This just went to show how weak the New Republic truly was, they ignored the warnings of Thrawn’s return, Shunned Luke Skywalker out of the picture after the war, and allowed numerous Imperial remnants become a force to be reckoned with.
Sadly all this is because of bad writing. Ashoka was such a bad writen show in terms of the new republic, they wasnt arogant, there were unnautral arogant, to a point where it doesent make sense. Its to much forced.
@@dwaugh2215 nope, they were literally on the same path, and only because of the Main Characters (Luke, Leia, Han, Rouge Squadron, and the like) did the New Republic survive for another day. The New Republic caused just as many problems as the Imperial Remnant or the Vong in Legends.
Your storytelling is unmatched! I'm at a lost of words on how beautiful this is. I also like the effect you did when you showed the flashbacks of the clone wars.
The Andor font addition. Bail’s voiceover from the prequels about not letting democracy die. The sync of the beats with the hyperspace travel exit of the ships. ‘The more you tighten your grip, many of the star systems will slip from your fingers’ showing Vader watching the Tantive IV getting away. The showcase of the people more than just Luke Skywalker’s actions. Luthen’s monologue about no inner peace showing Leia and sunless spaces showing Mon. And the complete red that engulfs everyone at the end. Masterpiece.
This was truly a masterpiece. You managed to capture the very essence of Star Wars, not flashy jedi or sith not galactic wars but the most important battle, the battle for freedom and the battle against oppression. This is exactly what makes Star Wars bigger than any other franchise, the political undertone of every action that happens. Bravos to you my friend for creating this. May the force be with you.
It's amazing how pivotal Andor has been in redefining the entirety of Star Wars. It really has shifted the entire understanding of the series, and returned it to it's roots.
Yep, thanks to the sequels, everything that the Skywalkers did failed. Remember that as you watch the celebration at the end of ROTJ. The sequels have ruined it.
Andor is the dark reflection that makes the Star Wars universe interesting, and in the same effort damns it as shallow, trite, simplistic and juvenile in the way it has been produced. Andor is Star Wars with grit. The John Le’Carre to Iain Fleming. A major achievement.
Yet another masterpiece delivered by you man! The wait was definitely worth it. Loved how you managed to nicely present and combine each of the story lines showcasing such a beautiful and tragic story of Rebel Heroes and the failure of the New Republic trying so hard not to make mistakes of the past Republic, which eventually they did... Would love to see updated version of this in the few years when we fully explore this timeline. Keep up amazing work!
I never saw them as trying to not repeat the same mistakes. They wanted to restore a Republic that failed in the first place. Sure, it could be argued that Palpatine is the reason but he merely took advantage of all the corruption and failure that already existed. He sped along its collapse but it would of likely collapsed eventually if we are being realistic. The Rebellion would of been better off creating a completely new government rather than trying to restore a Republic that failed but considering a lot of their leaders were from the core where the Republic benefited them, I can see why they wanted to restore it.
Well, good news, they lasted longer than Empire did! Although somehow the managed to bring themselves into same rotten state as had old Republic, but this time in span of few decades rather than centuries...
@@Ocelot835 Yeah, I dunno, the New Republic really just put a bandaid on the issues the Old Republic had, never looking at the "Core" (hint hint) of the problem
@@thalmoragent9344 well, that's what you get when you put back in charge former senators whose first major policy was to literally demilitarize themselves WHILE STILL FIGHTING IMPERIAL REMNANTS!
I love how influential Rogue One and Andor have been to painting this realistic, story-rich picture of the Star Wars world. I did not realize just how much those 2 completely revamped the world building, fighting against the garbage that are the Rey films. Throw in some Mando, original Trilogy, some of the politics of the prequels and it just fits so well! Masterfully put together, well done!
I have rewatched Andor a few times, but only during this video did I realized that Kino's speech doesn't only apply to the prison. It can be used in anything with the rebellion. The words still have the effect, if not a greater one.
THIS IS SO UNDERRATED WHAT???????? the way it ties in to literally everything from the clone wars to the last movie is absolutely insane, not to mention the absolutely gorgeous shots of the ships synced up to the music, this is all just too good!!
Wow! This is incredible, one of, if not your best works! The parallels and mirroring between Andor and the collection of scenes from Mando & Ahsoka are just perfect. I love how you split them up into 3 different chapters, remarkable job!!
Perfectly balanced, and perfectly paced. This edit truly shows the width and breadth of the tragedy of the New Republic, its highs and lows, its everything. What a video.
Ah Yes the galactic civil war in legends ended like 15 years after ep 6. Thrawn, Emperor Clone…… and them the new sith, new Jedi purge. Cmon dude Its like history it " repeat "sometimes
@@markussithlord227yea ima say na on that one the civil war lasted until the establishment of the New Republic and the legends is nothing like canon. The new republic is a actually force to be fucked with in legends while the new movies are nothing but nostalgia bait and let’s make rebels again but lame and gay
@@markussithlord227 Yes, history repeats itself, and people refuse to learn. These are great thematic ideas, very powerful, and it's great that the Mandalorian-era stuff is leaning into that. "History repeating itself" can be a bit more complex than reusing the same factions, however. That's what the sequel trilogy did, the Resistance is just the Rebellion 2.0, the First Order is just the Empire 2.0. No introspection on the lasting effect of the Galactic Civil War, no consideration to how those events would have shaped these factions into different versions of their predecessors, nope. Just the same old things again and again. Same designs, same ships, same command structure, same mentality. The New Republic is supposedly a thing and yet we get nothing about it, and the shows have to fill in all the gaps. You could look to George Lucas' plans for his sequel trilogy for ideas on how to "repeat" things right. The Sith would come back, but through Maul and in the form of a criminal empire. The Jedi would come back, but it would be made up of survivors from the old order, and they sure wouldn't be tied to the Republic anymore. The Empire would still be a threat, but it would be legions of fanatical stormtroopers desperately loyal to Palpatine's old regime. The New Republic is here to replace the old one, but they'd have to rebuild, and Leia would be the Supreme Chancellor by the end. Luke and Anakin literally had the same story, they just made different decisions at the end of it. That's how you repeat things, by changing details to add context and make them more meaningful, not by doing, well... whatever the self destructive spiral that we call the Disney sequels was trying to do.
