.

@@brookevandevelde8393 Brooke you're a sweetheart and a kind woman. Thank you for your compassion. So many millions have gone through far worse than what I endured; I'm acutely aware of that. I'm trying to come back to Him. Once you've encountered Christ it's difficult, as I'm sure you know, to abandon or put Him completely out of your life. Or your mind. I admire ppl who have unshakeable Job-like faith. How is your walk with Christ? Tell me about that if you'd like to. Again, blessings upon you for being an encourager to others.

@@jimgarrison7340 I am so happy to hear you're coming back! God is always waiting for us. I struggled in 2020 with my faith, because I got hurt by the church I was going to. I had spoke with them about it for over a year & they said a bunch of nice things, but really didn't follow through at all. I struggled with depression, anxiety and reading my Bible, though I did still pray relentlessly. I was so emotionally/mentally exhausted, that I couldn't read much of the Word, though I wanted to. I took a small break from the big C church and throughout that time was able to heal. What re-energized my faith was getting hurt by someone I love, seeing their trauma and struggle & praying all day every day for them, which I'm still doing. I have never felt stronger in my faith & God has taught me a lot during this season. You can also pray for this person who is dear to my heart. Just pray however you feel lead. God is good, even when we're hurting.

Wow, I can see how that could make your faith struggle. All I can think of is Daniel in the Bible going to jail for doing what was right and spent years there. He later said to his brothers (who sold him into slavery and then eventually was put in prison,) “you meant it for evil, but God meant it for good”. God used his circumstances to later help many. Continue in the faith. God does love and longs for a relationship with you where he can work in and through you.

We just watched this video in my Bible study. I am a relatively new Christian and hadn’t heard of Chip Ingram before. This was a really good video and our leader mentioned the app, which I’ve now put on my phone and really look forward to watching, listening, and reading more of his content.

I always felt that with 7 billion souls on earth, my prayers were unnecessary due to the huge demand upon God for help from His hordes. Maybe we're being kind and considerate to God by not burdening Him with another pesky request. Give God a Break day should become a new holiday. With the slogan "He's been listening to your crap for 6000 years! Give Him a break for crying out loud."

If it's God's will that this shall come to pass in my life and that will not, then why pray?

Phil 4:6 be anxious for nothing...but through prayer and supplication let your request be known to the Lord...🙏🤔

Hi there! Chip has 2 great resources that may help to answer that question. Both are free so don't worry about cost. The first is a series called The Power of Prayer. the second is a free online course called How to Experience God in Prayer. You can find them both here: livingontheedge.org/?s=prayer. Let us know if there is anything more we can do to serve you. Have a blessed new year!
