😀I live in Chubut-Patagonia. My ancestors came from Wales and since then, we are still here. It is very exciting to read your comments. This video is beautiful. Thank you so much. Greetings to all the brothers around the world.
There are more Welsh settlements outside of Chubut: Darwin, in Río Negro and some families in Coronel Suárez, in Buenos Aires Province. Welsh people is highly appreciated and are considered one of the subcultures of Argentina.

@@michaeldoolan7595 También los galeses lucharon del lado argentino y los guardias del lado británico. Unos son libres y los otros viven bajo las órdenes de la corona británica.
I never even understood why the English decided to call their union as "Great Britain". How much of an ego did they have to have to call themselves Great?
@@pavan923It's not ego it's because Britain was 'Brittany' in France and the rest of the Britons lived in Greater Britanny or effectively Great Britain. Great in the past meant large, not Great as in we're the best suckers 😂
my family from spain migrated in chubut 1795 commodoro rivadavia. This story was passed along our family. A welsh family with horse cart looked very tired and exhausted with a baby crying. So my family came out with water, food and blankets and a placevto rest. Replaced the horse cart wheels. In return the reply was Dduw bendithia chi any correction would be appreciated but i beleive it means god bless you. Fastward the time capsule after our catholic prayers we use Dduw bendithia. This story has been told over many Asados.😮. i was born in Buenos Aires now living in Australia Nuevo Gales del Sur ( New South Wales) 😅
Thank you for this. from what Ive understood about the welsh patagonians, that was pretty accurate👍 It's weird, I live in Australia and have just recently had one of my songs do quite well in Argentina (called LIE by Gregg Humphreys) my song, (mostly played in Buenos Aires though I think) being played way over there where my Grandparents were born & grew up as part of that community in the Chubut valley before coming to Australia.☺
I'm envious of your channel because I'm trying to make educational content like you. You really make great and engaging history videos. If you keep it up, your channel is going to explode in growth
I love travelling to see other cultures, places, etc. If I found this by accident it would have tripped me out, hearing a South American say "Prynhawn da, shamae?"
My grandmother was Welsh. So, this story of Welsh immigration to Patagonia is quite fascinating to me. My impression from what I have read is that the vast majority of people in this area are nowadays monolingual Spanish. Even my grandmother did not speak the language. She came from South Wales and grew up speaking English. Nevertheless, really interesting to me that Welsh people came to this place which was so alien from home and managed to build a society and become prosperous.
Argentina of all places? you seem to not have heard that Argentina received some 7 million inmigrants up to 1930. Even to this day people are still moving to Argentina.
I hope Drakford doesn't go anywhere near to there because he will put 20 mph signs everywhere and ruin the place fantastic roads out there as well, you have been Warned.
