@@KingAbzTV Yeah, their designs and personalities rock. I also love their teeth-clench teamwork, they're both loyal to Myrrah and their people but they're complete opposites and hate each other because of it.
I always found it interesting how in depth they made Sraak's mentality in the comics. He had a massive ego because of his stature and seniority over the rest of the locust which eventually came back to bite him. It is also interesting how if you look into the comics, he doesn't show any inkling of care towards the trinity of worms and I personally believe that if he did have his way and the horde stayed in the hollow, he would eventually just flee in the last moments of the lambent assaults with a unit of guards just based off his personality and mentality.
Yeah I don't even consider this new "gears" trilogy canon, and as far as I'm concerned they won the war and lived happily ever after. That said I still want gears games so, they should make prequels even let us take the role of raam and skorge against the horde.
@@Elnegro.. I'd love a game about the pendulum wars, but i think a game about the locust-lambent war before E-Day would be cooler. Locusts have a lot more personality than is shown in the games, so having a game centered around them would be awesome
@@marranin007 Why not both? I want the story of the pendulum wars and the lambent grub war. Imagine having RAAM fleshed out, and we get to see his bound with his brothers. Imagine seeing the Pendulum wars from both sides, seeing the extent and dirtiness of both factions. More importantly I would love to see more Cog vs Locast prequels, there are over 14 years of war to explore from a regular cogs perspective, or another elite squad in the shadows or something. Would give us a greater appreciation for the characters and overall story, and no matter what it's pretty much guaranteed to be better than the new shit trilogy.
Sraak's death was an unfortunate waste. He had every opportunity to be a good leader. His incompetence as a general was primarily due to his lack of effort as his lieutenants gave him reports and awaited strategy but instead he completely ignored them. That's like you are playing team death match and you ask for your teammate to cover you but he doesn't even pick up his controller instead he just tells you to try harder and if you fail it's your fault.
Don't see many RU-vidrs that make gears content now on days, even fewer on lore so is nice to someone making these sort of vids. Keep up the good work!
@@KingAbzTV I've watch some of your vids including this one and the Dom one, I'm definitely enjoying these. Especially since my knowledge on Gears's Lore/Universe only comes from the first three games and 4&5, so learning more about some of these characters and other things is nice and you do a great job at these!
i would love to play as the Locust story in the game to see their pov and the only main character to play as is Raam and have player 2 as Skorge that would be awesome to see but i wonder what future games of Gears Of War comes next.
this was a really enjoyable and awesome watch! every gears lore vid you do makes me have a bigger appreciation for the series and now wanting to buy all the comics
god with all this lore why isn't there a television series made yet? God it could be animated or live action at this point. Besides that another awesome lore video man keep up the amazing work.
This is why Raam is the greatest Locust warrior and general because he hade what it needs to be a leader. He's a strategist, He knows when a battle is won and lost, he shows courage and loyalty to his people and to his queen, hell he even knew Sraak would ambush him and set up a trap. Above else General Raam is my Locust because he's fearless and ruthless when it comes to being a Locust.
I always wonder if negotiations ever took place or could’ve taken place between locust and humans to ally themselves (even if only temporarily) to defeat the lambent.
I believe Adam Fenix had contacts with the Locust and a deal was made that they wouldn't emerge and attack Humanity in exchange Fenix would help solve the Lambent problem. Fenix however prioritized the hammer of dawn over this agreement and by the end of the pendulum wars the Locust were out of time and had to attack or face certain death to the Lambent. Fenix did eventually build the machine and use it to destroy both lambent and locust at the end of Gears 3 but not completely as seen in 4 and 5. I don't know about comic books and all but that's what I got from the games.
Adam knew of the locusts about 4-5 years before E-Day. He was very much involved with developing the hammer of dawn but knew that with genetic makeup of all locusts was imulsion. He couldn't find a way of destroying the lambent without also killing all the locusts. Queen Myrrah knew from the beginning that humans and locusts could never coexist, being that they fought for nearly 100 years over imulsion. Experimentend on their own kind, tried to weaponize miners who suffered from rust lung, and created the locusts.
