Btw we don't talk much about Tommy, yeah Ellie lost a father, but Tommy lost his only brother, the one who protected him, who survived with him, and he saw him getting shot in front of him, i truly understand why he started searching Abby before Ellie does

In my opinion the game is not really about revenge. It's really about finding the meaning of life. In the first game, Joel lived by the mission of taking Ellie to the fireflies but when he found out that Ellie would die, he did everything so that Ellie would not disappear from his life that Ellie was the cure. In the second game Ellie lives exclusively to kill Abby and not to avenge Joel but to have a reason to live since Joel took away the opportunity to die for humanity. They really live in a world where they are nobody and everyone dies in horrible ways and being able to be someone special is something very important.

There is something about brotherly love where even though they had their fights and hard times trying to get through life, Tommy and Joel would both gladly lay their lives down for one another. Tommy looks for revenge first in an attempt to protect Ellie as well, which he knows is what Joel would've wanted when he passed.

@no info I still don't understand why people defend the story, it was terrible. I have tried to approach the story from various character perspectives and still can't find it to make any sense. It has huge structural flaws and has a pseudo-deep story with a bullshit "revenge is bad" message that we have seen a million times before. Pretty much all of the new characters serve no purpose to the story at hand and the devs spent no time in wasting them. This is one of the greatest tragedies in gaming history.

All we wanted was to see Joel and Ellie together, rather they gave us a washed up, dry, shitty story, that fails miserably in trying to "make us empathise" and "challenging our views on the characters we love", piss off. The ones who wrote the story for the second game (im not mentioning names) are the biggest twats. What a shit story.

@no info people will still get behind this game no matter what. I think both sides are pretty valid. The story is contrived and makes characters do things they wouldn’t just to send a message. Although I get why many connect with this game on an emotional level. It touches on some dark themes about revenge and in the end Ellie came out with nothing. People have been so connected to this character that it’s hard for them not to feel some type of pain.

This game was definitely a hard pill to swallow, but it teaches a big life lesson. Her not being able to let go of that feeling made only not lose herself, but also everyone around her, even her knife. That, she didn't realise until the end.

I really hope there’s a part 3.. just as long as we don’t see abby anymore, I’d love to have more flashbacks of Joel’s past and see how Ellie ends up.. whether she stays in Jackson, gets back with Dina, how Tommy reacts after seeing her. Maybe Ellie would lie to Tommy about letting Abby go

damn man what a game ! I have a storm of feelings wile listening to this. I dont know how to put in to words the things i feel wile hearing or seeing anything related to this game. I like this world much more then the real one. I cryed, i laughed with Joel and Ellie and even with Abby to, i feel close to this fictional characters then most real persons. When a game manage to stir up such feelings inside of a person, becomes more then a game, becomes art. Thats what this game is, a living, breathing piece of art. Masterpiece in the real sense of the word. Thank you Naughty Dog, it was a privilege playing this gem !!!

I got to finish it yesterday after all this time. My god im broken today and i will stay like that for a while. What a dark, raw, unconventional experience that was. Poor Elie...Poor Joel. They never got to fix their relationship. I wish they would get to watch that film the day that Joel died together and have a hug before all things went to hell.

Oh man... I'm here after finishing Tlou 2 for the first time. What a great game! I've played a lot of games, but only a handful of them have touched my heart very deeply. One of the saddest moments in this game is when Ellie decides to find Abby again... that moment where Dina and Ellie are talking and Dina wants Ellie to come back to bed with her. Dinas reaction after Ellie answers she has to go.... tears in my eyes.

I never played this game, and I don't think I ever will. But my respect for it has grown in a way I don't think ND intended. My disappointment has become bitter acceptance that you don't always get what you want. The biggest compliment I can give it is that I long for Joel like all of the characters who were destroyed by his murder. I think a sequel did more harm than good to this series. The original was perfect, and now my view of it is tainted.

The farmhouse is lovely, very well done. Beautiful music on this site, too! TY The only thing is, about the farmhouse.....it could NEVER be a real thing in that world. It's too isolated and too vulnerable. Two girls & a baby versus hordes of "zombies" and, even worse, murderous bands of bloodthirsty rapists. It makes no sense at all. That's the whole point of Jackson: the 20' wooden walls around the town!

what joel did to abbys father was pretty messed up. but he didn’t know who he was. i understand why abby did what she did but i’m still very mad at her for doing it, especially because she didn’t just kill him, but tortured him. if we had just been playing as abby this whole time, everyone would be on abbys side. but then again, some people completely just start to not care about joel anymore because of abbys story. would abby have changed if she realize why he save ellie? no probably not. but i just wonder what could have happened if she did know, idk maybe nothing would’ve changed

It's really a shame that Ellie lost her fingers, that was a legacy that Joel left her before he was killed... he learned her how to play on guitar and was for her as a father.

It is. But it's important for narrative purposes: by going after Abby for one last time not only she didn't get her revenge and lost DIna and everybody else, but also she lost the ability to play Joel's guitar and songs, which her only link to him leaving her with an emptiness she won't be able to fill ever again

@@rafavigueras that’s wrong. I think you misunderstood why she left for Santa Barbara. Did that Ellie look like an Ellie that wanted revenge? Did she look like someone who was mad and had bloodlust for Joel’s killer? Or was a deeply depressed, traumatized girl who had NO CHOICE but to leave? If she didn’t leave, she would have killed herself on that farm. Her confrontation of Abby wasn’t even about Abby as a person. It wasn’t about revenge. It wasn’t about Joel. It was her facing her TRAUMA. She had lost everything. Her losing her fingers was something very unfortunate and unnecessary in my opinion, but it can still be seen in a way “positive”. Joel’s way of expressing himself was the guitar, Ellie’s is through drawing.

@@kilondaraymond3135 i learned how to play it and I'm not even good at playing the guitar. Download the app called Tabs and on there search for it in the search bar and use the tabs to play it. Just know that you have to adjust string E to - 21 on guitar tuner app

This game had all the elements to be one of the greatest games of all time - AMAZING graphics and audio, engaging and iconic music, an extremely eager fanbase from LOU1, and endless story possibilities from such an interesting universe and the set up of LOU1. All of this and they still figured out a way to deliver a disappointing and useless story. In honesty, the game was great until the section where you play Abby. That half of the game ruined the experience for pretty much everyone judging from the reviews on various review services.
