The decline and fall of the emirate of Granada in AlAndalus can be divided into 2 phases
1. the early 1400’s
2. The late 1400’s
Both these periods in the history of Al-Andalus have distinctive features. While the Nasrid dynasty was going through turmoil during these periods there were significant changes occurring in the Catholic States in the North of the Iberia Peninsula. These changes were to lead to a union that would forever be remembered as the beginning of the modern nation state of Spain. To find out about the Nasrid decline and the developments in the Catholic provinces, watch the whole video and subscribe to the channel and press the bell button for notifications of the remaining episodes in the series.

Very well done the comparisons to Byzantium and Granada are startling both fell because of constant infighting rather than unite on a common enemy.

Wallahi whenever Muslim left Islam behind their back and pursue worldly materials no matter the height of glory they attained Allah Ta'ala would surely replace their superiority with inheritority, their peace with fear, their wealth with poverty, their calmness with chaos and confusion, their unity with disintegration. No amount of material possessions would restore them back until and unless they return and hold fast to the rope of Allah Ta'ala. May Allah have mercy on us and all the Umman Amee.

@@TareekhTrekker Yes, I know the story. But you always tell many details and particular interpretations I never heard. What I also like is the way you resume the story line, it's quite complicated. But I also know some anecdotes told from the Christians side, from my origines, because I am converted Muslim.

Not forgetting of course that the Moors from North Africa had, in 711, invaded the iberian peninsula and occupied it for many centuries. The Spanish in late 1400's TOOK THEIR LAND BACK .!
@TareekhTrekker
@TareekhTrekker Год назад
The celts invaded The vandals invaded The romans invaded The moors invaded All brought new religions, new cultures, new languages I will leave it to you to decide why 1 particular people with 1 particular religion were thrown out as oppose to others, bearing in mind they were all “foreign” to the Iberian peninsula Oh by the way - the “moors” who were thrown out - they weren’t moors - most were people of a local ethnicity - their only crime - they had converted to Islam in the preceding centuries. They looked very European indeed but the Catholic Spanish Inquisition couldn’t tolerate that In 800 years there was no such thing as the Moorish Inquisition, hmmmmm !!!!!!!!!

20:50 bu abdeel was terrible. Isabella & Ferdinand for which I could understand were still not fully confident of each other's kingdoms' new relationship and future worked their way with extreme cautious. Bu abdeel's plan was good for the looting game but he seemed to be brainwashed after his capture or he was probably the worst coward Alandulus ever had. By the way it seems like my country has been having similar dilemas these days.

I don't really see the point of this Imperialistic nostalgia in parts of the Western Muslim diaspora. The Muslims were just another set of rulers in parts of Europe. No better or worse than their Christian contemporaries. To everything there is a beginning, middle and an end in this Dunya. This sort of historical revisionism can only create rifts between European Muslim diaspora communities with the Western countries we live in. I'm sure that most Spanish people supported the Reconquista, which they saw as liberating their lands, much like the Palestinians are trying to do today. We Muslims need to look forward to contribute to politically, economically and religiously to our European homelands. Find belonging in our achievements. I'm proud that for instance, British Muslims are amongst the most generous in charity and that the first 4 NHS Doctors to die doing their duty during the Covid Pandemic were Muslims. These things bring us together rather than celebrating conquests and submissions from hundreds of years ago.
@TareekhTrekker
@TareekhTrekker Год назад
It celebrating conquests and submissions But celebrate the formation of a society that was unique, tolerant and far ahead of its times and kick started the renaissance in Europe - yet Europe it self doesn’t tell this story - it was hidden for 4-500 years - only recently it has come out

How sad that you take honour in Muslims living under the laws of kufr and dieing for other than Islam and the believers. Yet you don't find honour in that which the Muslims please Allah by spreading Tawheed, eradicating shirk and implementing the sharia on the Earth for hundreds of years in Andalus. Islam and Muslims are not imperialists the sahaba conquered in order to spread tawheed and stop shirk to bring justice and stop corruption to remove the people from darkness and being them to the light through which they could please Allah and gain paradise unlike these disbelieving colonial empires that came to spread secularism and gain wealth. Learn your religion especially the seerah.

I agree - but also when a state is in a position of weakness - a lot of their internal issues are highly influenced by greater stronger states that surround them. When all is in your favour it’s easy to be pious and righteous- the real test is when you backs are up against the wall, and if I’m being honest I think most human beings fail in these situations- only the real great ones show themselves in these time periods and they are few and far between
