The Poltimore requires that the wearer's personality be larger and more vivid than the tiara; not many could stand up to it. Margaret certainly fulfilled that requirement and then some!
Paltimore is my FAVOURITE tiara of ALL TIME! lts SO beautiful, lts SO stunning, lts SO well thought out. l take a breath every time l see a picture of it on Margaret. l'm quite sad it was sold, as it would have been WONDERFUL to see it on another.
Not that I would know, but if you are fortunate enough to own a tiara, wear it whenever and wherever you please, including the bathtub. It's a shame when items are sold to private collectors and disappear completely from public view.
I followed this Tiara;s auction closely. I spoke to 2 different people at the auction house. Both confirmed that the buyer did not want to be named. The Queen and Prince Phillip bought this Tiara for Margarets wedding present. Naturally it held a great store of memories for her Majesty. If she gave cash to Margarets children then they would have to pay tax on the amount. So this is what I surmise, the Queen had one of her private secretaries bid on the Tiara and bid to win, after all the Queen was very wealthy. The Tiara is sitting on a metal shelf in one of Buckingham Palaces basements where her jewelry is kept. I don't know if she told David and Sarah that she had the Tiara? Her Majesty was able to look at this Tiara , perhaps on the Birthday of Margaret. It has never been seen in Public and probably never will. The Queen would not want to see anyone else wear this beautiful Tiara so I truly believe she purchased it so it was back in the family. Camilla will never be seen in this Tiara as it was Margarets personal jewelry which in theory belongs to Margarets children. I think my investigation of this Tiara ( which is my personal pick) has come to the right conclusion. We may now look at photos of Margaret wearing this Tiara and enjoy her beauty and sense of humor for eternity.
With regard to Margaret breaking the rule about not wearing a tiara until after her marriage. That rule is only for women who marry into the royal family. Princess Margaret was born a royal, so those rules did not apply to her. This is why her official title was Princess Royal and not just Princess. Princess Anne now has that title, and once Princess Anne passes away, it will probably be bestowed on Charlotte.
Princess Margaret was a princess of the blood but never princess Royal. Princess Royal is reserved for the firstborn daughter of the king. This title was held by Mary, countess harewood who was the daughter of George V. After she died, princess Anne was given the title by Queen Elizabeth II
The video is totally ruined by the poor narration Names of Jeweller and people who are well know are incorrectly pronounced. Is it really that difficult to do some prior planning? The channel is focused on Royal jewels but can not even get the correct pronunciation of the court jeweller - WOEFUL
So glad that someone else picked up on this. At least get the jeweler's name correctly...Google translate is helpful in that. Other words hurt my ears too...epitome comes to mind. Otherwise, a good video.
I'll never understand why we have to pay taxes on property that was taxed when bought with money that has already been taxed when earned by the person who earned it. You would think Margaret would have been smart enough to set up a living trust and just name her kids as beneficiaries and then they wouldn't have to pay taxes. Also at the least I would have expected he Queen to have purchased it.
I think with the bath photo, she'd probably had her hair and makeup done for an event early in the day before she'd had her bath and that was why she was wearing the tiara in the bath as to not mess her hair uo
You are right...however, the 'voice' could still get it wrong. Try eh-PIT-oh-me. However, in French it is accented on the first and last 'e'= épitomé (Latin-Greco etomology).
You are right if you count at the current exchange rate. However, if we move back to 2006 when the tiara was sold, the realisation price of GBP 926,400 is equivalent to 1.7 million USD
Its sad that the piece has been sold outside the UK. I wounder if now that wouldn’t allowed. You.’d think the Queen have had bought it when Margret died and it Could have stayed i the UK. Sad.
I wished that Margaret would have degreed the tiera to the crown after her death. So that it would still stay with the royal family . It would have been worn by the future princess of Wales .
Very nice and thorough video about this famous tiara and Princess Margaret. But I wonder, is this an AI voice? Some of the pronounciations were...well, a bit shocking!😂😂
Catalin's comment is in Romanian...so says Google translate: THIS TIARA IS MY QUEEN MARIA BUT SOME MODIFICATIONS HAD TO BE DONE TO IT BECAUSE THE CIRCLE IS NOT GOLD So...a load of nonsense in my opinion.
This AI presentation is very hard to listen to. Epitome is not pronounced Epi tome. And the weird breaks in the sentences is hard on the ears. I won’t be back.
Please, please, please improve the narration of your videos. While it doesn’t sound like AI to me, the mispronunciation of so many words made it tedious to listen to. Fix this and I bet you would get a lot more subscribers.
I hate AI narrators that can't pronounce words correctly. At least go back and correct things. At least I hope this is AI, and not some real person who can't pronounce 'epitome', 'Iran', or 'Helena' correctly
