There's so much more I could say about this weird unconventional Pokemon game...! But instead here are links, and if you enjoyed, please consider liking and subscribing! The game: www.pokecommun... OST: iconpark.bandc...
Ngl I LOST it when you used the stick on the biker and he just face-drifted with that sound effect. This game is pretty cool! It has some very interesting ideas: The exp boost for shiny pokemon it's brilliant as it gives them an actual value over just being recolors, and since the exp it's only gained after battle it has no effect in damage numbers whatsowever. I love the exploration aspects, specially with the maps not being an square. I love the rescue and sactifice mechanic, specially the part of pokemon having ptsd, that's something I feel should apply to shadow pokemon if they ever get re-introduced! And the possibility of a pokemon just being G O N E if you mess up a battle it's more intense. I overall love games that restric the pokemon choises because it lest you discover new pokemon that otherwise you might had never even tried. But the dungeons had to be my favorite part. I can't imagine what a nightmare this should had been to code to check for the correct pokemon graphic, specially in the dungeons that let you choose a pokemon, but BEING your pokemon, and the constant worry if being defeated and simply loosing it forever without even a chance to reset it's pretty dense. And that plot twist was cherry on top. And the Beetle escape was pretty intense as well! This game has some amazing ideas! It's so sad that you won't be working on it anymore *wink-wink*
I'm glad someone enjoys these weirder features! I figure some of the concepts like sacrificing would really play out in major ways if the game had another 10+ hours of gameplay (10 hours is a lot already, but 20 hours you could have an entirely different team if you were unlucky enough!) Okay so I specifically have this memory of asking about how to code the dungeons on the forums, and no one responded, so I literally coded "if pokemon id = X, then sprite = Y" for EVERY. SINGLE. POKEMON. It's so messy lmao
