If they ground this series like they did in Captain America: Winter Soldier, I'm sold. That's still my favorite Marvel movie...

I've always been indifferent about Falcon and Bucky but the fact that they're actually touching on the catastrophic real life consequences of the blip has me sold and I am ALL in for this

I like that falcon actually gets a little fucked up in his fight scene. He's not superhuman, he shouldn't be able to get out unscathed.

Not gonna lie, I had never cared about Bucky's character before this, but this episode has got me super invested in him!

True Cap - Winter Soldier vibes with this show. One of the best MCU movies.

I'm kind of excited to see some of the basic implications of the blip, not at all worried of being bored as long as it is well-written!

So, this review episode really hit home one of the reasons why I think AJ is starting to slip in his own review. Earlier in the video he talked about what the US Agent would go through, named his true name, and even stated how it would be in connection to Bucky's own journey. We also see that the Flagsmasher group had a strong person who was able to perform feats of strength similar to that of Captain America. Sam even drops a hint that they might be Super Soldiers. Also, with the financial ordeal....they spent a bit of time explaining that the world is not how it was 5 years ago. The bank guy even says that the entire financial market has completely changed. Sam is operating under the old system while both his sister and the bank guy are trying to tell him that doesn't work anymore. Maybe it's just me, but they seem to want the series to sit down and explain in detail what's going on....only so they can then complain that's boring and they don't care.

I actually really liked how the new captain America reveal reminded me of The Boys, it’s like the corporate side picking a new hero just to boost morale, we see in the trailer he runs onto the football field, so chances are he’s just an actor

How was the financial bit poorly executed? They literally adressed everything you mentioned, how heroes get income (it was mostly a goodwill's work), the guy talked about the fact that Sam had no income for 5 years, they then addressed the blip, Sam mentioned his contract with the military and said that those should be proof of earning enough but the banker said it was not enough because half the population of earth! came back and they are asking for loans or their money back of course, so the economy has to be a big mess. And how is Tony stark an asshole? He is DEAD! They brought the people back during the fight with Thanos and he died right there in that fight! When was he going to help Flacon financially? During the 5 years that he didn't exist and that he thought that was a fact? or before that? When Falcon went rogue alongside Captain America by fighting Tony and rejecting the Sokovian Accords?

Imagine taking points from something because it takes time to establish character, world-building, introduce internal conflict and drama, and deal with issues without punching or explosions. This is how you know these guys aren't like true appreciators of good film.

Really solid start for Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The contrast of what Sam and Bucky and going through are really nicely directed. They are both having to deal with the repercussions of the snap along with going back to a time with no big threats in their own emotional and personal ways. Really solid start and excited for next week.

Falcon and Winter Soldier: IRS crisis. On a serious note, I like how they deal with budget issues because most of that problem kept getting swept under the rug because Tony Stark is rich throughout the series.

Idk if Joe will see this but the reason why falcon couldnt go over the border is because Sokovian accords is still exist even after blip so they are prohibited work in other countries without givin clearance from other contry goverment

I don't really get the impression that Falcon is wanting to be his "own man" so much as he feels like he isn't up to the task of taking on the Captain America mantle, basically what he says to Rhodie.

People really don't get the concept of multiple episodes.

I don’t mind the “everyday” kind of series. Like snyders justice league was banging because you get to see more into that world and just not fights every 15 seconds. I like the “mundane” of these worlds.

I disagree with AJ! Falcon wasn't softly kicking ass during his action scene, he was kicking better than he was before. His fighting skills got better and looks like he came up with some better techniques. It was Batroc (GSP), is where he had trouble with because he's more stronger, aggressive and more skilled than Sam. But nah, Falcon was kicking ass and he brought his A Game!

This must be an early release or something cuz I just checked Disney+ and that shit is definitely not out yet

i love how they grounded the start of the show to get people back down to earth after all the magic and spells and bending and twisting of reality from wanda vision, where its all very out of this world and all that shit. its good to sorta just relax after all that and take abit of a break and really get the the mcu back to a more realistic point of view.

This was a good episode. Can't wait to see Zemo again. Hopefully do him justice. He is one of my favourite comic book villain and I believe not enough was shown of him in Civil War

Putting up real life problems in the mcu make us feel more connected to the characters actually. They too have to deal with those issues like we do everyday. So this is a good fact actually.

“Tiny little action scene at the beginning”? Dude that was X Wing Trench levels of high octane action that had a nice run time

When Bucky said: "The only time I ever felt a bit od piece... Was in Wakanda." I Felt that. Dude has been a mind controlled assassin for like 70yrs, back & forth on ice, had the government and half the avengers trying to stop him, Black Panther trying to kill him, then met extraterrestrials for the first time in IW, turned to dust, resurrected only to square up in Another galactic battle for the Universe straight away, then watched his Only friend left really and the only one who can understand his turmoil, Steve, leave for a happy life in the past... I'd probably sleep on the hard floor of my apartment and air Sam's calls too. Gotta say though, It's gonna be awesome and heartwarming when he finally contacts Sam and tells the old man he killed his Son for being in the wrong place at the wrong time 😢

Uhh, so Sam (a regular ass human that just has carbon fiber wings which allow him to fly) should've not get his ass kicked by literally getting swarmed by 4-5 people at the same time, one of which gave Captain America a good fight in Captain America: The Winter Soldier? (That French main enemy). Come on, Joe. I get that we love to see our heroes perform well but Sam is just a man, he doesn't have any supersoldier serum, unlike Bucky and Cap. He did extremely well considering.

It was AWESOME; 10/10! You can tell this was supposed to be a full on Marvel film. The opening action scene is one of the best scenes in a Marvel film ever!

