The fundamental flaw with this is that it doesn’t get that the original theme song is about a guy who isn’t the hero and doesn’t get the girl, he just does the dangerous parts whilst the hero actor takes the credit. E.g. “A morning drive with Jackie Smith, a crash in the night with Cheryl, but in the end they never stay with me” And clever lines like “They’ll never make me President, but I got the best First Ladies, some days I got ‘em as far as the eye can see” - he’s a stuntman, not famous enough to be the star, and his hope is that enough of his stunt gets left in the film so that you can see his face before they cut to the actor. Shelton has turned it into a love song, which is fine but it’s not what the original was meant to be.

It is too bad nobody would know who all the original stars were. He made Eastwood look so fine.

I think the updated version fit the movie perfectly especially "'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman who'd die to have your heart."

Just saw the movie and have great memories of watching the show as a kid in the 80s. This version of the song is pretty good, not as good as the original. The movie was great, so much fun to watch.

They should of stick with the Lee Majors version but update the stars.

Well…. After seeing this movie (which I can tell is awesome!!!) and hear this song!!! I am not shame to say it… I cried like a baby, quite simply because the memories of the series. I had 7 years old when I saw Lee Majors’s Fall Guy for the first time and it blew my mind. And now in 2024 they remake it and it worked. Hear the song even is a higher pitching song kinda remind me that nostalgia of the show. Now, I saw all the comments so far, and yeah there’s positive comments and negatives comments and in the negativity I couldn’t agree more, because Lee Majors theme was a LOT better, but in the end folks, this is a remake, and this movie shows us that even when they’re good shows forgotten, somehow they’re not forgotten at all. Now, Starsky and Hutch was remade, Dukes of Hazzard was remade, Miami Vice was remade, The A Team was remade and now The Fall Guy…. We need Knight Rider to be the next one… please…. Make my childhood in the theater once again.

This is how Lee Majors was meant to sing it. Majors rewrote with his own lyrics for the TV series. True Story.

The theme song was one of the best parts of the series. When I saw the previews for the movie, I was surprised to hear Bon Jovi. Now I know why. The updated lyrics are very amateur sounding. I can’t believe Blake Shelton went along with it. Maybe he just wanted the money.

I get it, new lyrics were needed because the film plot wasn't the same as the TV-show's premise... HOWEVER... (_spoiler alert_) You already have Lee Majors in a cameo role! As long as he's there anyway, why not have him sing all of his original lyrics, with an updated instrumental background, & then finish the song with these updated lyrics? It would fit perfectly with the arc of the film's plot. The TV-show's lyrics pretty much describe what Gosling's character is SAYING about himself through most of the film, while the new lyrics describe what he's DOING, to fight for his lady's love.

I hate this so much. As someone who has the Lee Majors original burned in their brain, I can't believe someone signed off on this version. It could have been so good updated with current actors names.

The old version is great but the old version would sound dated to the younger generation. Blake has a great voice, so I guess I can't be too upset with it.

This isn't The Unknown Stuntman. This is a parody. It wouldn't have taken much to change the movie stars names. While I usually love Blake Shelton, this is nowhere near good enough for someone as talented as he is.

This has NONE of the original's swagger. Lee's voice in the original was deep, strong, sexy, and dare I say MANLY enough to not need instrumental support - it's nearly done a cappella. In addition to the sound becoming less macho, they also changed any lyrics that suggested male chauvinism. I have nothing against Shelton and consider myself a feminist, but the [albeit self-effacing] machismo of the original is what made it so good. This cover is not in the tone or spirit of Majors' version, and would probably stand up well on its own terms if so many of us literally didn't know any better.

I really like this new version of the theme tune even if it’s now a bit woke.I think will be probably play with the end credits with clips of the outtakes from the movie playing over the song so we only get snippets of the song. Not sure why when Hollywood turn 1980’s tv shows in modern movies they do this when the TV show has the theme tune at the beginning of the film.

As a man who watched the original series in the 80's I'm willing to watch this movie and give it a shot but this theme song sucks! Nothing wrong with Blake Shelton. He's a good singer. It's the lyrics! Use the same lyrics just change and update the names. Instead of Farrah use Scarlett.

Pitched it up and took out the 2nd chorus at the end. I can get removing the actors names, but I’m not into it.

I've only seen previews and I grew up with the original and it's still a classic and I don't see this being much and this version isn't bad but like the movie it didn't need to be remade!!

This song sounds "far too bright," like a self-congratulatory song. Lee Majors sang it as more like "The Stuntman's Blues," which fitted the small screen. This is not at all like "Rich Men North of Richmond," but I'm a Bluegrass fan, to be honest.

To be fair this is a fine remake. At least the DNA of the song is still there. There is online the full version of the original song which was cut down to a minute for the series so length wise this is more like the original. At least they didn’t butcher it. I always remember the Miami Vice remake. No Jan Hammer theme and they destroyed In The Air Tonight. At least this is similar! 😂😊

To those saying they should've updated the actor names, that would've dated the song just like the original is dated now for anyone under 30. My only complaint is repeating the same chorus instead using things like "Tarzan from a vine"

Absolutely loved the show as a kid..but understand why they changed the lyrics, most people under 30 would probably have no idea who any of the people referenced in the song are..so I'll probably watch this at some point.