After reading all of that, it still bothered me that Raam was able to outsmart General Sraak but can’t do it against two avenge humans (Marcus and Dom) on the training due to plot reason. Anyway, keep it up, Woo!
I guess we can find some logic when we consider that both Marcus and Dom were not only veterans of the Locust War, but of the Pendulum Wars as well. Making them extremely deadly foes of RAAM.
@@littlebadassgaming cole was using a light to kill the kryll. This is what allowed marcus and dom to get past his defenses. Edit: if you watch the cutscene you can see this
Imagine if you started the franchise in the eyes of the locust first before the cog. It’d probably show their perspective as heroes and survivors rather than villains considering the locusts origins
Love your videos ! You should do a top 10 strongest gears character list and explain why then maybe your top 10 strongest locust characters would be cool
So how did the locust have the numbers to effectively fight against the COG and the rest of humanity who been endlessly waging war against each other for over a thousand and something years with seer numbers so vast that nuking their own cities was a last ditch stop gap measure to stop the literal tide of locust emerging underground. They had enough numbers to do this while simultaneously waging a war and losing a war against the lambent who outnumbers the locust nearly 10 to 1 all of which were former locust who got infected. All of which stems from their queen and her original group similarly to how Adam and Eve did for humanity eons ago but in the span of a century. And in that century they leaned how to build city/towns, farm, raise livestock, tame wild/mutated beast, govern said city/towns, create a religion on worms, create a language, learn military tactics/structure/logistical supply, build guns/blades/armor and how to do all of that effectively in between breeding sessions to be able to have the manpower to actually get shit done on that scale. all the while hiding from any and all humans, forsaking their ways, teachings, knowledge and technology. All starting from 50 or so lab experiment escapes with half being enraging females that want to murder everything and have to be tied down to make kids. In 70ish years on top of that before they warred against the lambent and the humans.
I’ve always wondered how did the locust have enough troops to almost completely take over the surface while holding back the lambent at the same time it doesn’t make much sense to me
I don't know if it's out there anywhere I tried looking . But I've always wondered what the life expectancy of a locust would be . I wanna ask you abz , what do you think the expectancy of a normal drone in perfect quality of life would be as well as what you think the average expectancy of the horde as a whole would be . The ones who have watched your horde lore videos I'm sure we agree the expectancy could be heavily varied 😂
Dead space remake drops in January, The Callisto protocol drops in December. Until then I’ll be doing my Gears lore videos alongside other lore stuff I think of.
It's likely the two factions are simply acting more in opposition to humanity than working together with one another. They both just want humans to die atm and don't care about each other.
If the Locust had spent more time and effort fighting the Lambent, instead of each other, they would not need to leave the Hollow to invade the surface.
What is the thing you tend to say at the beginning or end of every video? I've been trying to figure it out but can't for the life of me make it out :c
There's alot more stories they can tell with general RAAM because let's not forget the fact that this took place a few years before the locust human war began and RAAM died 10 years into the locust human war so there could be dozens of more stories they can fit in in between those events. I don't just wanna see raams rise and death because I already know that I wanna see the atrocities he inflicted on humanity during the war. we only know 2 people that have been killed by RAAM, Alecia Valera and Minh young Kim. There could be countless other stories told through COG perspective where they faced general RAAM and lived to tell the tale, oooh that would be epic.
The fact that there is a non-Berserker locust who is so massive he can chokeslam RAAM's 9-foot ass like a punk is genuinely scary. I kind of wish they hadn't made him such a bad leader character. If he had been some kind of freakish frontline commander just like RAAM, then SRAAK would have been an incredible enemy to actually fight in-game (I know there's a multiplayer skin for him, but he isn't 12 feet tall, so shut up).
Ok so I don't get it, so like in the comic are they speaking locust and this is just all being translated? Or can they speak fluent seran? Cause if they can it's so weird trying to imagine RAAM and Skorge cursing and joking with eachother in their voices from the games lol
My first gears was the first it was installed in a JTAG Xbox 360 I bought with my savings I get by working in vacations back in 2019 it take sometime and the sniper was my saviour in those high difficulty playthroughs but since I have seen that they are reducing the difficulty of gears of war games since the gears 2
