I love that Mike Flanagan always likes to use the same actors from his previous shows. It really pushes the actors' acting range and it is so fun watching them act differently than their previous characters.

I've loved horror for a long time but Flanagan introduced my favorite version of it; horror with a heart. It made me realise how any horror is overcome by being made meaningful , and when done so, has the capacity to heal the most damaged parts of ourselves. Monsters are not just monsters, they're mirrors, teachers and, in their own twisted right, healers. No one does a better job of showing us how than Flanagan

This show should be rated 10/10. The amount of symbology used in this series is insane. We could appreciate not only the most recurrent topics used by Poe in his novels such as death, opioids or misfortune, but also nods to stories that were not so explicitly represented, such as Berenice (Morelle), MS found in a bottle (Pym) or Cask of Amontillado (Griswold), for example. I’d say that the story that best represents this whole series, however, is William Wilson, showing that you are your own enemy and that every action has a consequence. “I have lost. Yet from now on you are also dead - dead to the World, dead to Heaven, dead to Hope! In me you lived - and in my death - see by this face, which is your own, how wholly, how completely, you have killed - yourself!” Props to Flanagan for creating such a brilliant show 🙌🏽

This was fabulous - to hear Poe's words read aloud after not hearing reading or hearing them for years since my childhood, brought back the memories of the fear of having seen the very first black and white film. The whole cast was wonderful and am glad Bruce was the replacement. This was filmed here in Vancouver - I go that the cathedral - this series was f filmed there. So many morals, ideas, brought anew with big Pharma and greed and the lost souls thinking of themselves as God and Queen in order to change the world. Just like mad scientists trying to build a man from many different parts. It was crunching in its scares not overdone, but each role was as good and enticing as the next one. The level of cruelty was impactful and to see at the end all of those bodies falling from the dark rainy sky made my soul shiver! I love how Flanagan single-handedly created some sort of Flanagan-verse. A movie world within movie world, and its got everything to do with him casting more or less the same group of actors. It creates some sort of familiarity and intimacy, like the one you might have with your favourite city theatre company. And I must say that Mark Hamill is a brilliant addition, I hope you stickes around.

Cannot wait! Love his shows. The dialogue in them is what I find the most impressive/interesting/emotional. The scene he had Stephen King read before creating Dr. Sleep, for example, and the monologues in Hill House in the last episodes. He should write a book! Midnight Mass moved me in an indescribably deep way, and it wasn't based on a book, obviously. It's cool he has actors that work with him in different projects, too.