This is a masterpiece. Star Wars has always had a deep hidden message relating to the politics of the day. The Original Trilogy was about the struggle for Vietnam's independance. The Prequels were about how rulers can use war to gain more power (Bush and Iraq). This new era of star wars is a warning. A warning that evil never truly leaves, or in the words of Luke Skywalker "No one's every really gone." We seen in recent star wars content that no matter how evil a government or orgamisation can be, there will always be those who support it and will do whatever is necessary to restore that glory. Everything we see in modern star wars we see around us today, the return of fascism, the decay of democracy, the devaluing of freedom, the ignorance of those in power and worship of tyrants. We should follow the orders of Maarva Andor, we should wake up early and fight these bastards from the start.
"[20] Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" Isaih 5:20
Never ceased to not make star wars an incredible story with your edits. Well done again, but my goodness I'm also glad they are making Thrawn's return a terrifying force to reckon with. I love how you really put both sides in similarities and contrast to each other. Brewing perspectives and giving an overall bigger picture of that entire story, putting all those shows we watched into something incredibly complicated yet simple at the same time.
"If we do not stand together, we will be crushed" Damn you went out of your way to get that line from the Andor s2 teaser camcord leak lmao. Mad respect.
I love every edit you make, and honestly I'd love it if you could make a video about padme, her story is so tragic and with the deleted scenes from aotc and everything from the clone wars we can really see how important she was to the republic and how she was what the new republic really needed
The funniest thing about Andor is how much of a good job it does at recontextualizing all the movie trilogies and auxillary media in a way that makes sense and threads through all the common themes... despite being a complete departure from the franchise in every other way lol.
That part where Hera asked if the Senator was Ever in the war and he says no and the cut to "What do you sacrifice?" and Luthens speech was amazing. Just shows you the comparison between the Vultures who stood on the sidelines until the war was over and the people like Luthen, Andor, Jyn, Saul ect. that gave up their lives for the Greater Good. The Real Heros.
Honestly the best SW montage I have ever seen. The way it is put together is a work of pure art. Even after the 10th time of watching it it still touches my heart. Brilliant.
@@SWFT_edits The most meaningful Star Wars edit ever made. You highlighted on how and why the cause for freedom will never reach it's end. It'll always require rebellion and that's why the New Republic fell, it lacks that need to rebel.
How. How is it better every single time? The lines, the scenes, it's all perfect. Once again, you've outdone yourself and crafted another outstanding edit. Beautiful job!!
Another masterpiece from the master of star wars edit. Exept it's not a masterpiece. It's perfection. You have remind me with strenght why I love star Wars.
OMG, this is exactly what I was looking for. The way of Andor saying "Light it up" and the Death star destroing thats simultaneously amazing and mind-blowing, giving us a lot of goosebumps. Thanks man, SFWT❤
An excellent tribute! Once again you pair the perfect tracks with each of the arcs in this video. I loved the two clips of Mon Mothma glancing at herself at 7:30, both looking ahead and reflecting back. Great work!
Star Wars man.. there’s nothing like it.. no one captures it quite like you do, every single video you make gives me goosebumps and makes me feel a lump in my throat.. 10/10!! 🔥🔥
Such a beautiful tribute to the whole of star wars, combining all dialogue and scenes from all the animated and live films and shows across all time periods: prequels, original and sequels.
You do such amazing work. I love your sound editing so much and I can see how much love and passion you put into your work and it shows. You should be very proud of what you make.
Absolutely unreal how with just a little bit of effort, this account can put out quality videos far better then StarWars could ever put out themselves.
Great work. Andor's superb writing and themes are the hub as usual But you successfully tie-in the best scenes from the other shows to join everything up
I really dont like the sequels, but this edit makes these movies and the shows disney did (some better than others) seem like masterpieces. This edit might be THE best Star wars edit i've ever seen
Wouaaaah !! Once again you did a GREAT work, I was waiting for this for the announce you post in december and I'm not disappointed of your work. Good job🤩
This is wild! Great video! The one thing i can't stop noticing is how much of an impact Andor has had on star wars, it really carries everything. In my opinion andor is the best star wars production ever (exept for maybe a new hope)
Fantastic! I love the detail of the editing in your videos. The Deleted scene from Revenge of the Sith when Padme said it was probably best she didn't hear about what Mon Mothma and Bail Organa were suggesting would have been pretty cool to see at the beginning.
Thanks! That deleted scene was actually in one of the earlier drafts of this video, but it didn't work with the pace I was going for. I'm definitely going to include it in some other video in the future though!
I love twelve titans music and am glad to see you're using their music again, very excited to see it incorporated to this video! (this is before it came out)
