I remember playing apoc a lot back then,sad to see this game dead

This game will always have a special place in my heart, I met some of my closest online friends on this game that I still hang out with and talk to this day. I've likely put in at least a good thousand hours into this game over the several years I've played it with my buddies since it began. It's so sad to see what it has become and how it went from being the king of ROBLOX to being just a relic of the past.

The death soundtrack of this game will always bring me dark flashbacks

I literally had a squad of random friends I made in this game. Now they dont even play roblox anymore. Stupid hackers killed the game....

it makes me sad to watch this video but this could've all been avoided if gus put more focus into fixing ar1 then trying to make ar2. AR2 is a shell of what AR1 was entirely. AR2 is still in alpha many years later and is a very ok/good game. All the former apoc mods gave up on the community that thrived around 2015-2018 but died because of the approach Gus was taking. I miss talking to my old friends in DPI but that is now just a memory gone by.

I replaced this game with unturned when hackers started to take over. Spending 3 hours looting,pvping,then dying felt like a hassle and a waste of time.

I got banned from apoc for “exploiting” because someone teleported me into a hacked car.

I had a group on Amend on Xbox, 2018-2020 named Apocalypse Rising Scavengers, ARS for short, our family grew to 50 members active quite frequently and even destroyed 3 clans from the map. Good times

Damn I remember that good old days of this game. Basing in Kin and hoarding cars.

Almost 4 years later, still an alpha. Nothing much has changed since its release back in 2017. I hate to say it, but Apoc 2 is a pretty disappointing title overall.

To summarize what happened to Apoc, hackers hacked, developers patched the hack and then hackers found a new hack. This was a cycle that went on and has been going on for years to the point where it would take weeks just to patch a single hack.

Conquerers Mark even had this problem. Exploits are Roblox's problem more than the game developers. I fight through the exploits everyday and still find enjoyment in Apoc Rising. The thrill of going back to reloot for the best gear you can muster always made my day more interesting because there would always be that one player who you'd encounter and they'd be different than the last.

AR was on front page until JailBreak came out.

I remember the good ol' days, I was a regular, everyday, I entered JUST to play it, never was good at it XD, but it was fun, making friends and clans, but unfortunately, I saw it rise and fall

A quick repeat of a key detail, you lose *everything* when you die in AR. The fact that people could thanos snap hours if not days and weeks of progress with nothing the victims could do about it could leave anyone in shackles.

I don't care if it is dead or no. I played it before 4 years, and I'm still playing. If there are hackers in servers, I just look for normal server and keep playing. The bad thing is that Gus removed radio with good 80 - 90s songs. AR was, is and always will be the legend game.

Talking about Apocalypse rising, ZolarKeth and Gusmanak was featured in a Lumber Tycoon 2 quest where you get items from various shops and bring them to the secret underground place. There are three people sitting on the table waiting for their meal, those people are Gusmanak, ZolarKeth and Rukiryo. Zolarketh eats Can of Worms, Gusmanak eats light bulbs, Rukiryo eats sand. Give them their food and you will receive the Rukiry Axe. On halloween you will get Endtimes Axe instead.

I could binge watch these all day! Please make more on other roblox games!

a good way to stop hackers and exploiters from messing up a game is to add a fee to play, it would definitely make the player count lower but if a hacker wanted to hack they would have to spend irl dollars to get in it just to be banned soon after

It can be tricky but, Someone should make a grp for the OG Apocalypse Rising where hackers joined there and talk about things. Give anyone who has hacks admin, then leave the grp so you won’t get involved. In a way Roblox would read any hacker’s info in the first apocalypse rising and know what grp they were hanging then all hackers who are in the grp are banned.

I remember the first time I had played the game, when all the systems were still working, and it had a nice player base, I had joined onto a random server not expecting anything fun, when I spawned in dirk in fact, I had been killed almost immediately, but that didn't deter me, I followed the roads randomly and after a few hours of walking from place to place, I had finally made it back to dirk, I built a wall around dirk, grabbed a sports car and a tractor and threw it into the fire station's garage, then a few players had walked around and commented on the town, so I responded, me being a young child, let them in, but instead of me dying, I had made some of my best friends I've ever had, I would spend hours playing, and I thought it was the most immersive game, ever, I remember when I had finally got myself geared up for the first time, I got into my armored ural and drove to outpost, when I started to leave, another group of 4 drove in with their humvee and we had a shootout, I had ended up surviving, was my first firefight, and I had won. I loved this game and the experiences I had gotten from it, especially making bases at mansion, but my heart goes out to gus, he got shat on even though he was probably trying his best. RIP to apoc 1, if anyone wants to join me in apoc 1 to play some, my username is lilsooner04, friend me and I'll get back to you.

I remember playing this after school with my friends and group, we used to help noobs and snipe some clueless people. One time everyone on the server decided to Allie together to make a shop and trade gear for gear at the military base, we sold cars guns and medkits. I miss those days. I miss apoc.

I literally met my best friend on this game like 5 years ago. We were just playing and i asked him if he has discord and if he wants to team up, so we called up on discord and started playing daily. I found out that he lives in the same COUNTRY as me aswell! But sadly in a town thats like 700km away from me :(. We are still very good friends to this day and i will never forget this game because it was literally my childhood and it will always have a special place in my heart

I've had so many good memories of Apocalypse Rising in 2014 - 2016. Every time I play it brings back so many good memories, but there are too many exploiters and people that kill on sight, that it's just not enjoyable anymore. Rest in Peace, AR. :(

I grew up with apoc, and have played it for several years. Since around 2013-2014. It was such a fun game, its sad to see it get ruined by hackers.

When i first heard of Roblox i saw Apocalypse Rising, joined it and had a great time, around 2012, mind you i was 12, met a kid that i still currently talk too, ended up being a brother to me, time flies, ended up having a kid, a fiance, and still managed to keep in touch with the guys i would always squad up with, Apocalypse Rising was at its peak in 2012-2014 but sadly most people wont know about it

This is a really dang good video about AR’s history. Coming from someone that played AR for years, this accurately describes the rise and fall of AR really well. One thing i kinda wished you touched on was the overall toxicity of the AR community ingame and the various groups and squads that popped up during its history.