In the beginning Falcon was using light tactics at first only to contain the sitution(especially as there was a hostage involved) He elevates only as the situation calls for it. That's usually as most tactical squads operate.

It feels more of a different pace then WandaVision. Plus i feel that fans were so focused on WandaVision and Loki with their theories that their bar is low for Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as it should :) this did not disappoint

I'm pretty sure that Sam wanted to complete the mission without needing to use lethal force. Unfortunately, he let his guard down, and he was in jeopardy of failing to complete the mission. Lethal Force became a necessity instead of a choice. I feel that's a bit more realistic than just having people either straight up murder others, or avoid killing outright.

I think that the “New Captain America” is only a replacement figure to give people hope and not used to fight.

Falcon is a normal human. Of course he can't go in and easily beat up people.

You left out the part where the bad guy of the red hand gang, flag smashers was that really it?, does have some kind of super strength power. That could kind of be important.

Also, the bank scene was to set up a little of the racial differences that the show is going to explore. His sister even mentions that how the rules seems to "tighten up" when it comes to people like them. I actually enjoyed that scene immensely, because it is realistic.

With Chadwick Boseman's passing, I can see Bucky going back to Wakanda to become the White Wolf to support Shuri in her journey to become the next Black Panther. After all, he said, "I love this place."

Not only is the actor one of the most famous, and respected mma fighters of all time, George St. Pierre, but his character is also Batroc the Leaper, a marvel villain that showed up already in the Winter Soldier and gave a pretty good fight to Captain America.

GSP is Batroc the Leaper. He uses tech to jump or leap really high in combat in the animated shows and comics. When he fought in "captain America winter soldier" he had some "jumping fight moves" and did a lot of "leaping" out of moving helicopters in the fight against The Falcon lol. Hopefully he gets more jumping, leaping, tricking kicks in future fight scenes.

It won’t be a surprise that Cap’s new friend and old friend are bound to be the unlikeliest of friends. Sam does what he can to save the world while struggling to keep his family’s business afloat (both figuratively and literally). Meanwhile, Bucky, exhausted by decades of fighting others battles, struggles to readjust to civilian life while attempting to make amends with all the people he’s to helped or hurt over the years

This episode was AMAZING! I loved Wandavision and that was probably my least favorite upcoming show. This and Loki I expect to just be next level amazing fun! Learning about the personal lives of Bucky and Falcon is incredible! They are just like us. They struggle paying bills. They ARE human. They have emotions...depression.... regret. They are REAL!

John Walker is referred to as Captain America throughout his run with the shield. At one point he is referred to in dialogue as "a US Agent" but that's it. He's not a full on villain, he genuinely wants what's best for the country but he follows orders to a fault and has crippling PTSD. Race is a HEAVY theme in the show. Sam isn't allowed the shield because of the Sokovia Accords, but the real reason is because he is black. When Walker goes off the reservation and beats Eli Bradley in front of cameras, the government tries to give Sam the shield for good PR. This almost leads Sam to forsaking the government entirely but Rhodey brings him back. Show doesn't really set Rhodey up for Armor Wars at all. Bucky's arc is atonement and becoming a human again in the small ways he can. Sharon helps him with this immensely. The 5 years after the snap are explored heavily, as is the impact of coming back to a changed world. Omega Red and Batroc the Leaper are indeed in the show. They are the villains of episode 3, which is the Madripoor episode. Omega Red is pretty nerfed for the MCU but there's a canon reason. The word "mutant" is never said. Songbird does NOT appear. Neither do the Inhumans in any capacity. There's also no tie in to Black Widow, at least not one that I noticed." Edit: the OP continues in the comments "Zemo's plan is to rid the world of superheros. He escaped and inspired people like Flagsmasher during the snap. He uses the events of WandaVision, John Walker's downfall, and the public uncertainty regarding the snap to radicalize an army. Zemo revealed to be the villian Episode 2: John Walker is sent after Zemo. Sam and Bucky continue to butt heads. The three of them have a fight and Zemo gets away. They come back together and catch Zemo Episode 3. Captured Zemo leads them to Madripoor, they shake Walker in the streets. Batroc and Omega Red attack them in a bar. Zemo escapes on a speedboat, makes a public broadcast Episode 4: Zemo followers rise up in the streets which leads to vigilantism. Patriot is the main focus. Him and Walker take on a gang together, but he intervenes to stop Walker from killing them and Walker brutalizes him. This was Zemo's plan. Sam meets with Rhodey to discuss being a black superhero Episode 5. Sam still refuses to accept the shield. Everyone gets a turn with it, including Sharon as they finish off the Flashsmasher gang. Walker tries to make amends Episode 6. Sam accepts the role as Captain America. Him, Bucky, Sharon, Walker and Patriot suit up together and take on Zemo in his Alaskan shipping boat base where he plans to launch his bioweapon from."

Redwing is such a beast as an AI drone, he missiles the first plane, shoots up the side of the second, then after falcon does his grappling thing he lasers off the rotor of the second. So technically Redwing got those kills.

In the comic's there was an interesting storyline where Bucky briefly took on the mantle of Captain America, but Zemo revealed to the his past as the Winter Soldier to the world. It was less a matter of revenge, and more Zemo challenging Bucky to earn redemption without whitewashing his past

That’s not how banks work. They have under writers who approve loans. During strict times it is very tough to get approved. Would clout help? Maybe. But saying no is fully believable when you’re in the actual business.

Too bad no one said ANYTHING about Rhodes/War Machine talking to Sam...to me, this was a little hint to a potential conflict with one of the characters.
